Dave Lee Down Under I’m gonna ask Disney to put some of their newer CGI animated movies on 4K Ultra HD instead of their traditionally animated films like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, among a few others! I also want Disney to re-reissue The Lion King as a 25th Anniversary Circle of Life Collector’s Edition in 2019 this year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lion King and it would include some new bonus features like some for the 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King and I also want Disney to release Aladdin as part of their Signature Collection with some new bonus features including some for the 2019 live-action remake!
When it comes to Disney, the only thing consistent is inconsistency. Just a few examples: 1) Lenticular slipcovers (remember when that was a thing?) 2) Steelbook (not all Signature Collection movies were released in a steelbook) 3) Disc art (Best Buy) vs. plain blue and white discs (standard and Target exclusive) 4) Storybook vs. Digibook 5) Plain white or grey background with minimal artwork on the cover vs. elaborate and colorful artwork spanning the entire cover 6) Addition of the "Multi-Screen Edition" banner 7) Special Features all on disc vs. some on disc and some are digital only 8) Blu-ray vs. UHD Blu-ray 9) The Target Exclusive for The Lion King UHD included art cards instead of the storybook, whereas the blu-ray release of The Lion King did include a storybook 10) New transfer vs. same as Diamond Edition And these inconsistencies are just within the Signature Collection. Don't even get me started on the Diamond Edition!

6:18-7:40 If what you said is true, I'm hoping you make a comparison video on the Walt Disney Signature collection vs. The Diamond and Platinum Edition. The images do look very impressive.
I find it strange that Disney would not release the original film on 4K despite the Disney's own remake (2015) being released in this way. It's somewhat of an odd move considering that The Lion King and The Little Mermaid were just released on the format and both are Signature releases
It could be as simple as those previous two 4Ks not selling very well, or Disney assuming an older title wouldn’t sell well on 4K. Don’t forget Lion King and Mermaid were also the only two to get 3D releases, so they made exceptions for their bigger sellers.
This year is the anniversary for Sleeping Beauty. 60 anniversary. I don’t know why it wasn’t next. Cinderella’s anniversary is next year. But anyway I do plan to buy this edition if I don’t win (hint hint) lol. Nice video! Thanks for the information
Here in Brazil they haven't released the signature collection and they will not release, so Disney Brazil re-released the Diamond Editions of Snow White, The Lion King, Bambi and Beauty and the Beast, and the Platinum editon of Pinocchio and all of them in their original form even with the double discs
@@carminecdinoproductions That's actually nice I prefer the old editions than the new ones, the bad thing is that they never release the steelbooks from the classics :(
Diego Calderon I know that! Disney would often rerelease most of their classics on home media to celebrate a milestone anniversary of said animated classic or a live-action remake of said film!
I was on the fence about picking this up. The deciding factor was gonna be the potential of a new transfer. I had no idea we'd be getting the scene explore feature back. I'll definitely be buying this edition, even though I own the Diamond Edition. Might have to get that Best Buy steelbook.
I got to admit that the Best Buy exclusive is beautiful and tempting but I am probably not going to get this one . When I bought Cinderella years ago it was the bluray Dvd combo pack of all three films in a jewelry box. The images are likely clearer than mine but the jewelry box takes the cake.
My family double dips so we'll be getting the Target exclusive for animated Cinderella (I agree that this cover is even better than the regular release) for my sister and I think I'll get the Best Buy exclusive 4K steelbook for Cinderella 2015 for myself since I love this one the most of all the recent remakes. I don't have a 4K Blu-Ray player but that's ok, I just love how the steelbook is laid out!
I talked to someone in Disney Consumer Relations, who said that Walt Disney's Cinderella will very likely get a 4K release at some point in the future, but they don't have a tentative release date yet.
Consumer Relations are never incredibly reliable. There’s a possibility there was a 4K planned but cancelled, or they simply have information stating that there’s a 4K scab in existence. Also possible they confused it with the 4K of the remake. Over the years I’ve heard many reports of conflicting stories from different reps. I remember reading someone had had a Christopher Robin 4K confirmed too. I say, if we’re not getting a 4K now, very unlikely we’ll get one down the line.
