  • CELTIC chiefs laid a floral tribute to Walter Smith outside Ibrox as fans continued to mourn the loss of the Rangers icon.
Tom Boyd, Michael Nicholson, and fellow Celtic directors visited the statue of legendary captain John Greig just after half eleven on Wednesday morning to pay their respects in front of the grieving Ibrox crowd.
Rangers chief executive Stewart Robertson accompanied the group as they walked down Edmundston Drive clutching a green and white floral display.

I'm a Celtic Supporter, but I grew up watching Rangers and Walter Smith's era of dominance of the old firm, I was very saddened to hear of his passing, a true Rangers Legend and a great man, I never ever once saw or heard him once look like a man that was a bigot, the only thing I seen was a true professional in the world of football who tried his upmost to break down barriers, the fact that he also took Ally McCoist and also the great Tommy burns as assistants when he became the Manager of the National team speaks volumes of this great man, he also attended the funeral of Tommy Burns, who he regarded as a friend, it is indeed a very sad day for Scottish football, my thoughts and prayers go out to Walter's Family on this very very sad day, R.I.P the Legend... Walter Smith ...
