How I got established really quickly on this server, is to make a lumberjack like suggested in the video! x3. No really, triple box 3 lumberjacks. You can have 3 accounts running at a time! I find it's far less boring than controlling one. It's more micromanagement, and far more profitable. You will make more money than any farming build until that farming build starts hitting high level aspects and chains. Now, I'll give you some tips for mastering triple boxing these guys. A note: you may need SOME capital to start these guys up. Not too much, but a few grand to buy simple reagants, invis scrolls for training, mounts, etc. 1. When you create your lumberjacks, make them start with 50 magery, 49 meditation, and 1 eval/necromancy. This will give you a spell stone with more than enough free casts to get up to 75 magery in the new player dungeon. You may have to buy an invis scroll, however. Keep the magery and meditation, The rest of the build is up to you, but I recommend GM tracking (explained later!) It's an alright idea to put them in plate and give them swordsmanship and tactics so they can stand up to the occasional monster or aggressive animal. 2. Get mounts for all three. This is essential. If you are short on funds, you can make a tamer and go around the wilderness taming llamas, horses, etc. You won't be short on funds for long! 3. You don't need a full spellbook. With 75 magery, you can cast the two essential spells: Mark and Recall. Look at the world map and find a good amount of remote locations that have a lot of trees and aren't near locations with lots of powerful monsters. I recommend at least 6-9 spots. There are PLENTY of these spots in the world. If one of them turns out to toxic in practice, just go out and find another one. 4. You have an inn room right? Get an inn room. Make every character on your other accounts co-owners of the same room for easy access to the room and the secure containers within. Place the secure containers within reach of where you pop in when you enter the room so you don't need to move around. Put the runes from step 3 into secure containers in your room. 5. Mark a TON of runes for your inn room, and have your lumberjacks each carry one at all times, and either enough reagants to recall or enough scrolls. They don't need runebooks. Make a script that casts recall, wait for target, target your rune, wait a couple seconds, say 'room', and respond on the gump so you enter your room right away after recalling. It's almost like having a courtyard! 6. GET TRACKING ON ALL THREE LUMBERJACKS. Easy to GM overnight with a script. Then, run tracking so that you are targetting murderers, and make sure "Hide house/ship" is checked. Then, in your chopping script, pepper this throughout: if insysmsg 'distance to' or insysmsg 'now tracking' script 'Recall from Rune' endif Or whatever you called your recall script. This will make your lumberjacks all but immune from being PKed. As soon as they start tracking a red, they will recall, and the range of tracking is quite high. 7. Make scripts to quickly chop logs into boards and organizer agents to quickly store boards in your secure container, so you can recall to your room, dump them, and then go back. I usually recalled every 2k logs, you can do less if you are paranoid or more if you are living on the edge. 8. Learn how to write scripts. JaseOwns has SEVERAL really awesome videos on the subject. It will really make your quality of life easier! 9. Finally, make sure your windows are arranged so you can view all three lumberjacks at all times! Believe me, that captcha will come up when you least expect it, and you don't want to miss it; you'll be locked out of your gathering on one account for basically the day. Don't walk away from your computer while one of them is chopping! This will severely cut into your gold per hour. Good hunting! This is how I got established on the server. A great idea on what you should do with your profits: Get 3 GM tailors up and start farming tailoring societies. Don't worry about making them 120 tailors... making them 120 is exponentially more expensive, and many of the tailoring societies can be done at 100. It takes about 110,000 leather to get to 100, which is about 250k worth. You could farm the leather yourself, but why would you? You have three lumberjacks! :D However, if you do the tailoring jobs, this will net you about 30-40 society points a week, easily. For 25 society points, you can buy a bronze reforge tool, which easily sells for about 100k. So you'll start seeing a return on investment almost immediately, making 300k+ a week with very little work.
Thank you for another video for new players. Please make a video about how to properly distribute pvm / crafters / pvp characters between 3 accounts in order to rationally fill out the cap of social tasks. This is probably not for completely new players. However, many do not even think about it.
Always put alchemy on a dexxer, or mage on a scribe, and either can fit in tailoring for a little defense bump and a bunch of reflection damage for the dexxer, or forensics for damage and skinning leathers for the tailoring. Also feel free to literally rock skinning scribe and tailor mage, it's big dong Deeps as fire aspect with eldritch later it becomes even stronger and you can aspect two suits for crazy strategy aka popping the mana pool and then going into fire gear with a razor macro
Dexxers can use smithing to not only buff the armor but their damage with weapons they craft, and mining is huge damage for a macer there's no downside to full gm resist and Parry Smith macer tank miner. You can basically deflect pks if you run smart and bring ropes or pouches, or 10 magery to just magic arrow yourself when you need out of paralyze with scrolls 🤣 The added bonus of afk watching a bandage loop macro in a pile of monsters and calling it gold farming, is definitely worth the time to grind the build out to gm Smith and mining
That’s a good video, I’m saying to do the same to all new players that I’m helping, start with a lumber or miner till you get 100 in the gathering skill and then sell all you had gathered, you will get 400/500k in a week or less. Another tip: invest all those golds in a mage, many want to start dexxer but dexxers in outlands are weak at start, they depends by links (I would say at least 10 links), high aspect lv and leveled parry and combat codex. With the mage, 0 links, t0 aspect and some summoner tome points unlocked and you can farm shadowspire lv1. Some of them decided to go for the hard way in any case, went for a dexxer, they all stopped to play after a couple of day.
My fave is looting. I spice it up by intentionally going crim and killing those who think I am an easy target and can't mind their own business. :) I call that ''Troublemaker'' gameplay. Great explanation overall, welcome to Outlands all.

yeah, don't sleep on salvaging, especially if you have forensic eval, you can stack up commodities pretty fast by following the crowds, plus doing that is great to learn monster aggro mechanics, dungeon layouts etc.. and it is kind of fun.
Also if you don't pickup gold itself with GM camping, you can carry the deeds for every 5k leather you scoop just looting leather and gems and never having to leave until reds show up or you feel like it etc
I would say that the stealth or summoner dungeon treasure hunter is another great option and mostly free, you farm a good amount of golds per hour and if you are lucky you might drop huge rare items.
A big challenge with people new to outlands, aside from earning gold, is just understanding all of the different systems in the game. It can be tough finding info because of how old the game is and how it changed bit by bit over two decades. One thing related to gold that I didn't learn for a long time is how cheap bags of sending are (not sure if also cheap on Outlands)... this helped me with PVM farming to go much faster, and also helped with me deciding to ignore a lot of loot and mainly take only gold. So I can now kill a lot and send a lot of gold to my bank without going back and forth to offload gold and bags of items
Outlands is only 4 years old. Lots of well kept information on the wiki and in streams/discord. But yes learning a new mmorpg can def be a challenge ! Just gotta play and ask questions as ya go. Also. Outlands doesn't have bag of sending :)
I have an idea for a build feature video: Blood aspect disco summoner. With the grimoire spells doing more damage nowadays (especially with discordance), the bleed ticks just melt things. Plus you get a huge mana/HP pool, and huge damage bonus when the mob is

Question about the codex, I see that for one point you have to kill 5000 gold worth of monsters if I have 2 codex would they both gain a point or does that gets split
