Stallone's monologue at the end of First Blood when he's talking to Trotman about his friend dying in his arms still gives me chills to this day.. Truly an incredible acting performance!

The attention to detail in First Blood is also alot better than in many modern action movies. Like one of these examples is that Rambo actually holds a M16 by the carrying handle when he's running through the forest. There's so many movies that get things like this wrong, but what stood by me is that in First Blood every detail mattered and was right. It was and still is absolutely amazing.

I have always looked up to Sylvester Stallone as a kid and i love watching Rocky and the Rambo movies 🙂. I have such a huge respect for Sly for his hard work :)

Rambo is basically a retelling of Achilles in the Iliad, which at its essence talks about the character dissolution of the warrior, what is now called battle PTSD. Psychologists know much about this condition now which wasn’t really considered for millennia despite Homer telling us about it for thousands of years. Rambo and Vietnam veterans became the catalyst to understand Achilles who in turn became the guide to understand the veterans and the condition. Rambo, Stallone’s Rambo, is the closest to the correct solution for these men.

What a hustler. Respect. The dude is the most unlikely movie star ever. Super ethnic Italian, barely intelligible, heavy urban accent, w/ half his face paralyzed. Becomes 1 of the biggest, most induring stars in history, a global institution. Incredible.

Robert Redford did a somewhat similar film to First Blood with Jeremiah Johnson,where his character-a mountain man-takes on hundreds of hostile Indians all over the American wilderness. In Jeremiah Johnson, Redford's character is told by the Indians that he's not wanted in the area, refuses, violates an Indian graveyard and ends up in a one man war with the Indians.

He’s great! I think his most underrated movie is F.I.S.T.! He does a lot of talking in that movie and shows just what a great actor he is!
I am trying to find the movie when Rambo went to Vietnam to rescue the POWs...most people say that movie does not exist..it cannot be found anywhere.

Telling the audience reaction when he talks about giving returning soldiers a house :( Very sad every venue of this type is full of people like this. Breaks my heart they do not understand what gives them the ability to sit in an auditorium and listen to an actor answer questions for a couple hours with NO WORRIES whatsoever.

When someone is homless we should help them. Makes no difference who they or who we are.

Sly. The "expert showman". Was born to be a Hollywood actor action star. He always knows exactly how to be in an interview. Entertaining, humble and never one to put down a fellow actor.
So much of it is about luck and timing. Had Sly walked a little faster out of that one audition the "right people" wouldn't have had a chance to call him back to look at the Rocky script he had in his hand. Then there would never have been a Sly Stallone in Hollywood. No Rocky or Rambo films.
Funny how life works out. Same for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not sure what his first b ig break was to get him into film. I think his first film was Hercules In NY. Had he not been a champion...some place at the right time...producers wanting a huge bodybuilder then...we wouldn't have Arnold either. How many pro bodybuilders today have never been asked to be in film and never will...?

These actors absolutely adore having their egos stroked. It always been amazing to me how they put on different masks depending on the situation. And I'm not talking about the acting masks. I'm talking about the "this who I really am" mask. I'm talking about my "charming, engaging, down to earth persona I turn on when red carpets and reporters with softball questions" mask that is a mere act. I know a small few are genuinely good people. A small few. At the end of the day,....they are false idols worshipped by the masses. Period.

Rambo First Blood was everything we needed. Every other Rambo was a disservice to the thing - maybe John Rambo was still ok but far from memorable and great. I think Sly was lucky with the first one and lost track ... It could have been great.
war veterans should be able to get free housing forever or for an extended amount of time until they can build back up to civilian life. Free health care should be a #1 priority aswell because so many have ptsd or trauma from being in war and should get as much free help as possible. The way that our country treats our veterans is disgusting, it has gotten better but still needs improvements especially since how our country says we care about our veterans but in reality the government cares very little about them

Each one should have its own merit n judge like so

I hate to have to say this because I never like to put people down but the interviewer comes across as weak in comparison to Stallone. Sadly, the calibre of stars and interviewers has diminished to such an extent that it's embarrasssing.
