Here's a live version of this song when the band was on, The Midnight Special. Watching Jimmy Stokley (RIP, Sir) is so much fun. He not only sings the song, he plays the song with his body movements. He has a body movement for just about every beat and every instrumental inflection throughout the song. It's such a joy to watch. Thanks for your reaction, Harri. This has always been one of my favorite songs. Take care and be well. Peace. th-cam.com/video/mpiBdB6yJC8/w-d-xo.html
Jimmy Stokley, the lead singer with the long beautiful hair, had such a great voice. This song is Awesome, even after all these years (1978). Still listening in 2022. ❤😎🥰😁 RIP Jimmy! 🙏
1978, 14 years old, barely knowing anything about anything, I thought this was such a dirty sexy song, and I loved it. 2024, 61 years old, knowing a little more about a lot, this is such a dirty sexy song, and I still love it. So glad to have been around when it first came out. Great memories. Thanks for covering it.
This brings back very happy memories! Dancing with my brother in a dark car park lit only by the lights of his car and this song playing. Proving to my niece that we could dance. And applause out of the darkness from people we did not realize had been watching us. It was a very special evening.
For reasons I can't explain, this song exudes epicness, at least to me. It's like giving the "Star Wars victory march" treatment to the first blush of a love affair.
The band transitioned into Country music. After this song Exiles music was very different. This song is very sexy. It is also one of their greatest hits. Great reaction Harri.
I remember this being very popular in the strip clubs back in the day. I used to work for a restaurant service company and would do deliveries at a few of them and this would almost always be on , it and Nick Gilder's "Hot Child in the City". The girls just loved to dance to them.
this song was written and produced by mike chapman who also worked with blondie and on the first pat benatar LP. he brings the craft and rhythm and the #1 hit making touch. the deeper bass vocal is jimmy stokley, who brought wonderful showmanship and energy. jimmy unfortunately passed away only 7 years after this was released.
Oh danced to this song many times in school. The 70s were the best. Another song in the same vein but really popular is The Raspberries Go All The Way It was on Guardians of the Galaxy's soundtrack. I graduated high school in 1979 so I got to really enjoy every year of the 70s!
When you said jazz and funk, reminded me of a funny line in the Pixar movie "Robots". He said "we mixed jazz and funk and now we call it junk". 😆 This song is underrated for sure.
The music fits so perfectly with the lyrics, it definitely has a sexy vibe that few other songs do. Think you're right about a lot of babies being conceived to this song, haha.
This was your typical song for making out in the backseat of your car. Exile was considered country/soft rock. Hot and heavy stuff Harri, if I smoked I would need a smoke...lol
I had QUADS just listening to this Song when it was a hit! LOVED the Album this was taken from; 'Mixed Emotions'. 1978

Back in the day, some referred to this song as “Country Disco.” 🤷🏼♀️ Whatever it was, I loved it.

A long-forgotten favorite!❤

It's a very beautiful, joyful love song....
An extremely sexy & smoldering song. I always thought so, even though I was a kid when it was a hit.
I always love this song iam sure I did a little snuggling to this song😉💋
This song just flows so beautifully!

Putting this 8 track in when parking with my girl in my Olds 442. I was sure getting some in the big bench seat in the back.

thanks for noting the bass line... i liked it as well
Nice video . . . I hope you make more . . . You have good taste in music . .
Big #1 song in late 1978

This was their biggest mainstream hit and has a "country/disco" feel, but they later became an exclusively country group.
Great reaction!!! Excellent song!!!
One of my MANY favorite songs! Thanks Harri!!! 😊
I love JD Pennington's vocals on this.
This lead singer was Jimmy Stokey, it changed when he passed away at 40, from hepatitis c, I was married and in 20s and I loved the song
He was the long hair dude. Then after he passed I didn't hear nothing else on them til they came back country
A pop band who morphed into a very successful country band in the 80's.
This is the 28th African American reaction channel I've come across today. That's crazy!
Harri is not African-American. He's British.
G’day Harri. Really enjoy watching you discover new music, helps me re experience my first listen
Exactly 🎉🎉🎉🎉
This fine tune was very popular at the strip clubs for the dancers
Whenever I hear this song I think of Happy Gilmore.😂😂😂
This song was popular shortly after I discovered the joy of love and sex as a teenager, and had special meaning to me back then.
At the height of Disco this song was one to listen to with your woman while gettin' after it! Anyone remember 'ludes? Yup, That was it back then!
No babies made to it but it was #1 when my first born came along.
Seaxy song from a Country band!!
Always worth checking the fringes of success to see who came close, but never made it or managed to carry on.
This was your typical song for making out in the backseat of your car. Exile was considered country/soft rock. Hot and heavy stuff Harri, if I smoked I would need a smoke...lol
Sexiest song ever!!
A one hit wonder of sorts.
They had some country hits in the 1980s
I think someone else you can cover is Barry White if you want to talk about baby making music, LOL
It’s crazy but it was a country song
