    I am so thankful that they have been putting so much love into AoE3. I always thought if they remastered it, I probably should not expecting new civilizations, let alone further expansion packs. This makes me so happy and really breathes some needed life into one of the best RTS games ever, alongside it's older brother AoE2. Great video, it's always fun to get your perspectives on AoE3.

    The tower units for Ethiopia are an outlaw type units. Why they cost extra pop. There actually a bit on the cheap wise pop wise I say. But if one is going to regularly use them, I recommend getting a card that reduce their cost by 1 pop. That means they cost as much as regular units. Quite a big change. Their cool units, so might very well be worth getting the card.

    The new African civs are so much fun to play. I love how the AoE III DE development team have continued to create innovative new mechanics for the newly released civilisations rather than just following the vanilla civilisation format. The only downside to this is that the vanilla civilisations seem kind of dull afterwards.

    Fun fact: That was actually the correct choice. AI was making Chimu Runners (Shock Infantry) and although UI says that Gascenyas are strong against "cavalry", shock infantry in AoE3 bears the same role as hand cavalry thus have the same counters as hand cavalry.

      @@temporaryname8905 good point. However, you could also say that if you go for an outlaw army, which requires a lot of pop, you need to protect your houses from heavy infantry, like plumed spearman. SotL probably didn't consider that, but it would otherwise justify training archers

    Hey, why not an introduction game for every III civ, just for the sake of converting some of the most hardcore AoE II fans, haha!
    For Hausa/others pick up map like Amazonia or Orinoco- it will naturally make rush tactics harder/less viable and give you more time to mess around and show off mechanics and civilization.. Especially Amazonia with river that completely separates both players/teams.

    Firstly, this civ seems super interesting. "Adapting" to the game by allying with certain nations to adjust your civ on the fly seems like a very interesting mechanic, tho the whole influence vs coin aspect sounds like it could easily become a hassle in the faster AoE3.

    • @kelvinsomnia

      It’s not too different from the Asian civs, where you build a consulate and get the option to turn a small percentage of all resources you collect into Export, which you spend the same way as influence. The main difference is your consulate isn’t tied to a mine or anything, so you’ll only build one unless it’s destroyed.

The best cav for Ethiopia are the shotel early game. Don't even bother with jav riders vs infantry civs. Also, to survive vs Hardest you need a very tight eco. You built about 10 extra houses and lost 1000 wood that could have turned the tide.

    Influence can be used for a Sudanese rush, which is powerful. The Sudanese unit from the palace (which is easy to get in Age 2's Palace card), have good siege, a good ranged, and are really powerful up close. They cost a healthy sum of influence, but that means your not eating your other resources so it doesn't slow down your econ, and you can mix and match with watchtower or barracks units.

      One of the north American natives civilization has rams like aoe 2 civs, siege guys and the like.
      Ethiopia or the housa get European/middle eastern/ India cannons and stuff with cards or alliances
      It's really fun

      Ethiopians are so OP in WoL though. Neftenyas wreck everything unless the enemy gets a ton of cannons or grenadiers.

    Only I feeling Aoe2 is harder and faster than Aoe3?
    I can beat hardest AI in Aoe3 with ease, yet get my ass kicked by HARD AI in Aoe2.

      Hmm. Hardest in AOE3 is harder than 5 months ago but practice will bring you up to level. Same with aoe2 where I use to be able to beat hardest.

    Are the Shotel Warriors similar to the Age 2 ones?
    As someone who hasn't played Age 3 in about 13 years, it seems odd that you can take down a TC in the Feudal age, I mean the uh, second age

    • @ozisponas1593
      @ozisponas1593 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      lots of strong inf siege units age 2 for most factions
      just get a big enough blob and sieging tc is no problem
      unless enemy takes town militia card then you prolly won t siege it age 2

    So, rundown on the painted desert.
    No trade route- this means XP is not going to be very high so your cards are not going to be useful.
    Natives- you get both economic and military bonuses from Apache and Navajo, and both have fast counterunits.
    Resources: treasures are average and you might get some nice ones with XP, wood is low, gold is slightly above average, but tons and tons of bison and cows. The Ethiopians should do very well on this map once that wood is invested in the livestock market. However, it looks like sometimes there's less food and more gold and wood on this map, which could be RNG or could be a DE thing.
    It's nice and wide open, but that makes it hard to defend. The line of villages puts them on the front line, so most of the combat is going to be around them and the neighboring resources.

      Looks like towers have the equivalent of tavern and monastery units- outlaws. They're tough but expensive in gold and pop. Good if you have those but not the time to make a real army yet.

    • @Tareltonlives
      @Tareltonlives 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd invest in the Shotel warriors if you've got the gold. They can chase off the archers and spearmen and do your own raiding. They're ideal for fighting the Aztecs and Incas. Gascenyas are basically muskteer pikemen: ranged but cheap anticavalry. Not ideal vs archers but you can spam them.

    why is there no one talking about how the flag is messed up or am I missing something? on google it shows the flag the other way around green-yellow-red

    • @baloonman5
      @baloonman5 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      According to Wikipedia, before 1914 the flag was red yellow green, but it was flipped to green yellow red for unknown reasons. Aoe3 takes place roughly between the 1500's to the mid 1800's, so the older flag is accurate.
