One of the first movies I ever binge watched, it was on Showtime almost every day when I was 15-16. All these cops should've known Danny's intentions when he took the time to literally train Farley in negotiation tactics. Also this was the first time I can recall seeing Paul Giamatti, the true star of the film. And not much has changed in 24 years since; he's amazing in literally everything he does.
Ever seen Saving Private Ryan? Same year as this. And before that, the Howard Stern biopic Private Parts. That kinda put him on the map. But agreed. It's frankly amazing that an everyday guy like ourselves was allowed to breakout and just become a star. He's the opposite of tall, dark, handsome with a head of hair and we fucking love him!!!!
You can’t binge watch a single movie. So I guess you meant repeat viewed. Also, I wouldn’t say Paul Giamatti was the real star of the movie, but yeah, he WAS great and this was actually the first thing I saw him in too
There was once a paranoid schizophrenic who went off their meds and went after the cops with a knife. I convinced them to consent voluntarily to being placed in restraints, as well as being medically sedated. This, despite the fact that I was a uniformed hospital security officer, this individual claimed that I was with the CIA, that I intended to strangle them, then replace their blood with ketchup. Sadly, my experience has been that with the majority of these folks, they just play crazy. They know the trigger phrases, designed to get them admitted to the ER for the night. Warm bed, 2 meals, bathroom, TV, selection of magazines, all free of charge because they're "indigent." The frequent flyers know the rules of the game, and they know how to game the system.
Ron Rifkin is currently 86 years old, and this movie was out in 1998, and he looked 86 THEN.
2 words you don't say to Sam Jackson. "What" and "no". Lol
Say "No" Again. SAY "NO" AGAIN! I DARE YA I DOUBLE DARE YA MOTHERF**KER SAY "NO" ONE MORE GOD DAMN TIME!
😂😂😂
Anakin did and he cut his hand off
😅
What? No way...
I love how even Beck chuckles at the "Did you ever cheat on your wife, Farley?" line, LOL. Also, he makes the humorless FBI guys almost laugh.
I introduced my brother to this movie, and he loved it. R.I.H. my brother, this movie will always remind me of you.
"R.I.H."? What's that? Rot in hell?

2:21 Danny:

Even the FBI agent was laughing
My younger self cracked the hell up LMAO
If Farley ain’t quit that day, he for damn sure got fired
2:54 Danny:

You just cost someone their life, Farley! Game over!
(Gunshot)
I was like "damnnn this is a good movie, I wonder what year was it made?"

Paul Giamatti's villain arc began here lol

Kevin and Sam did good in this movie
My next favorite is David Morse as Commander Beck. He was so good, couldn't tell if good or bad until the end.
Life is stranger than fiction sometimes.
Samuel L Jackson is the best damn actor to have ever existed!
Nope. He isn't.
