The homeless man helping a student and the student repaying later honestly brought tears to my eyes.
I really liked that one as well. All the others are also wonderful, but some of these just... hit different. For different people it's different memes, I guess.
I'm not sure if it was this instance or one very similar but it turned out to be a massive con and they were all in on it. The homeless person was actually a friend, they stole hundreds of thousands in charitable donations. Very sad.

the best part about the elderly couple helping the young man with his tie is that the woman stands in a manner that blocks most of the people that may be wondering whats going on, saving the young man from feeling embarrassed. Most old people are too incredibly kind for this world.

Yeah I mean I'm sure the young man didn't care about people seeing but it shows she even thought that far in advance, in her time it would have been embarrassing now people would just be like oof dude you have to wear a tie, that sucks

I love my dad to pieces so I know losing him would def mess me up
As a swede, I have never understood how other people think or do stuff as it simply isnt my buisness, but seing 600 men showing up as father figures for children who needed one is just beyond heartwarming and makes me shed a tear. Strangers’ deeds are always the most impactful.
I’m not supposed to be this cynical, but the 1st question that popped into my brain is how many of those men would show up as red dots on our predator map. We have lots of good men too, but things are quite different over here I’m afraid.

Millions? That seems unlikely. China has 1,3 billion people in it so if we went for the lowest "millions" possible that would mean that 1 in 650 Chinese went missing.

the bikers at 2:43 are b.a.c.a (bikers against child abuse) and they work with me, you get two bikers which you can call if you are ever feeling stressed out, they give you a biker vest stuffed animal and sometimes a blanket, the ones i work with invite you to group meets with other kids and you can eat snacks and play games theyre very nice. I 100% recommend them!

@steveleslie2170 That's awesome! I only ever knew of B.a.c.a doing it bc of TH-cam videos I found bc I binge watch biker meet ups. I found them I want to say around 2017 or 18, and I've been working with them for 4 years. They're incredible people to work with!

Why is that ?
The reason is twofold, even if it is mainly technical.
Indeed at the birth of photography, that is to say in the 19th century, the cameras imposed a very long exposure time. This was essential for them to be able to grasp the light. For the photo to be successful and clear, the subjects had no other choice but to wait for long minutes, motionless, facing the lens.

Some also mention another, less technical reason. It is linked to the meaning given to the smile at the time. The writer Mark Twain, about photography, said: "A photograph is a very important document and nothing like to degrade it than a stupid smile immortalized before posterity". And Charles Dickens to outbid: "The smile is reserved for ladies and gentlemen who do not care to appear intelligent".
Then the conjunction of the fashion of the actors to smile in front of the camera as well as the progress of the technique modified the behaviors."

Animals are amazing when it comes to recognizing stuff like that, especially when it comes to a child. They will go out of their way to defend them for (what seems to us) no reason.

I suddenly remembered when it was a busy day at the mall and there were A LOT of people. I got separated from my parents on the escalator. They went down while I was still up. I was really scared because I was a little kid left alone around so many other people.
An old woman gently took my hand and helped me step on the escalator and held my hand down until she was able to reunite me with my parents. Hope she's doing okay wherever she is now :)

This reminds me of a story from when I was a little kid.
When I was around 8 years old my family and I had gone on vacation and visited a giant Aquarium (can't remember the name now). But there were escalators everywhere and for some reason I was terrified to get on them as a kid. We were about to go down, but I hesitated and didn't go. Before I knew it I had been completely separated from my family. I just stood at the top and stared. Eventually, a man walked over to me and asked if I was okay. By that point I had started crying and said I was lost. The man gently took my hand and went with me down the escalator and walked with me until we found my family. My mom tried to give him money or a gift card for helping me, but he refused any form of payment and just walked away wishing us a good day. Never saw the guy again but I thank god every day for sending such an angel to help me when I was vulnerable.
