    I used to work in a Pedego store. I bought one of the first Platinum Classics and have never regretted it. Mine has been up Mount Evans 5 times. The top of the road is over 14,ooo ft above sea level. That bike is a dream. Coming down that rough road at over 40 mph sure makes me appreciate the shock and spring loaded seat post and puncture resistant tires with slime. Quality is very important and worth every penny.

      How is the climbing ability?

    • @ronaldfurr3132

      @@golden-63 It is great. It would not go 20mph up much of the way more like 17MPH less on some of the most steep areas. I deliberately abused it one time without damaging the bike. - what I mean is- level 5 full time going as fast as I could ( I'm over 60YO ) . Controller and battery did not even get warm.

      I am renting a pedego interceptor. It looks like a step-through beach cruiser. I hope that is not something that was only designed to be used for riding near the beach. I will be using it on flat bike trails going for a bike ride with my friends. My legs get tired when we go on long bike ride so I'm hoping the pedal assist will help.

    All I can say is, you have to ride it to appreciate it. Of all Pedego models, this is one of the most expensive, but also the most premium feeling. I test rode several other manufacturers bikes, and none had this premium, quality feel. The smoothness of power is impressive, this thing eats hills for lunch. Yes the price is hard to swallow, but this is what I was looking for in an electric bike.

    I Think he Said $4,095...BUT WORTHY OF THAT by FAR & AWAY !! So many Customers have been Experiencing “Life changing” Results from Enjoying their Bikes Thoroughly,...to Making New Friendships, & Getting out 5x more often than on Their Old Reg. Bikes. PLUS Customer Service is 200% !!!😊👍👍🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️ I’m speaking from Experience of course !!

    This is a nice bike. The Cruiser style really appeals to me...love the seat. The frame seems sturdy and I love the way the rear rack is integrated along with the battery/control pack. I think I could probably give someone a ride if needed? Some lightweight plastic fenders with mud flaps would work wonders. Excellent drive train. Good brakes. The front cable wraps could be upgraded so it doesn't look like electrical tape. Smart software...I'm glad the bike can be set to neutral so the throttle doesn't work.
    I recently watched Court's review of the "EG Oahu 500 EX" and that is also an appealing Cruiser. At almost half the price it does have some advantages and disadvantages.
    ADVANTAGES_
    _Can go 28 mph with pedal assist.
    _Has fenders.
    _Almost half the price.
    DISADVANTAGES_
    _Throttle can't be deactivated.
    _Mechanical brakes and not hydraulic.
    _Along with many other things.
    POST SCRIPT:
    ___The rear rack sway may be attributed to a loose battery pack. If it was my bike I might glue a narrow piece of old inner tube rubber to the inside part of the frame that holds the battery.

    As a European I'll say I really like the US style cruiser bikes. Those Pedego bikes are very nice indeed!

    $4,400 bucks is a tad rich for me, so got a RadRover, but if you can afford a Pedego go for it, there beautiful bike's, maybe when my ship comes in ;)

    I've Had my Standard Platinum for about a year. Which I like to call my retirement Corvette. LOL. Due to Shoulder injuries and neck issues unfortunately Mountain bike style wasn't Comfortable at all.To much strain on my shoulder. A big bummer for me as I use to Race Motocross back in the late 70s. But this fit me great .And is not as hard on my shoulder, Have only been able to put about 400 miles on her so far.But working hard to get well enough to hopefully be able to ride it Every day and Night. Very Well built. Just wish it had a 750w motor as I'm already Wanting more speed and hill climbing ability without pedaling as much. I live in a very hilly area. Overall having rode a few other E-bikes. No names but one is Very popular and only costs about half of mine. And my Pedego just a feels like a Class above. Peroid. 😎

    these are just standard ebikes made in china. not sure why their retail price is so high. i retail similar bikes for about half the price in new zealand.

    Great review, but you didn't really explain what a class 2 sticker, required by law is for.

    • @mikematto
      @mikematto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Class 1 means you HAVE to pedal to utilize the electric motor. Class 2 means you can pedal or use pure throttle mode, but speed is limited to 20 mph. Class 3 is >20 mph. It’s relevant because in some areas (such as California), you need to be on a class 1 and 2 ebike to be used in certain areas (like mixed pedestrian/bicycle lanes).

    • @thomasgardner2118
      @thomasgardner2118 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Juiced currents = no hydraulic brakes, lights, cadence sensing, fenders, rack, suspension. Get real with your criticisms man.

    I tried a Pedago bike around 6 years ago. I did not buy it because of the frame shake. I cannot imagine going 20mph. Even around 15 was not good. If I were Consumer Reports I would rate the bike unsatisfactory.

    • @CryptoCrows
      @CryptoCrows 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't agree, we have a Pedego and don't experience frame shake. We did have trouble with the Kevlar material tire... but we swapped those out and everything has been great since then. Love the Pedegos!

    • @mikeduffy4450

      Was it this model? I had a girlfriend who had a different model, and it, by contrast, was fine. It is this model to which I refer. It was not subtle.
