We lost #CelticFC legend Tommy Burns #OnThisDay in 2008. Ten years on, we reflect on the man, the Celt and the legacy of one of the club's most loved and cherished figures.
He was 1 of a rare group who was Celtic personified in everything. A true gentleman. We were the fans that got luck, not Tommy may he rest in peace 🍀🍀🍀

A bear here. Just watched this short vid of Tommy. Seemed like a great to work with, no matter your age, he'd be there. TRUE LEGEND. A guy I could never dislike, there's always someone from the opposite side who at times you want to dislike but deeper down it doesn't happen. The vid albeit short has enlightened to more about him, He was a Celt through & through, you guys were lucky to have someone like Tommy. Just felt the need to say what I have. RIP Tommy Burns. Worked next to Tommy in Celtic Park for the best part of 7 years,actually became talking to each other on a daily basis “Friends” one of the funniest,sarcastic,genuine,caring,loving professional men I’ve EVER MET!! God Bless you Tommy! And aye your “Gaffer or boss” says that!!😆He heard I got promoted to bar supervisor one day and he took me aside and congratulated me and said some of the nicest things to me I will never forget!! But right after that he used to shout “Gaffer or Boss” to me in front of people just to simply make me instantly cringe on the spot! He was good at doing that! And he got a laugh from it so it’s all good! The day he died I had to go in a do staff shift sheets and as soon as I walked in Paradise felt hollow,cold,empty..........just a huge piece missing from there,I finished doing the shift times and had to go straight home,Celtic Park had never felt so horrible in my life as it did that day! Sorely missed Tommy! Again God bless you! You where the “Fan that got lucky” as it said!🍀🙏🏻💚
Tommy deserved to be here during these great times for celtic, to watch his team making history, but on the flip side, some of the tough times our club suffered through would have been much tougher had tommy not been there, a shining light around the club, we were the lucky ones, RIP tommy burns, a true celtic legend HH

He was also a cracking player, and as a manager, I almost felt like I wanted a league title more for him than for the rest of us. God bless you Tommy, RIP.
I met Tommy along with 2 friends of mine that are gers fans and my friends said what a true gentleman he chatted with us all for an hour my friends shaked Tommy's hand and said what an absolute gentleman and a true gent and my friends are rangers fans
