What people don't know about Sly, is that he's also an amazing father. He took being a dad very serious off camera, and all his adult children grew up very well rounded. This man has aged very gracefully. Can't say a single thing bad about him.
”I did Rambo and he did Commando” Fallon: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! * spin chair * * slams table * * continues to laugh as if he just inhaled an entire tank of nitrous *
Funniest shit ever was the Sylvester Stallone cameo in "Last Action Hero" where Jack Slater(Arnold) visits a video rental store and there's a Terminator cardboard cutout with Stallone as the Terminator in it.
Trailer: "Back in their time, they were all stars. Way too expensive to cast. Way too proud to share the screen. Now they are old. Now they are... ...The Affordables". DUN-DUN-DUNNN
Stallone and Arnold's difference is that arnold is cool being on movies where he's not the main character or even where he's an antagonist. Stallone don't accept roles where he is not the main guy especially when he's the bad guy. That's why he declined the role as Terminator whereas Arnold accepted and look what happened, arnold made it into a franchise where they couldn't make one without him. Same with that han solo role. That is their real difference.
Stallone is the real man. He lost his only son a while ago yet he never knelt down and got devastated by the tragedy. There's a Rocky Balboa living inside him.
David Lawson There always has to be *"that guy,"* someone who will manipulate and stretch the meaning of someone's words. Stallone clearly loved his son, and it's good that he is still looking forward in life.
Not just action movies but movies in general - I spent a few hours one day looking at lists of movies that were released in the 80's and early 90's and nearly every week had an absolute classic in it.

Sharon Landry It's kind of bullshit if you've, as a young person, 'stole' someones extra pencil for class notes and done everything else in your life perfectly according to the Bible only to be thrown into Hell because of that incident with the pencil and you 'forgot' to repent for it (because 'stealing' is a sin and all that) and then are tortured for eternity. Sounds completely logical. Riiigggghhhtttttt. P.S - I'm an agnostic-theist btw. so don't try to bullshit me with a response. Just shut up and that goes to anyone else who might want to say something.

This guy is so charismatic. Arnold and him were the best and I'm so happy I was able to experience all their greatness growing up as a kid. Those action days will never come again.

I really love this guy. He is always getting shit from people because of the way he talks or the quality of his films or whatever, but him and Arnold have made an unprecedented contribution to Film and have almost single handedly defined the action genre. From Rocky to Cliffhanger to The Expendables, I think theyre all great and these guys dot get nearly enough praise as they should. And Sly a lot of the time writes his own stuff so he is a lot more than just an action star.
I agree much so...not so much with arnold....but sly did have some great movies.....and he did show his quality in copland. And the first Rocky...was the best of them....but my favorite....first blood....I could watch it a hundred times...it was a great storyline....not so much the rest....but that one was.
YES! Totally agree. Have you ever seen Oscar? It was from the 90's and is still one of the best comedies to this day. Rocky and Rambo defined action and sports movies and helped pave the way for thousands of industry ripoffs.
Steven Rix stallones biggest salary has been 35mil in year 2013... he never got near 75mil... arnold would get like 25mil and 25mil worth plane from T2 and always some % of ticket sales and stuff, he made good deals and hanks was of course pretty high in pay grade:)
Look folks , Sly is exaggerating / embellishing his hate for Arnold in the 80s . Yes they were competitive with each other in the 80s , but they were at least civil to each other for years , and crossed paths in the 80s more than people realize before they became Box office leaders in the 80s . They both were dating / spending intimate time with Bridgette Nielsen around 1985 - 1986 , so they shared the same taste in women . There's plenty of pics showing Sly hanging out with Arnold , and others at the Gym in the First Blood / Rocky 3 time period in 1981 / 1982 . I mean Sly was body building / getting ripped with Arnold's Best Friend Mr Olympia Franco Columbu in the early 80s . So maybe there was more of a Friend / Enemy deal going on with Sly , and Arnold in that era .
DarKKnightt07 1. Jackie Chan was always in the Action/Comedy genre. Still is. 2. He refused the role for expendables and good on him because the last Expendables was garbage.

Jimmy Fallon asking the guest a question, then gawking with fake surprise,, shock, disbelief, then interrupting or talking over the guest, mugging to the audience, and finally erupting into uncontrolable guffawing, all combine to account for 90% of the total airtime of the interview. The guest answers 6 to 10 words before being interupted or shouted over by Fallon and the few minor, and futile attempts by the guest to finish their answer comprises the balance 10%
He murders the flow of too many guest stories so that what is building up to a big laugh at the end dies with a whimper as he pulls up a framed pic we have seen 5 times already to cut off the guest. (Wonder if he's like that in the sack?) Fallon, you come across as a nice guy but for all that is good and pure in this world please shut up and let the guests speak, esp when they're telling great stories.

What Sly did with First Blood...in the end of the movie...that touches my heart as an Iraq War veteran. I had my wife watch First Blood. She went in thinking: "Oh, this is some stupid action movie." Well, she left with a whole new appreciation for Vietnam vets and the rest of us (Iraq) who struggle daily. I salute you, Sly. Thank you for bringing the pain of war and the reality of PTSD to the masses. Modern day Hollywood cannot capture the brilliance and realism that you portrayed. I wish Hollywood still made real movies...
I have rewatched all the Rambo movies recently and they make more sense to me now that I have grown and understand the character and the entire situation. First Blood and Last Blood are my favorites I think. Very moving movies. However I think its in Rambo 2, the first time he blows up a dude with the explosive arrow, that scene just ignites something hilariously dark inside of me. Oh man, so messed up and funny.
Anyone who grew up watching these action stars (Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger) know that there is no one who comes close to these class of action stars today. They were the best, hands down; a class in their own right; a class who exemplify a different era; a golden era really. They have may have been competitive arch nemesis’s but they managed to put on a show for decades of Hollywood entertainment and pure action. You have two men born on two different soils but who both solidify the dream that can only be made possible in America. On a deeper and more nationalistic level, they are patriots reminding us of what made this country so great.

Favorite movie from Stallone has to be Copland, I think he really showed his acting chops in it, and did a perfect performance. Guy is an icon, and the last rambo was pretty good also.
The Expendables is literally the best action movie franchise ever - SPECIFICALLY because all the guys in it understand the humorous aspect of tropey action films, embrace it and play up to it! If anyone thought those guys were being super serious it wouldn't have the magic (and would probably come off pretty sad and desperate), but , they love it, they're in on the joke, and it's awesome!

can i just say; sylvester stallone is probably the coolest name given to a human being ever.
+Sarah ...........I am probably much older than you, but I always think of Sylvester, the Cat with that name....the cat was far from cool...though humorous...
BC150YEARS what are you talking about? the cat was awesome
Agree...he was lovable and had all the traits of a good friend, but he got himself in more messes...put it this way: He was no Pink Panther...take care...Sarah
BC150YEARS that was very dramatic.... thank you
+Sarah Cooler than Supplex Johnson?
fallon needs to let his guest talk, stop with the interruptions
A lot of talk show hosts do that though
this was 5 years ago...
peasantt well it hasn’t changed
They get their story time and he doesn’t have all day to talk, it’s a talk show he has multiple guests that have to come on. So each guest gets a certain amount of time so he can’t let them go on forever

What people don't know about Sly, is that he's also an amazing father. He took being a dad very serious off camera, and all his adult children grew up very well rounded. This man has aged very gracefully. Can't say a single thing bad about him.

Didn’t Stallone’s son die of an overdose?
Meanwhile Arnold would screw all the maids he had
Jimmy Fallon: I read that you guys hated each other for a while.
Stallone: Well, we were very competitive... Yeah, I think hate’s a good word 😂😂😂
That was actually a really good reflex reaction by Stallone
Honestly I think Jimmy gave a real laugh for once at that one
Link to video where he said that?

It was pretty funny tho

It’s funny if you are old enough to remember the tension between Sly and Arnold back then.
2014: Sylvester Stallone hates Arnold
2019: Arnold congratulates Sylvester for Rambo
Hated* what did you read and what are you on?
Arnold comes to stallone's ear:I did it for the culture...I still hate you
i met arnold once couldnt stand him
Screw you
Would have been great to see Sylvester Stallone in the Terminator series.
Funniest shit ever was the Sylvester Stallone cameo in "Last Action Hero" where Jack Slater(Arnold) visits a video rental store and there's a Terminator cardboard cutout with Stallone as the Terminator in it.
Omg I haven’t seen this- I‘ll look for a clip now, thanks!
Stallone was considered to play Terminator
How about in twins where Arnold’s character sees a Rambo poster and looks at his own muscles and thinks nah I’m bigger and smiles lol!
He was? 😮 Didn’t knew that. 🙂
How about Demolition Man where Sandra's character mentions the Schwarznegger Presidential Library. Lmao.
Trailer: "Back in their time, they were all stars. Way too expensive to cast. Way too proud to share the screen. Now they are old. Now they are...
...The Affordables". DUN-DUN-DUNNN
Underrated
God damn, this comment is gold
teeheeheehee
THAT"S funny!!!!
Because he already made them all pay. The one who took his son, that is.
wisdomleader85 So not caring about his son makes him a real man?
David Lawson He did.
David Lawson
There always has to be *"that guy,"* someone who will manipulate and stretch the meaning of someone's words. Stallone clearly loved his son, and it's good that he is still looking forward in life.

There will never be a better era of action movies than there was during the late 80's and 90's
Agreed
It was the peak of those movies
Not just action movies but movies in general - I spent a few hours one day looking at lists of movies that were released in the 80's and early 90's and nearly every week had an absolute classic in it.
How long before Hollywood bans all guns in movies?
mid 80's...

Josh Spille can someone explain why it is so funny is it because the movie also meant naked?
Josh Spille laughed soooooo hard about it
Holy...IF you are gonna ask ,a question FOR GOD'S SAKE let him answer it stop talking over him . I want to hear Stallone ..I actually got angry .
^This.
He push it cuz he is worry of uncomfortable silences
Especially since he doesn't actually add anything to the conversation, he's basically just repeating whatever they just said in slightly different (or not) words.

@stan S well also is 6'2 and Sly 5'7 in height helps out.
Man, I miss the action movies of the 80's and 90's. Real men.
Today, all you see is feminized punks.
+dagda3000 Yeah, the Rock and Jason Statham and Liam Neeson are such sissies. What a stupid comment.

the last movies of all these guys have been terrible
You're fucking gay.

What do you mean by feminized punks?
+dagda3000 Absolutely right!
With the reputation this guy has with the way people talk about him I was shocked how smart he actually is. Goes to show that people tend to think actors are like their characters.

This guy is so charismatic. Arnold and him were the best and I'm so happy I was able to experience all their greatness growing up as a kid. Those action days will never come again.
@@GeorgeWashingtonLaserMusket You can also say the opposite. Who's to say there will be. I'm going by the last 30 years. That's enough proof for me to lean to one side. Maybe it does happen, I'll probably not be around to witness it.

Right on!
YES! Totally agree. Have you ever seen Oscar? It was from the 90's and is still one of the best comedies to this day. Rocky and Rambo defined action and sports movies and helped pave the way for thousands of industry ripoffs.
Sloth55Chunk
Fluffy Colt I love Oscar! Such an underrated comedy
There were 3 people that could cash in $75 million per movie in the 90s, it was Tom Hanks, Schwarzenegger and Stallone.
You forgot Bruce Willis. Then came Tom cruz. And then began the era of thin chocolaty characters who would call themselves 'action' heroes. -_-
LOL "Tom Cruz". He was awesome in Algunos Hombres Buenos.
Steven Rix stallones biggest salary has been 35mil in year 2013... he never got near 75mil... arnold would get like 25mil and 25mil worth plane from T2 and always some % of ticket sales and stuff, he made good deals and hanks was of course pretty high in pay grade:)
schwartzy65 When you compare money from yester-years then include inflation and then compare.
Ritwik An and what movie sly has made 75mil if count inflation?
Basically it was a love/hate relationship.
@@secondchance6603 Basically like the Swartzenegger / Ferigno Frenemie situation 😂

When is jackie chan going to be in the expendables?
Jackie chan is no longer in the action genre he moved to the comedy genre, no one wants a funny asian guy in an action film
DarKKnightt07 1. Jackie Chan was always in the Action/Comedy genre. Still is. 2. He refused the role for expendables and good on him because the last Expendables was garbage.
If you have to appear in an Expendables movie you are desperate for money. lol

I like first blood but there is plenty of Hollywood movies dealing with PTSD. Plus Sly turned the franchise into stupid action movie
Yes very sad for the millions of iraqi civilians killed
I have rewatched all the Rambo movies recently and they make more sense to me now that I have grown and understand the character and the entire situation.
First Blood and Last Blood are my favorites I think. Very moving movies.
However I think its in Rambo 2, the first time he blows up a dude with the explosive arrow, that scene just ignites something hilariously dark inside of me. Oh man, so messed up and funny.
Stallone actually dodged the draft.

Good stuff, I own all three.
I love how ready stallone was with saying "commando" it's still living in his head rent free
Jimmy Fallon has the most fake laugh and table slap
Luis Giraudy hahahahaha
One of the funniest comments i've read, i think it was on Reddit, after some shit about Fallon, "-proceeds to slap the table so much that it creates a portal to a dimension where tables slap you". xD
Wow, so I'm not the only one who noticed...
He's such a no talent kiss ass.
This dimension is Soviet Russia xD
Sly and Arnold will be a great tandem if Contra is made into live-action. Besides, Lance Bean and Bill Rizer were based on them. But I guess that won't happen.
They could make a nice Contra movie...
Yo... Contra
up up down down left right left right A B start??
They are too old for a Contra movie. But who knows, they both are still fucking ripped.
No its - Press "up, down, left, right" hold down "A" & "B", then press "start"
This would have been a great clip if Jimmy wasn't in it
laughs in Jimmy Fallon
Here you go: th-cam.com/video/-k6JZDWTHhI/w-d-xo.html
Lucky Red it would be better if it was Craig Fergusson
I say this all the time
I've always loved both guys. Rocky is my hero , he wasn't supposed to win but he never gave up. And Arnold in the Terminator 👍casting him was brilliant.
I've just noticed Fallon somehow laughs more with his body than his mouth
No one:
Literally no one:
Not even sylvester stallone :
Jimmy Fallon : hueHuehUehuEhEUHueHUe
Harkharkhakrhakr snortsnortgortgort
Harharharh har har har har
*spins chair
* slams table
Dustin Chan good try kinda funny jk very funny
Dustin Chan Are you three?
@@babytricep437 do you even understand the joke
I thought we moved past the "No one" jokes.
It's weird seeing people continually making these jokes even years later. Are these fans of Jimmy just roasting him, or what? I'm new to these videos so I really have no idea.
I love how his summation of Star Wars is "a thing about a space vehicle"
Sly is one great actor. I love anything with him in it. The Rocky's and Rambo's were excellent. And the one of movies he acted in like Tango and Cash Cobra and Over The Top were fantastic
I agree...but I don't agree with his hotel hijinks.

Sly: "I'LL DO IT!!!!"
Jimmy, Stop It.
Obi-Wan Kenobi he seems to be on top of things
Fake Kenobi
Because he is on a somewhat elevated position?
Obi-Wan Kenobi GENERAL KENOBI!
Hello there
40 years later he's a Ravenger in Guardians of the Galaxy
Stallone and Arnold brought out the best of their talents while in competition with each other and we benefited from it with the best action movies from their time.

Jimmy? Well, i thought if jimmy wasn't laugh, it would be awkward for jimmy and stallone
bobby4500 i can't really like Fallon because of that. He looks like he got this job by mistake and is highly uncomfortable with it. Has he always been a weirdo, always been laughing like that?
He looks so awkward all the time
***** to be honest i think that's part of his appeal.
***** Right on! He couldn't shine Johnny carson's shoes.
bobby4500 We all have jobs to do.
Stallone and Arnold are friends in real life just very competitive.
C'mon. Don't booshet me.
The Expendables 4 should take place in a retirement home. I'm not even kidding or trying to be snarky. That would be pretty cool.
Kind of like the movie "RED" ... you know that would actually be pretty awesome.
That would be really cool though
Too bad the oldies have way better physique than you
@Al Rivera, Stallone actually said in an interview with IGN that the fourth movie should be called "The Dependables". He had fun with it.
That'd be too akin to Last Vegas!
Loved Fallon's Schwarzenegger's impersonation. Man, I wish I was in the same room with these guys. It would be a blast.
Sly: “I wouldn’t look good in space”
Guardians of the Galaxy 2: “am I a joke to you?”
Why are his hands so huge?! His wife must be a lucky lady...
hgh..........growth hormone makes everything big
So..big hands make wifes happy?
human growth hormone .....he's been on it for over 20 years or more
yes............i have use hgh for 10 years and so does testosterone depo
overseas
You can't not love this man!
yea he is adorable...
Yeah u can hes perfection
Best role model in Hollywood, they haven't produced a good role model since John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, in my opinion, I like Mark Wahlberg and Kurt Russell as well.
How can we not love this guy 😆 he is brilliant 😂

Funniest line ever:
Jimmy: You would do Rambo and he would do...
Sylvester: COMMANDO!!!!! 3:00
First: It's Commando, second, it's not that funny, you can see Fallon's laughter is so fake!
He didn’t even hesitate a second when he said Commando lol
And the fake laughter that followed 😁
Only Fallon didn't find it funny, The audience did. Fallon only finds Fallon funny...trying saying that 5 times fast! :D
