This was hugely helpful in replacing the pump on my '05 Highlander 3.3L. Great information, fantastic descriptions, excellent angles, and wonderful editing! Thank you!

Would any other component in the power steering system cause the steering wheel to pulsate and grab and the belt to squeak? I’f it’s just the pump, I can follow your directions and get that done. An absolute blessing you are for doing this.

the pump can do that but also the steering rack when is going bad, the squeaking could be the pump or a worn out belt. thanks for sharing.

So, question how long does this process normally take someone to complete with no extra problems?

I'm wondering if anyone else has had difficulty attaching the pressurized hose to the pump during installation. The pressurized hose is stiff and about 5" inches too long. If you install the pump first, you can't line up the banjo bolt to go into the threaded hole squarely. If you install the pressurized hose/banjo bolt first before mounting the pump, you can't get the pump to stay in place while trying to screw the 12mm bolt in above the pump and barely can get it to hook and hang. Any advice is appreciated... I've been at this about 12 hours now because of this.

install only the psp it self then the lines, if you got after market high pressure line then it is very hard to line it up n get it to fit, I had the issue in the past, if this is not your case then the best thing to do is to disconnect the pressure line from the steering rack so you can play with it n it makes it easy to fit but doing this is not funny either, if this is not your case either you might be doing some thing wrong, best of lack n hope you find a solution soon
