This past weekend, Rambo: Last Blood carved out a $19 million opening which bests the $18 million opening haul from the previous installment in the series simply titled Rambo. The film also received a "B" Cinemascore from audiences which bodes well for its possible overall take when their run is done. Although the marketing and promotion focused on the "savagery" and "brutal" aspects of the movie, the chemistry between the three main stars is a big part of it as well. In this installment, Sylvester Stallone's John Rambo seeks revenge for what happens to his "adopted" niece Gabrielle after she visits a small section of Mexico looking for her biological father. Played by Yvette Monreal (Stargirl), Gabrielle brutally suffers at the hands of a Mexican cartel after she defies Rambo and her grandmother Maria (Mexican acting royalty Adriana Barraza) when they encourage her not to go. The first part of the film focuses on building the chemistry of this pseudo family before opening the floodgates on the brutality. It's this easy, lived in chemistry between the three of them that inspires you to cheer on Rambo as he takes his bloody, graphic and heart stopping revenge.
Before the film’s release, I sat down with Sylvester Stallone, Yvette Monreal and Adriana Barraza to discuss what their experiences were like working with each other on the set. We discussed what they discovered about working with each other and Yvette and Gabriel revealed what surprised them most about Stallone. Sly also reveals how this chemistry differed greatly from the one they tried to build in 1997's Cop Land that also starred Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel and Anabella Sciorra. Not sure what critics were expecting out of this movie, but I had a GREAT time watching this movie!!

I disagree with the critics on this one. I really enjoyed this movie as I could tell Mr. Stallone has put his heart and soul into it. One who doesn't understand the character or the story of the franchise may only see the brutality but under that there's a lot of soul, tragedy and passion to this character. I really love the whole series and I was really sad that this was the last Rambo movie.
Truth, people with higher intellect could see what is he true meaning of rambo not all about brutality

I saw the film , it’s a revenge with brutal action ... I had a good time watching it , the film is not heavy , does not screw up , and goes to the point.
Anyone whose a parent will understand and appreciate what Stallone has done here. Some critics say that not enough character depth was given to the main villains of the movie, well let me tell you, the bad guys in this movie abducted young girls, drugged them, beat them, and sold them in the sex trade, who gives a shit about their backstory. I have no sympathy for them. Thing about Rambo is he never draws first blood.

I loved watching Rambo Last Blood with my boss from work in the cinema because we both love Rambo 🙂. It was a great ending and ended on a high note after all the years Sylvester Stallone has played John Rambo. The movie looked like they took some inspiration from Logan .
Those three as well as the other actors did an awesome job. After seeing it at a Drive in, I'm very happy to add to my Rambo collection.
Yup, this was a super fun movie. The critics have gone nuts, and are seeing things that are not there. The audience is loving it. ALSO: why is the american version of this film MISSING a SCENE in the beginning? Literally 10 minutes are missing. Apparently Rambo is a volunteer in the police or something, and he is shown saving people from a natural disaster.... that was nowhere to be seen at my screening at the Arclight in Pasadena, CA.

The last blood is more enjoyable if you watch the first movie, part 2 and 3, and the 2008. I felt it, I really cried on the last movie.
