Cool banjos! If you have time, please consider doing a comparison video. Looks like the Nechville is more-or-less a Bela setup, while the Prucha is more of a straight-ahead bluegrass setup?
Thanks! I will consider that. You are correct - I prefer the Nechville when I am playing melodic or progressive styles like Bela because it maintains the same soft and sweet tone up and down the neck. The Prucha has a lot of volume which is great for bluegrass in addition to having more of a classic bluegrass tone, however, the tone up the neck has less note distinction and sounds heavy (for lack of a better description) which makes it less desirable for single-string picking, personally.
Thanks Kevin! It's great to hear from you. I haven't been playing with anyone recently. My brothers are busy with separate ventures, and as for myself, I am finishing my bachelor's degree this semester and will graduate in May. So I have also been busy focusing on school. However, in my free time I have re-discovered my joy of learning Scruggs-style bluegrass tunes and trying to improve my tone as well as develop my personal style on the banjo. I hope you and your family are safe and well!
Bb with the tuner set to 448 and slight tension from the campo. 😅 I think I was messing around with some old Flatt and Scruggs recordings and didn't retune to 440.
Excellent tempo. I like your combination of Scruggs and Bill Keith.
J.D. would be proud. 😊
Thank you!
So clean!
Thanks!

Thank you, Jamie!

Thank you! And thanks for the follow! I would love to hear more of your playing. Your video of the Davis banjo sounds so good! 👍👍
