Do you have any training videos available ? What methods do you use to get the maremma to this point ? I’m considering getting a Maremma but live to far away to send her to you for training but could sure make use of the knowledge on how to do this.
Tail between the legs at first so seems very unsure. These dogs are well known for their ability not to chase, but to protect whatever they’re in charge of. I would thing obedience is not their strong suit. Have you found that to be true as a general principle compared to a golden retriever, for eg ?
My 8 month old marrema is very skittish and before I feed him I make him sit which takes 10 minutes because I need to push (not hardly) his butt down but I can't because he runs away!
Although Maremma isn't really for the house dog life, it can be done of course. As long as you always give them exercise as these dogs need to have a way to burn off their energy.
My 3 year old Maremma is an anazing house dog. So calm and affectionate. Best dog Ive ever owned hands down but she is very stubborn and strong willed 😃

Beckmans training. I used his method for my Maremma and he is the best. No shocks or prongs but just teaching how to be a good leader.

Door manners, lol. My Maremma are expert door ninjas. We live in a very hot climate and they are absolutely addicted to the air conditioning.
You shouldn't have chosen this breed then. They are double coated LGD? Slack

This is a working dog. It's happiest when it's living outside doing its job as a protector not bullshit like this for TH-cam vids
