I've just bought a bmc slr02 two disc. I have had it 1 week and already upgraded the wheels to mavic ksyrium elite. The tubeless makes a huge difference to the feedback from the road, so much smoother yet just as complient in the bends. Amazing bike though, wheel upgrade and maybe carbon bars will sort the vibration issues
Honestly I can’t stand odd shaped seat posts. Had the same with my Giant Avail advanced and couldn’t swap it out. Not needed IMO. Glad you’re back on the roads :)
Agreed, proprietary fixings are generally more faff than any benefit over a standard 31.1 or 27.2mm seat post. Thanks Katie, feeling stronger, everyday. 💪🏻🚴

I'm not sure what this author means when he says this bike rides rough, it doesn't. He did get the uphill part right, my TeamMachine SLR02 loves to climb. It's a beast.
Hi. I have BMC Teammachine SLR02 TWO with 105 groupset from 2017 september . Bike frame is the same as yours. So , I like lateral stiffness of that bike. But I think , that vertical compliance is good and bike is very comfortable. I got for 1700 euro ( 35 % discount ) , so I think this bike for that price is worth every penny :)
Have similar BMC, running new wheels with internal width of 23mm, with 28C tires at 70PSI, tubless , just clears the ultegra calipers , problem solved. Enjoying extra grip and comfort....
To me he seems like a crank hell bent on naming and shaming and keeps reminding us that he is a carbon expert. He may well be. But he may be correct as well and we need to know that carbon is the biggest rip off on the planet. That said, a lot of high end bikes are so inherently the same but different. Glad you liked the BMC. Looks a great bike.
I've been riding a SLR01 for 3 years. It's not too rigid. It's the most comfortable bike i've owned and being stiff enough not to bend it in 2 while sprinting. Those rubino tires are harsh, those aksium wheels aren't helping either. Ride conti gp 4000 sII's at 5,5 to 6 bar and ride that cushiony rig
I had a Bmc slr03 and found it a super bike to be honest . I was going quicker than my caad 12 . They make really good bikes but they certainly know how to charge 💶💶💶💶. I couldn’t deal with that colour though. It’s grey enough around here already !
I've been looking at the SL too. I'm tempted by Ultegra Di2 though, but not sure if it's a luxury purchase. Also worth a look is the Rose Xeon RS which can be configured with 50/34 and 11-32.
BMC road bikes always come with shitty wheels, it seems to be the brand's philosophy. I still got two SLR01 and one SLR02. I can't imagine any BMC bike feels too rigid. They should fire their color designer though or return to their traditional black, red and white color designs, so he cant mess it up too much. Grey does not look fancy, it looks just GREY.
even their GF02 in aluminum is crazy comfy the compliance is unreal, I have to agree they should fire the guy who decides the colorway this bike would have been a killer on the same base color but with fluoro yellow instead of orange
My limited edition stealth black frame has a crack and BMC have said they will honour warranty but they've said I can have this frame.. one problem,... the colours is absolutely disgusting. My team kit is green.. plus does this bike accommodate di2? Because the stealth black frame was di2 only..
Eat Plants BMC have got back to me with an slr01 in red but I have to pay £500 on top 😣. It's a manufacturing fault.. and they want me to fork up cash.. they should just supply me with a like for like or next one up.. poor service tbh! Its ironic because I sell and promote BMC and they treat me like this.. annoyed but yeah 1st world problems. Awesome vid btw

I think it is done on purpose to lock you into a proprietary product. Colnago have just done a similar thing.
Agreed, wayne. It’s not doing anything that isn’t subjectively better than any existing seat post designs.

Wheels. I ride my bike with zipps 202 and it’s perfect. Once I put stock wheels then it’s stiff and painful ride

Problem is in wheel n tyres not on a stiff frame you should look into bigger tires
Update wheels, use latex tubes, use lizard skin bar tape 3m. Problems solved..

dr10501 Vittoria Rubino pro III, new design from last year. They seem good, at least in 25mm. I can't find a better compromise than these tires.

Michelin Lithion 3 are my favorite now. Feels almost like Rubino Pro, but cheaper and a bit softer.
