Hey emmy! Induction cookers are not powered by magnets. They work by running a high current through a big coil of wire and switching the direction it flows very quickly (thousands of times a second). This produces an electromagnetic field that you cannot feel or doesn't harm you if you touch it. However, this electromagnetic field induces an EM field inside iron directly above it (like your pan or pot) and this alternating EM field (called an eddy current) produces heat as a resistance to the very fast switching of the current in your induction top.
I wish they had some of these in a non-spicy version. The curry noodles I just tried a few days ago tasted SO. GOOD. But because I have no heat tolerance, I went through 2 glasses of milk and didn't even get halfway through the bowl. lol. (I suppose I ought to just experiment, but I hate wasting food) I thought my curiosity was cured after realizing I couldn't stand up to the heat in these noodles, but you've made me want to buy more. lol
Whenever i buy these i just only use like a half of the seasoning sauce bc it's quite spicy, and i do like some heat... Then i add some chicken bouillon or soy sauce so it's still salty enough, just not as spicy. Hope that helps!
I started dabbling a lot with casseroles and baked pasta dishes because I ate them a lot growing up being raised by a single dad. I also started the tradition of making cheesecake for holidays a couple years ago when my sister and I started taking over the cooking since we both have our own places now. My sister and I have taken the recipes we grew up with and adapted them to our individual styles, and getting to share that with our family is a simply beautiful experience.
So far Samyang has had the best instant noodles that I’ve tried. I don’t really like the other brands like maruchan etc because the noodles have a chemical flavor. I have these noodles in my pantry right now. My bf and I split a packet because it becomes too spicy for me, which is odd because between the both of us, I eat far spicier food than he does, but he loves these lol
Dunno if someone already written this BUT, carbonara is traditionally made with guanciale in the Lazio region, where in Italy is VERY very popular dish: Guanciale (Italian pronunciation: [ɡwanˈtʃaːle]) is an Italian cured meat product prepared from pork jowl or cheeks. Its name is derived from guancia, Italian for cheek. (Thanks wiki) It taste more smoked, salty and fatty than bacon, but it’s definitely more rich in taste. :)
My best friend as a little kid lived next door we used to pretend to be “adults” having a chat over coffee we weren’t allowed to have coffee so to make it look like we had coffee we mixed milk and Coke or Pepsi “whichever was on sale” (that phrase will never leave my brain I heard it so often) to make the shade of coffee in coffee cups with saucers ☕️. The fun part was we gossiped about non existent people. Also this was way before Starbucks so we just saw our Moms doing it with their friends at kitchen tables. You know that point of you’ve already eaten food at someone’s house and unless they had a kid you were bored out of your mind (not an only but the youngest and the next in line was 10 years older than me. So It was always just me there waiting hoping to go or the adult would turn the tv on cuz you knew you weren’t suppose to ask. How times have changed for good and a bit for the not so good.
Finally a comment I can answer! My brother and I have two dishes we share. One is just chex mix minus all the add ons - just the chex itself (generally only corn and rice, we don't like the wheat). It was a family thing every Christmas, and since we now live across the country for one another, if we get together once a year we just make it for that time. The second was - we weren't very rich growing up. Our dad, when we were low on money, would just make a box of elbow pasta, a giant can of diced tomatoes, and a bag of cubed cheese. Salt and pepper as needed. Basic, but it was something everyone in the family would eat - and Bryan and I love that now. It's so good.
I came up with my own idea for breaded chicken by using breadcrumbs mixed with barbeque Pringles one time because my best friend and I were hungry and I wanted barbeque Shake & Bake, but couldn't find it at the store, so I made a substitute that turned out to be really good.
One summer, my little sisters and I invented the “Meatloaf Burrito” out of hunger and because we were weird. It’s a flour tortilla, warmed on the stove, leftover meatloaf, shredded cheddar and salsa verde, with ketchup optional. There’s no judgment in Meatloaf Burrito Land. Our partners all think we’re insane, but they’re not brave enough to try it. Their loss is our gain! 🙌🏼🌯
Samyang has no mercy -.- they are my favorite instant ramen noodles, but all their packets are too spicy. I don't mind a little spice, I eat spicy food all the time but,I want to taste my food too. That's just how it is for me though.
yenee94 Kate =0 I've only seen the spicy ones in the markets haha. I thought it was their thing. I really like the flavor of the curry one, but it's too much for me so i end up using a dallop and adding in curry flavor. Maybe I'll have to look online for their other ones.
My grandma makes a dessert called Whiz. I get funny looks when I talk about grandmas whiz to people 🤣 it’s named so because you just “whiz” all the ingredients in a blender. Here’s the recipe 3 oz box strawberry jello 1 cup boiling water Whiz in blender Add 16 oz frozen strawberries in juice Whiz til smooth Add 8 oz cream cheese, cubed Whiz til smooth. Refrigerate until completely cooled and soft set, 1-1 1/2 hours Fold in 8 oz cool whip and spread into 9x13” dish. Let set several hours or overnight The result is an almost two layered dessert. The bottom is more of a gelled fruit layer while the top remains creamy and fluffy
My mom and I make a plantain torta. It’s so good! It’s a toasted telera bread with refried beans, fried sweet plantains, salvadorian creama, and queso fresco or queso duro. We have it with a coffee or hot chocolate. IT’S AMAZING!!
Right? Me too! The mala was kinda my limit. I feel really bad, because I want to be able to handle more, but I'm gonna have to work up to it...somehow!
Before my grandfather passed away him and I had a tradition of sharing a coconut together. We both loved coconut and we would only get one to share around our birthdays. His birthday was June 12th and mine was on the 16th. Best memory ever.
Oh, I am a Korean, so it is very spicy, but you eat it well! It is good to see you listen well. I do not understand English very well, but ... I always enjoy watching it. 번역이 잘 됐을지 걱정이넹😅
I've never really heard of other families eating this but my grandmother used to make brown cheesy rice, which is made with brown rice, cheddar cheese, beef consomme' and french onion soup. My family typically has it at thanksgiving, christmas, and easter.
Before we found out my husband is a Type 1 Diabetic we used to do "cookie smash" where we would take 2 chocolate chip cookies in a coffee mug and put just a few tablespoons of milk and smash it all up and it with a spoon lol Alas, with him being an insulin dependent T1 diabetic, cookie smash has gone into retirement forever lol
Mandi Roxey OMG, I thought I was the only weirdo that did something like this! Lol! The ONLY way I can eat Oreos is to put a couple in a bowl, add milk, and mush it all together. I had always called it "Oreo pudding". Haha! 😂😋
When ever my Grandma visits us or we visit her we always make grilled cheese that we call “fancy grilled cheese,” they aren’t super fancy... they’re sourdough bread with a couple different kinds of cheese and we dip them in spaghetti sauce. They were the first thing that she taught my siblings and me to cook and they bring back those memories every time we eat them!
My sister and I have 4 things that we eat that no one else likes... until they try it. 1.) Our version of oyster stew 2.) Velveeta Mac and cheese mixed with a can of tuna 3.) Velveeta Mac and cheese with steamed broccoli stirred in 4.) Canned peaches with a certain brand of ranch dressing topped with croutons and sunflower seeds. Don’t knock it til you try it! Lol!
My mom (who was born and grew up in Turkey) makes a killer red lentil soup. We always love making that together and eating it while watching a movie. My dad likes it, too! Our nearby family consists of only my dad, my mom, and me. We have to fly to visit the others! But seriously, the soup is outstanding.
My family dose Clam Dip. It’s a dip eaten with Fritos made from cream cheese, canned clams, clam juice lemon juice, Worcester sauce, and garlic powder.
Greetings from Boston! I get so excited when I’m notified that Emmy has posted a new video. I think you’re entertaining, informative and just have an all around great personality. Thanks for sharing.
My sister (now 70) and I (59) have, since childhood, shared a passion for what I think is an odd sandwich. Layers: toasted rye bread, mayo, hamburger chips (dill pickles), bacon, peanut butter, mayo, and the second rye toast slice.
A food I'd always have with my mom is a "fried fruitwich." Once when my mom was a kid hanging out with her best friend the only ingredients they had in the house were applesauce, bread, and jam. They combined them together and fried it up like a grilled cheese and the fried fruitwich was born. She always made it for my sister and I when we were young. I made one recently because I had a nostalgic craving.
There's a nice little restaurant that I'll only go to with my partner. It's like our little place. They have super good burgers and ice cream. We hope to turn it into a tradition to go with our daughter when shes a bit older. :)

Me and my best friend during my teenage years accidentally dipped a famous Amos cookie in Velveeta cheese dip (we were doing salty and sweet, cookies we were dipping in a shared bowl of milk and ruffles and cheese dip) and it became a monthly staple during that time of month when the cravings were strong.
If you use a tablespoon of heavy cream or half and half it takes the cheese cream sauce to the next level. I boil frozen mixed veg with mine to make it a more balanced meal.
Me and my cousin Brittney used to make a like taco biscuit bake in the oven. It was biscuits, topped with meat with taco seasoning, doritos, lettuce, oozy cheese. We baked the meat and biscuits in the oven then added lettuce and doritos. And cheese. And it was delicious

Every Easter our family has something we call borscht. It's a vinegar with a little bit of cream broth, so it's mostly clear, and there's sliced polish sausage and sliced hard boiled eggs. You can add horseradish and fried onions to it. My grandfather came from Poland as a little boy and this has been our tradition every Easter morning. I remember him making it in his tiny kitchen when we were younger and him teaching my brother and cousin how to make it in case he died. I always remember him making pierogies in the kitchen too. The smell of fried onions always seemed to be in his kitchen. I miss him so much, he's been gone since 1990.
I just had it, just now. I highly recommend, but only if you can handle spicy food. I love spicy food but I couldn’t have this without water/milk. The flavor was AMAZING, and I would buy again. Though I think next time I would keep the spicy package out just to try it to see what that’s like.
Making Pinwheels. Thin flank steak, cut into long strips, take a pc of bacon and lay it done on the steak, roll it up and place in baking dish. Keep going till pan it full. Add onions and celery and bake till done. It was made for every birthday
tihk89 I ordered these noodles and they come tomorrow and I can’t eat pork but she mentioned bacon being in it? Do you know if there is bacon in these noodles?
I'd have to say my dish that gets shared to small groups of people is southern styled chicken and dumplings. I love your videos, my mom and I are always looking forward to your new videos to see what's next

I love showing off the induction burner by putting a rag underneath the pot of water and boiling the water “through” the rag without it even getting very hot.
My aunt and I are probably the only people who do this....Chili flavored maruchan instant ramen with sour cream and mexican style cheese shreds. Like a frito pie but chili ramen instead of chili. Try it. Its delicious.

I started dabbling a lot with casseroles and baked pasta dishes because I ate them a lot growing up being raised by a single dad. I also started the tradition of making cheesecake for holidays a couple years ago when my sister and I started taking over the cooking since we both have our own places now. My sister and I have taken the recipes we grew up with and adapted them to our individual styles, and getting to share that with our family is a simply beautiful experience.
who is watching this while eating one? only me? okay

*Delicious* but fairly tame, heat-wise, as far Buldak ramen goes. You really can't go wrong with any of their offerings, though! Yum!!

Emmy, I was eating this right with you, wouldn't take my first bite until you had yours... and I was DYING! I wish I had your spicy tolerance lol!
I miss seeing your sons' hands in the making of...... Youre such a good Momma!! i just love to hear them laugh!

I swear I just found out about this today and I was like why hasn’t Emmy tried this yet and now THIS 😂💯💯💯
pakiraju786 What a coincidence
Love it! Kids are so funny and creative.

I came up with my own idea for breaded chicken by using breadcrumbs mixed with barbeque Pringles one time because my best friend and I were hungry and I wanted barbeque Shake & Bake, but couldn't find it at the store, so I made a substitute that turned out to be really good.
heyyyyy emmy!! stopped my other vid to watch you!! yay 😁

These are sooo good! Not too spicy which is amazing 🤤
*“Is he getting boiled?, what is he doing he’s just chilling”* lol
One summer, my little sisters and I invented the “Meatloaf Burrito” out of hunger and because we were weird. It’s a flour tortilla, warmed on the stove, leftover meatloaf, shredded cheddar and salsa verde, with ketchup optional. There’s no judgment in Meatloaf Burrito Land. Our partners all think we’re insane, but they’re not brave enough to try it. Their loss is our gain! 🙌🏼🌯
Lara Pierce yum!!!! 😍
Yum, I'd eat that. (but without the salsa, I don't like spicy)
Lara Pierce We did the meatloaf burritos with picante sauce, the best!☺💝🇺🇸
That sounds great! I love mac and cheese burritos myself!
Lara Pierce how is that weird at all? It’s still beef
Samyang has no mercy -.- they are my favorite instant ramen noodles, but all their packets are too spicy. I don't mind a little spice, I eat spicy food all the time but,I want to taste my food too. That's just how it is for me though.
Cecilia Cassis samyang's regular ramyeons, not the fire chicken series, are actually not that spicy
Cecilia Cassis same they taste awesome but it just hurtssssss
yenee94 Kate =0 I've only seen the spicy ones in the markets haha. I thought it was their thing. I really like the flavor of the curry one, but it's too much for me so i end up using a dallop and adding in curry flavor. Maybe I'll have to look online for their other ones.
Cecilia Cassis Yeah, their fire chicken ramyeons are the only ones that are popular outsideof Korea xD
yenee94 Kate awe maaan. Maybe one day haha
My grandma makes a dessert called Whiz. I get funny looks when I talk about grandmas whiz to people 🤣 it’s named so because you just “whiz” all the ingredients in a blender. Here’s the recipe
3 oz box strawberry jello
1 cup boiling water
Whiz in blender
Add 16 oz frozen strawberries in juice
Whiz til smooth
Add 8 oz cream cheese, cubed
Whiz til smooth. Refrigerate until completely cooled and soft set, 1-1 1/2 hours
Fold in 8 oz cool whip and spread into 9x13” dish. Let set several hours or overnight
The result is an almost two layered dessert. The bottom is more of a gelled fruit layer while the top remains creamy and fluffy
That actually sounds pretty tasty. 🍓
I ordered this along with rice cake from amazon. I am going to add the rice cake to the ramen and eat them together! 🤤🤩I’m excited!
I’ve tried it tonight for the first time, they’re so good
A little kewpie mayo to make it silky and some mozzarella to make it "cheesy" (just a little, you don't want to kill the spice) and it's SO GOOD🤤
I was waiting for a burp but the last second did not disappoint 😂

I want to get a piece of bread and butter and clean out that bowl with it yum yum
My sister and I have 4 things that we eat that no one else likes... until they try it.
1.) Our version of oyster stew
2.) Velveeta Mac and cheese mixed with a can of tuna
3.) Velveeta Mac and cheese with steamed broccoli stirred in
4.) Canned peaches with a certain brand of ranch dressing topped with croutons and sunflower seeds.
Don’t knock it til you try it! Lol!
After seeing how happy this made you, I simply must try it.
Yay! I get to watch Emmy try things that I probably never would! I'm a softy when it comes to hot things!

My sister (now 70) and I (59) have, since childhood, shared a passion for what I think is an odd sandwich. Layers: toasted rye bread, mayo, hamburger chips (dill pickles), bacon, peanut butter, mayo, and the second rye toast slice.
I’m eating these right now for dinner 😅
They’re so spicy but AMAZING

Yeah all of these noodles are super cheap. If they're not available nearby you can at least find instant ramen or instant mee goreng.
Megan N this was kinda a joke...
Hey Emmy! What I like to do is put the noodles back in the pan, put the powder, and then I put two cracked eggs in! Stir it up, and got a scrambled egg ramen noodles

I love spicy noodle challenges! You are so amazing! You are brave
If you use a tablespoon of heavy cream or half and half it takes the cheese cream sauce to the next level. I boil frozen mixed veg with mine to make it a more balanced meal.

I tried that flavor recently, and while I do love their chewy noodles as well, I really didn’t like the flavor! Wah wah!
This is my favorite!!! I always add sliced sausages and a fried egg 💖
I just had it, just now. I highly recommend, but only if you can handle spicy food. I love spicy food but I couldn’t have this without water/milk. The flavor was AMAZING, and I would buy again. Though I think next time I would keep the spicy package out just to try it to see what that’s like.
Carbonara is an italian disp Made with pork jowl (not bacon!), egg and pecorino cheese!
Gianluca Da Siena it’s actually made with pancetta which is essentially bacon
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbonara says that pork jowl or pancetta is used. Bacon is often substituted for pancetta outside of Italy.
Vittoria Matus De Franco I thought it was made with guancale- which is jowl.
Gianluca Da Siena Depends what region you are from in Italy. It's usually Bacon or Pancetta in the West as Pork Jowl can be hard to find.
wood1155 it's not bacon, the original recipe calls for guanciale. It's two different things!
Making Pinwheels. Thin flank steak, cut into long strips, take a pc of bacon and lay it done on the steak, roll it up and place in baking dish. Keep going till pan it full. Add onions and celery and bake till done. It was made for every birthday

Yay! Very happy to see you review this one. It's my favorite of the bunch so far, glad I'm not alone in my enjoyment of it! It didn't seem quite as hot as the others to me, and I (too) really like this style of noodle - probably why I like the stew type as much.
