Caine is my favorite. Confirmed to just “not understand humans”
He seems like he’s trying to help. Like he legitimately made an exit door, but couldn’t actually find a way out to put behind it.
@@falsnamae3511 I'm thinking the reason Caine's fake exit looks like a bunch of office rooms is because the only thing Caine knows about the real world is security footage from the building the computer holding the circus exists in.
Or at least didn’t get the concept.

Maybe he's treating it as a game and is thinking of prizes.
Now the real question is: does he "not understand humans" because he's a wholly constructed digital being? Or because he's a human who has spent so long in the Digital Circus, he's divorced from the human experience to the point he doesn't realize how fucked up everything is?
My money is on the latter. The lovingly recreated office complex tells me Caine was drawing on real memories of the Real World, as he remembered it. If the "C&A" logo is anything to go by (Caine & Abel?). He's probably the first being trapped in a digital world of his own (or the company's) making.
He's not _malicious,_ per se. Indeed, he is _trying_ to help in the only way he knows how. It's just...well, as stated, he's been here too long to remember what it's like for a human to be trapped here. Perhaps mixed with a genuine desire to foster levity in his "charges", to maintain their emotional state.
It doesn't occur to him that maybe making a joke or adventure out of everything isn't what these people need right now.
Fun fact: Caine is voiced by Alex Rochon, who prior to this, has done popular fandubs of Spamton. So he has experience voicing a mentally unstable and glitchy character.
In MasakoX’s Revelation F, Alex also voiced a corrupted A.I. that used to host a Space Resort before Freeza let it go to waste. I believe it’s name was Diera.
That's actually what got him the role, iirc
Also a fun fact: Alex Rochon was once known as the Autarch of Flame and used to do Top 10 lists here on TH-cam. He’s also good friends with another favorite TH-camr of mine, Joshscorcher.
If you really want your mind blown: go into the video's settings -> audio track and realize that there are actually 9 different dubs for the whole thing. This must have taken so much money to produce, but it was all worth it. Hope we don't have to wait too long for the next episode.

Easily the most threatening line in the episode.
My favorite little bit about this show so far is the decision to not make Caine evil. Like it would have been so easy to make him a villain who's trying to keep everyone locked up for nefarious reasons but instead he's only lying about the exit because he doesn't actually understand the concept of leaving the computer he was created in and tries to make something he thinks everyone will like. It's more interesting to me than him being the bad guy and it's just a funny concept that I can relate to
Remember, Caine’s exit shows the same office and computer with headset that Pomni was implied to use to enter the Digital Circus. How does Caine know about that? I think Caine has to be lying, whether straight up lying by pretending the Exit isn’t real or by lying through omission by omitting the fact that he didn’t create it by himself. He must’ve used some pre-existing asset for it, meaning something relating to that room already existed.
And Eldridge abomination that genuinely wants to help, but is unable due to its own lack of knowledge of the human condition.
He’s programmed to want nothing other then your happiness but is unable to achieved this due you only wanting to wake up from this “dream”.
It’s strange that Bing Bong from “Inside out” is the closest comparison I can find.
I’ll be excited to see where they take it from here, I already like most of the characters.

@@sirfrog3579 i get what you mean, don’t take it the wrong way. There’s just a few moments where Caine was too much and Pomni was too much even. I like the times where there characters broke like when Caine shouted that bubbles was a parasite, and when Pomni went back to check on Ragatha she was really sweet and nervous. Other than that I love the characters.

@@team4star1 Fair enough, but like...that is totally the point of the show in general, and ESPECIALLY Caine. Caine is a classic Looney Tunes/Tom & Jerry cartoons character in personality, but his creepy visage and scarring animations reflect not only how odd and freaky older animations used to be but also just serves up the 'wtf is going on?!' vibe the show is going for. I'm not sure I see what you mean with Pomni, she's just out here going from 'I put on a headset for a cool VR game' to 'I'm now stuck being a weird-looking jester in a horrid colorful world where everything is a nightmare and I have no control at all and can't escape' and sells it really well.
@@ForsakenMemories45 I didn’t give examples of the things I disliked, I pointed to the things I actually like about the characters. As an example I disliked when Caine did the maniacal laughter, and at a certain point where Pomni is having like a fifth mental breakdown I was like ‘ok kid you’re 14 and this is deep, get over it’. I don’t hate these things I just have a very minor annoyance towards them. Because otherwise the animations sound effects writing and voice acting are great, but sometimes they could’ve reeled these character traits in just a little. I know I’m nitpicking but I’m just trying to explain it so you can understand my point. Sorry if I came off as rude.
I love the subtle human details they gave to everyone; caine's mouth functioning as his eyebrows while matching his tone, pomni's double takes when she's surprised or confused, ragatha reflexively brushing her hair out of the way, jax being out of breath for running around, zooble's body language compensating for a lack of facial expression, kinger's eyes getting increasingly bloodshot the longer he goes without blinking, and gangle brushing her tears off her mask.

It looks like each was animated after a particular fashion of animation; ragatha being claymation, jax being rubberhose, pomni being motion capture . . . then again maybe not since I can't pin kinger or zooble into that, oh well.

I love this show. Kinger and Jax are my favorites so far. It's amazing how far Glitch Productions has come and how much love and support they've been getting. I can't wait to see where this goes next, and I hope Pomni can keep her sanity.

Something to point out that not a lot of people seem to have noticed. Jax, while still being an asshat, seems to be looking out for the others. I mean look at his action. He knows something might be up with their Kaufmo. So puts the two most unstable characters together on a mostly harmless adventure. Then when he knows Kaufmo has Abstracted. He instantly runs off to find and protect those two again. Lying to them to keep them from panicking. Then pushing them down the hole only after he hears Coughmo on a rampage. Later on he gets antsy when he notices a glitching Gloink. Indicating Kaufmo might be following it down there and similar behavior.
Now it would be easy to say he is just an jerk trying to save his own skin, but his actions don't really match that. If that were the case he'd probably kept running instead of stopping, jumped down the hole on his own or crept away on his own when Kaufmo broke through the ceiling. However he doesn't. So it seems like there is more depth to the character then what we see.
Also since not a lot of people point this out. Gooseworx has also done a few animations and music on their channel. So you should check that out in your own time and see what you think.

The fact it took one episode just to grab a colossal amount of attention is really a mind boggler, and me being invested in the lore i'm already pouring all my luck in for these guys to make this even more mind boggling.
So I heard that the idea for this show was basically, “let’s retell I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, but the all powerful AI is actually nice this time.”

As a 90's kid, I am getting so much nostalgia from this world's setup.
It really feels like we're watching FMV cutscenes from one of those weird, experimental platformers you'd find during the early days of the PlayStation or Sega Saturn (except it's in HD, of course).

I don't think she was as okay with Pomni abandoning her as she made it seem. She was pretty awkward before the feast too.
@@elias.tEither that, or she feels personally responsible for ruining Pomni's first day at the circus. It was her idea to check on Kaufmo and introduce Pomni to him, after all. In the end, she likely felt that Pomni hasn't come to terms with her new reality yet and decided to keep some distance, both out of guilt and to give Pomni a minute to process.

I believe pomni’s VA was in rent a girlfriend, Jax’s VA was angel dust in the hazbin hotel pilot and Kinger’s voiced noob saibot in mk11

And zoobles va is Michael's girlfriend, who was one of the clean-up artists on the hazbin hotel pilot.

I'm so happy you watched this, I think I watched the pilot about a dozen times already and I love it every time I watch it. Hopefully Glitch manages to make it into a full series in the future.
Also fun fact: in the spanish dub when Caine is telling Pomni the fine print about choosing a name, he says that the name can't be transphobic nor have hate speech in it (it also specifies to not put references to dubbing in it, which is an inside joke in the VA industry around here lol)

Fun fact: Gooseworx also composed the score. I think that writing music is her first trade and has been known to do OST for a lot of indie animation. She did it for Hazbin Hotel, in fact.
That's at least how I first found out about her, so I was surprised to learn that she was also a writer, artist, and animator. Not many people can claim to do all of that and then some
Here is some trivia you might like to hear. There are three Hazbin Hotel pilot episode associates here. Jax is voiced by Micheal Kovach (voice of Angel Dust), the Gloink Queen is voiced by Elsie Lovelock (singing voice of Charlie), and Dooble is voiced by Ashley Nichols (one of the clean up artists for Hazbin).
I didn’t know Elsie Lovelock worked on Hazbin, I’ve been subbed to her channel for years.

BTW a running theory I'm trying to get started is that when the theme song has a small glitch on repeat, is when Pomni appears and I theorize that's when the other clown (Kofmo) glitched to the point of no return, therefore they spawn when one breaks, for example there is a queen picture in one of the doors, but Kingler is here, so maybe there were others before
Apparently Kinger's line "You didn't experience a game show in there did you?" might be a reference to Little Runmo. Which is another Gooseworx animation.

I’m pretty sure the amazing digital circus is going to be a series done on TH-cam like murderdrones. I think it’s just called a pilot because they don’t have enough funding to make a more episodes so they’re trying to garner support from the viewers through merchandise. I could be mistaken or that might change.
This is just one of Glitch Production's series. They've also got Sunset Paradise, Meta Runner(personal fave of mine), and Murder Drones.
Ok I’ve seen a few comments recommended murder drones as something else to react to, and I 100% agree; I will say it’s pilot is good but isn’t the best the show has to offer (and relied a little too much on meta humor, although I will say it’s done decently) and ep 2 is a drastic increase in quality.

This is an unpopular opinion, but the only thing I don’t like about it is the sudden crush that Uzi developed for N (it's not that I hate the pairing; I just wish there was more reasoning behind it, and I honestly prefer N and V's backstory).

Hopefully she does, I’ve seen a lot of suggestions for shows like helluva boss and hazbin hotel, I wish there were a few more suggesting lackadaisy and Murder Drones.

i still find it funny when a fan asked for pomni's age, gooseworx answered them and Glitch responding with "What have you done?" just for gooseworx to again answer with: "I'M GIVING THE FANS THE FACTS" and "This ain't my first rodeo!..." fully aware of the r34 stuff incomming.
Yeah Jax and Zooble are the youngest at 22 (they're both the same age), Kinger is the oldest at 48, Ragatha is the 2nd oldest and in her 30s, Gangle is 26 and Pomni is 25.
So happy you're watching some of Glitch's stuff, completely understandable why this is taking off, it's so cute but they're able to go a different direction that their other shows can't, like the themes of all the characters and their existential crisis.

Pomni's VA also voiced Yanfei from Genshin. Kingor's VA voiced Diluc. Zooble doesn't have an identified gender, the reason being that Zooble doesn't even know what they are, let alone their gender

One crazy detail is if you rewatch the hallway scene, you can see a bunch of crossed out faces on the doors.

Fun little fact pomni in Russian means remember. So it is a little funny how she is named remember when she can't remember her name (I also enjoyed watching this in the Russian dub)
POSSIBLE SPOILER THOERY
If Pomni had put on the headset and immediately been "magic'd" into the game, then the headset should be dropped on the floor, but it's been neatly placed back on the desk.
I think the game just takes a rough scan of the user and makes a "Johnny Silverhand" or "SOMA" style ai based off of them that's trapped in the game believing they're the original.
Yeah, that would also track with the users being 'abandoned', seemingly forever, within the digital world, rather than some attempts being made to search for them, and people continuing to put the headset on rather than being put off by strange circumstances. Presumably, at some point they DID take the headset off, and then the... what, 'cached copy' of the user's mind diverged from the original, who walked away? Would also explain the memory loss, if they're only the most important parts of their minds in some sort of cache, on the assumption that any specific memories can be pulled from the original on demand and a slight delay in recall wouldn't be a problem.
So likely the entire developer/beta-testing team of... whatever this is was in there at some point, until each copy eventually lost their sense of reality and Abstracted. Possibly multiple times over, possibly even meeting each other and not realizing they're the same person because of the different avatars and inability to remember any specific memories.
If the devs don't know about the problem (the local copy continuing to exist after the user 'logs out', and becoming a divergent personality), the copies might just keep stacking up until the excessive memory/whatever consumption is noticed (which might just be brushed off as part of Caine's growth or his ability to expand the environments or whatever). And the most likely thing that would happen then would be that they'd reset the simulation, if loss of Caine's growth/world expansions was considered OK.
Alternately (best case scenario, probably), someone (possibly Pomni's original?) logged in alone, noticed other people, took their headset off (stranding another copy) and then realized (assuming the original is getting in-simulation memories while connected, depending on how the system is designed and what's working/not working we can't guarantee that) that there weren't supposed to be other people in there, and started investigating from the outside. But what form would a 'rescue' even take? Everyone on the dev team is still accounted for. Even if AGI like Caine is common, the idea of divergent digitized versions of themselves might not be an easy concept for some of the team. And I don't think they have android bodies suitable for the copies just lying around, this isn't Eclipse Phase or something...
How do you tell someone you accidentally made a partial, but potentially still sapient copy of their mind and trapped it in your unfinished game prototype in the care of your 'zany' child-entertaining AI for an unclear amount of subjective time, and you have no idea how sane it is or how to get it out, or even communicate with it safely? Did they tell anyone, or did they just cancel the project and leave the server in the corner, looking guiltily at it occasionally, wondering how everyone's 'clones' were doing?
I really can’t wait for the full season when this show gets going
Caine has been described officially as something like what AM from the story 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream' would be like if the supercomputer wasn't a sadistic monster fueled by hatred for humanity but instead a "Wacky and zany lil' guy", pretty much as of the pilot he's an AI but he's not an evil AI who wants to hurt the people trapped in cyberspace. Honestly as someone who was born in the mid 80s and grew up with 90s CGI....this hits different for me and other folks who grew up when CGI was really really new because it's mimicking that style but with much better fidelity....I liken it to retro style video games that are trying to look like old NES, SNES, or Genesis games but with more modern tools so it's smoother and looks better than it actually would.
Each of the main characters briefly summarized;
Pomni: trauma and anxiety bean
Ragatha: “this is fine”
Kinger: “I’ve been zoned out since 2014!”
Jax: chaotic neutral
Zooble (who I almost forgot): “you can all f**k off”
Caine: “what is ‘traumatic’?”
Bubble: probably on a list
Gangle: must protec
Before the fandom destroys it, I will say I truly did enjoy this pilot

13:40 have a buddy like this. Refer to it as dial-up. We used to play-insult each other while we worked, and I would give what I thought was a hilarious burn just for him to wave it off and walk out of the room. Five minutes later, all I would hear from the other room is him just going “WHAT!?”

Something I love is seeing the multiple exits when Pomni is just going through them. You see how they are always similar to each other ? Some longer and some shorter but always office and also that Caine made it ? Its cool to see that because it's AI at work. He was creating exit after exit procedurally generating what it thinks, or rather, knows what the goal could be. 2 Things. 1 It's cool to see AI just trying to solve problems on it's own and seeing how and what it does to achieve steps in the correct direction towards it. 2 Him saying he never ended up finishing it, considering he's AI and has been trying to solve a problem put before him either shows that he is not completely AI or that he has grown his own consciousness and can now think for himself ( cause if AI is programmed to do something it will do it indefinitely, even if it is impossible )
So series creator, Gooseworx stated that despite Caine's penchant for taking humans captive and tormenting them through hilariously deadly circus games and tricks, he isn't actually outright evil, just obliviously mischievous.

So I don’t know if this has been pointed out yet but fun fact, this show is inspired by “I have No Mouth But I Must Scream.” The main difference being that here Caine at least seems to be trying to be somewhat benevolent with those trapped in his realm unlike the AI in IHNMBIMS who is just torturing them because it hates them

One thing someone commented on was that the first exit sign Pomni saw was an orange exit and then later she saw a red exit that led to Caine's unfinished area. Possible real exit? Or another fake?
Glitch is one of my favorite channels in all of youtube the animation skill presented in each of their series is genuenly crazy... they also often collaborate with other animation creators to give them the possibility of creating full fletched series.
The Amazing Digital Circus was invented and directed by Gooseworx who is well known for theyr colorfull and strange artwork aswell as doing some banger remixes of videogame music (Goose also did the soundtrack for this show).
In their previous/current show "Murder Drones" they collabed with the animator Liam Vickers who is well known for some really old (for youtube standarts) animated series like Cliffside and Internection Cube, both of wich unfortunately never got full series/finished.
This is good und got a lot of (deserved) hype.
But i think Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss is a little bit better.
I know, right now, it is too early to compare both shows because Helluva boss already has 2. Season (ongoing) and Hazbin Hotel only has the Amazing Pilot Episode (hopefully, the actual show can keep up with the Pilot), or it's just my Love for the Vivziepop Artstyl.
