The tone ring is there haha. There are a few reasons it might sound that way. It's possible I may have had the head tuned to F instead of G#. Additionally the head is a fiber skin remo instead of a frosted top. I also find this banjo naturally has an uneven tone going up the neck (it gets a little thumpier up the neck especially on the third and fourth string).
@@carsonsass9875 I love the way the fiber skin looks on your banjo! Super sharp with the gold. I tried one years ago but it didn’t last long, was just too heavy for my taste in sound.
Man!!!! You got smoke coming off your fingers buddy!!! Is that a Gibson? Love the sound. I'm reteaching myself after a 10 plus year break. Right now I have a Morgan Monroe Rocky Top. A Stelling Red Fox is on the bucket list though.
Hey thanks, man! That's a Prucha Legend Hearts & Flowers model. It was built in 2007 and I picked up about 6 years ago. I am glad to hear you are picking the banjo back up!
Thank you, Jeanie! I've been thinking about you recently and hope you are doing well. I want to go to American Banjo Camp this year. Maybe there will be a chance for me to visit you.
@@carsonsass9875 , a dear friend of mine will be teaching there, so I'll be doing pick up and drop off before he stays with us for a while. So yeah, let's plan to meet up! Check out Stephen Wade. He is one unique and brilliant guy.
Wow... You're awesome dude. Gonna have to try and learn this one lol. Subbed.
Carson.great picking on Blackjack Mr Crowe would be proud.❤❤❤
It's a clever twist on Reno's 'Charlotte Breakdown' but JD goes to the F chord instead to change it. nicely played sir.
Awesome tune and skill. Thank you for sharing!
The banjo sounds hollow it might not have a tone ring
