This episode is probably stronger than the first one, love the character moments between Pomni and Gummigoo(rip the goat), the ost for that truck launch got me man
I do think it’s stronger when it comes to characterization and connection between characters, but I personally like episode 1 more because it has a bigger existencial horror tone to it. I feel like that will get lost as the show progresses because the more we get used to Caine’s antics and different areas, the less dreadful it will be (because with liminal space horror, the fear of the unknown if what makes it scary - so once the unknown becomes familiar, that aspect starts to fade). I still really enjoyed the new episode and I love what they did with Gummmigoo, but what made me like the show in the first place wasn’t as present there this time. That might just be my own personal taste tho
@@sushishishu Oh yes absolutely. I was expecting more of the horror stuff in the 2nd episode, a bit letdown it didnt have more of that, but im happy with the episode. Hopefully we'll get more of that in the next episodes. But if not, as long as the writing's good, im fine with it
@@sushishishu The horror of this episode is the existential dread of Gummigoo's existence. One day while walking to the fridge for some milk you clip through the floor and end up in the guts of the matrix only to discover you along with everything and everyone you have ever known and held dear isn't even real. Your experiences, your memories, your entire existence, is just flavor text invented by some machine God to make you a more colorful character in temporary story that is not even your own.
23:48 This is basically my theory, or maybe that abstraction is just what happens to your actor after you leave. Like, your actor gets corrupted because there's no longer a player to pilot it. I feel like Kaufmo figured out how to escape and that's why an abstraction was all that was left, and because they're corrupted, Caine can't just delete them like he can with everything else so he has to store them away.
this is my theory too, and since Caine is part of the system, and canonically has very limited knowledge of the outside, this would logically lead to misunderstandings about what is really happening here
I think abstraction happens when somebody loses their grip on reality and is no longer capable of holding onto a cohesive sense of self due to having been severed from their bodies for so long and lacking the mental fortitude to hold onto who they once were. What remains is essentially the core of their being in a abstracted stew of digital information that once represented their minds. There is quite a bit suggesting they probably don't have a body to go back to. The way they don't remember their names is an odd detail. I think they are either copies, digital ghosts of the original person now lost in the machine unaware that they are copies, or they are the severed mind and soul of a person whose body remained back in the real world and either died on the spot or died over the years that have since passed while their mind and body remain trapped in this virtual prison.
23:50 that's... actually a really good question. I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually what it is, and they are keeping themselves locked in longer than they need to because they are actively fighting against what will end up being the actual solution.
yeah it's a Dev Room where they put a bunch of assets to mess around with while in development, the models are there so they can just yoink one when necessary, there's also the teapots which are typically used to test lighting not to mention the texture spheres and default cubes, it's a REALLY fun easter egg Also that moment with Pomni between the two trucks is a reference to Ice Age because one of the lead animators worked at Blue sky Studios in the past
Plz have this man watch Murder Drones, it needs the love especially after Ep 7. Its important to note that Digital Circus is more character focused than a lore focused mystery. Murder Drones definitely is much more mystery/lore-filled than Digital Circus.
So a lot of people don't know this but the creator has said that ADC was inspired by the science fiction horror short story "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream:. Short explanation is an AI computer that took over a planet is torturing 5 humans because their the last of their species. I won't spoil the rest so go read it yourself. So based on what we know from that short story and what we can understand of ADC. This is my theory... Amazing Digital Circus is basically a Children's New Age Virtual Reality Video game thats possibly still in testing (we're not sure). That promises an immersive experience. Now given my knowledge of games and what we know about ADC altogether here is my breakdown. Caine is the Master AI Control Program, Caine is designed to immerse the players by coming up with fun and creative games made DAILY mind you. The player characters who are drawn in such as Pomni are given an immersive experience to the point where their memories are sapped away even forgetting their names to become their new personification. Whether their character designs are by choice or forced were not sure yet. Jax has said that most of them have been their for YEARS in the digital space. Now we're not sure how long Years are in the digital space if theres a time difference with thought processes. However from what we can see judging by the characters mental stability, some of them have gone through mental degradation with constant subject to Caine's games. To the point where they suffer mental breakdowns and their minds become "Abstracted" and warp their mental state to that of a monster. Thats what i got so far, I have some theories on how this can end but i won't say for now.
12:13 The characters of _Wreck-It Ralph_ are fully aware that they're game characters, with programmed backstories and everything, and they're all absolutely okay with it, even the NPCs.
Helluva boss is basicaly dark comedy with some drama. Hazbin hotel too but also a musical. Digital circus is more psychological horror. And Murder drones is a slasher dark comedy with some eldritch horror.
Abstracting probably doesnt get you out. Though it might be a fail safe for anyone who learns something they shouldn't. And I wouldn't put it past Cane to recycle the abstracted into NPC AIs.
25:01 in a way yeah, you see a glimpse of how Caine created or at least how he operated the map world of the candy kingdom by loading in "copies" of the base models like Gummigoo's we see in the episode. And this will be how Caine will pull a COPY of these models to use for future adventures instead of recreating ENTIRE worlds/characters from scratch. Plus most likely the Gummigoo we see later will be a copy with no memories of his experiences with Pomni or even his identity/those gummy lads he knew in Candy Land. 😱 I'd imagine this is a sort of way to save space in whatever HUGE computer is running the entire system to allow Caine to create immersive NPCs without them breaking the system. 🤔
I can say that we need to pour some Maple syrup out to Gunmigoo as he was a good gummy gator that he Pomni friend 🫡 Also it seems interesting to state that Jax is staring to show his villain side more in this episode. The creator and the VA has confirmed that Jax is going to be showing more of his villain/jerk side more. I hope he get some redemption throughout the close of the season. So with all said, you mentioned Helluva Boss. It would be nice to let you react to the more recent episodes that dropped during last month or year since Season 2 is coming back strong for this Month of May till June, October, November and December are the months that the new episodes are dropping. 😄 As between each month is a break but we shall be getting “Helluva Shorts” aka mini series of short episodes during the waiting new episodes. They explore new interactions of characters we seen but more story within the certain character or characters in their life within the Helluva Boss series. I highly recommend you check out “Hell-Belles” as it’s focus on Millie and Sallie Mae having an sister bonding time being together 😌
The explination for getting rid of Gumigoo is illogical Cain should easily tell the difference between an npc and a pc cause he can't effect the pc's minds I'm assuming he can effect an npc's mind or else how are they created?

I think ep 2 was more flawed than ep 1, ep 1 was basically flawess. Still, at the end it's up to personal preference

Sort of like Infinity Train LOL! Ngl I never thought of this and it’s actually a smart idea

21:25 I'm so glad someone pointed out that the two Crocs in the Background are dancing! Would have been sad to miss!
As soon as i finished watching the episode i got myself the Gummigoo plush 😂
I actually was behind and I bought it even before watching the episode. I am so glad I did. 🤣😭😭💚💛
I went to bed, but I ordered the plush while on the train to work the next morning, lmao.
This episode was so good. I hope Joe checks out more Glitch content. They've done so well in the animation industry.
At 10:00 the whole below the map thing is such a meta joke for game developers.... happy it he realizes it a bit later 😂

2:53 You know she’s looking at Jax like “I get enough immersion from your _natural_ intelligence.”
Can you react to Murder Drones? It's another show by GLITCH

You should check another Glitch Productions series "Murder Drones" as well!
Next can you react Ramshackles, also GODSPEED Pilot? I think you will eventually watch Murder Drones.
