@@TH-cam.Commen-tater It's sometimes taught that way, I think as an easy way to relate them to one another. But you can go much higher on the bass clef than middle C and much lower on the treble clef. It's just an easy milestone, one line above/below the bass/treble staves, respectively.
And then C clefs are a new sort of fun all their own! Tenor clef, alto clef, which are commonly or almost entirely used by certain instruments, and the even less common soprano clef (there are some weird notations in Renaissance-era music).

The treble clef is the clef that's higher. It is typically used from middle C upwards. The Bass clef is the lower clef. It is from middle C downwards. They're separate so that you don't have to do multiple ledger lines in one direction. Some instruments and voices in the treble clef are, Soprano voice, flute, clarinet, trumpet, alto voice, and french horn. Some voices and instruments in the bass clef are bass voice, trombone, tuba, euphonium, tenor voice, and bass guitar.

Danny was so close to explaining the clefs. The only part he's missing is they point at a line on which the notes start. They start with a different note depending on the clef. For example, the bass or F clef tells you which line the F starts on. And yeah it's lower than the trebble clef, which points to a higher G note. It's so you don't have to always start with middle C and end up writing all your bass notes 3+ lines below the bottom line lol.

Arin playing games with Dan: 'So I put this on the hardest difficulty, and NO, DAN, you're not bringing the difficulty down!'
Arin playing games with guests: 'So I set the game to the easiest difficulty so that we can have a good time. See how things twinkle when you can interact with them?'
I get the feeling half the joy Arin gets out of regular GG is just making Danny have an existential crisis every episode now. XD Very special kind of friendship where you get to unashamedly troll each other in the semi-abusive manner, and both of you be cool with it.

Ole Lukøje is the Danish (Probably rest of Scandinavia as well) version of the Sandman.
The name Lukøje is a combination of the words "Luk" which means to close something, and "Øje" which means eye.
    So he is Ole Close'your'eyes

Hey Dan you were pretty close to what a Clef means in sheet music. The clef denotes what octaves the sheet music is meant to be read in.
Music is built around middle C, written as C4. A treble clef denotes that the lines are meant to be read as the notes between C4 and C6, while the bass clef denotes that the lines are meant to be read as the notes between C2 and C4. There is also an alto clef where C4 is the middle note and the lines are meant to be read as the notes between C3 and C5.
From my experience in playing string instruments, the clefs don’t really matter that much as for 99.999% of music you play within the same clef on your instrument, i.e. a violin solely plays with treble clef and a bass solely plays in bass clef. The violas are the only exception as the vast majority of the time they play in alto clef, but I have seen a few pieces where they play in treble. Pianos are also kind of an exception as they typically play in bass clef with the left hand and treble with the right hand.
I think in “band” instruments there is more shifting between clefs for instruments, but I’ve never played one of these instruments so I am unsure.

Danny - The Treble clef is also called a 'G' clef, because the swirl at the bottom forms a crosshair on the line for 'G'. The Bass Clef is also called an 'F' clef, because the line between the two dots is F. It just so happens that putting a staff with a G clef above a staff with an F clef, leaves them separated by just middle C on a ledger line, which is really convenient for piano (the two staves together are called the Grand Staff). There are also 'C' clefs which form a bracket surrounding whichever line C is on, but they're weird and less frequently used.

i like the almost correct info about treble/bass lol. a staff always has five lines and four spaces, treble and bass are used to tell you where c4 (middle c on a piano) would basically be, which then tells you where the other notes would fall. arin also named FACE, which is spaces on a treble clef staff, not the lines on a bass clef staff lol

I remember playing the Snow White one, and accidentally stumbling upon and watching the Bluebeard one online. I just wish the endings of these games didn't wrap out so fast. You get to the conclusion and well the game just ends abruptly.

Musician who can read music here. They were really close, both clefs have 5 lines. The reason why it's called the Treble clef (or the G clef) is that the point where the center of clef touches the G above middle C is. For the bass cleff (or F clef) its the same thing but with F an octave lower.
What dan is thinking about "when the music goes above or below" the lines on the staff, you would use what's called ledger lines.
