I have both a 749 watt interceptor and a black edition 748 city commuter and love them both. I also have 2 other Pedego so I do love the bikes.

I bought a city commuter platinum edition at my local shop they had in stock right there after giving it a test ride. A lot of people online complain that step through bike frames flex while riding. I personally haven't noticed any bending/flexing during my test ride. I liked the look of the classic frame step over version online but it would've taken about a month or so to arrive and it was bigger/had 28 inch wheels vs the 26 inch wheels my step through has. Their website said the bigger wheel classic frame version is suitable for people 5'10" and up and I'm only 5'7" so I decided to stick with the step through. I hope it'll be fine over the long haul. I'm currently 261lbs and it's advertised as 250lbs capacity but it rode just fine and the shop technician said he's had customers closer to 280 who ride theirs while wearing loaded backpacks with no problems so that made me feel a bit better although I'm on a mission to shed a few pounds for my overall health lol.

I like the Pedego ebikes. The handlebars are a little too wide on the Interceptor. Is it possible to get a narrower handlebar?

I'm not sure if there are official Pedego accessories to do that, but I know that here at Jim Gilbert's PowerSports, they've modified handlebars to make them work better with their customers. So it can be done!

Are these bikes suitable for someone with minor balance issues? My dad has had an electric bike for several years. He loves it but is thinking of giving up riding because his balance is not as good as it used to be. He feels insecure when dismounting because he can't reach the ground easily. Is there a Pedego bike model that might be more stable when dismounting?

Many have low step over heights. I can't say for sure if your dad would be comfortable on them, but it's definitely a brand worth checking out.

These bikes do have some nice features. I would forgo the 5 year warranty however to save $800 or so and just do a 1 year warranty.

Guess you still don’t get regenerative braking to extend battery range? We used to be told the equipment for regen would be too heavy

Yeah, I think it depends on a few factors. Cost is probably the big one. Plus I'm not sure how much you'd regenerate in a typical bike ride.

Oooh that's a good question. I don't know offhand. The Canadian Pedego site might have it listed. Here you go. pedegoelectricbikes.ca

My bike has 108Nm of torque with a rear hub Bafang 1,000 watt nominal motor and I'm guessing these may have 50-60Nm of torque? Good job going over features..

I had a Trek Cruiser 720 in the 80s and had a similar blue color but obviously was a Male's frame bike😄

‘Real’ wide tyres in Europe are 100mm (4”) and deemed sand-&-snow for real soft ground

Yeah, we call those fat tires here. They're popular on different models of Pedego bikes here too.
