@@DarkFrozenDepths This game's controls have always felt super clunky. Dodging is also a pain with all of those offscreen attacks. I haven't played rabi rabi but Unworthy and Hallow Knight seem to be some of the best recent indie metroidvanias.
Lewder Metroidvania-style Bloodbourne? It even has magnificent ladders 8:24. I'm sold Update: He even mentions the magnitude of the ladder himself Zeus would be so proud 17:23. Let's see if we find more magnanimous ladders. Update: More ladder mentioning. This one in a different colour apparently, think it's a bit darker... a rusty ladder. Nice! 35:02 also the cat sounds like a squeaky-toy when she get's hit which is hilarous. 10/10
Surprised the only mentions of Halfcoordinated's incredible run came from donations. I kind of expected SNeaky or one of the people on the couch to at least acknowledge it.
Can someone link the momodora discord? i absolutely love that game and wanna start running it. When it came out on switch yesterday i 100%ed it and got all the items and bugs in about 3 hours, it's so much fun
Is it me or does the commentary for each run consist of explanations of speedrun strats, game mechanics and not much aside from that? Negligible amount of humour or witty remarks at most, and even those sound eerily family-friendly.
Well what else do you expect? They're not professional streamers, lets players or entertainers. They're just good at games, and any charisma is honestly just a bonus.
Thats how these speedruns should be. It is also way more interesting to hear how the game works and why they do what they do, instead of having to listen to someone try too hard to make you laugh like Game Grumps.
AGDQ is an opportunity for the runners to showcase the techiques they use to a larger audience, letting them explain the techniques. Usefull for those sho want to implement these techs for the viewers own playthroughs
Runner introduction starts at 0:05.
Run starts at 1:02
Couch commentary is provided by Scrublord and Straxrarus.
KrunchyLex is the host.
I felt bad when the announcer had to go and no one said anything.
Bye announcer! You were great!
i'll save 7 seconds with the elevator trick
proceeds to die 6 times and loses 2:30 minutes...
LMAO
Not one of my finest moments :D
But he got the trick like 4 times, saving 7 seconds each time that's a 28 second time save
17:23 Momodora: Snake Eater under the Moonlight
THIS is a badass metroidvania. Glad to see it ran and get some exposure. Highly recommend.
The best Indie Metroidvania ish games to me are this, and Rabi-Ribi...

Momodora is such a cool game. Very hard, especially when playing for the first time at a slower pace, but the skill ceiling is crazy!
he was flying through that enviornment
I´ve played all 4 games, and this one is my favorite
The game is from Brazil btw
LOL TRUE? I mean, I am a brazillian and only beated this game some days ago
theres a lot of good 2d indie games from Brazil, what's up with that
Definitely, Momodora 2 takes the second place for me. 4>2>3>1, if you ask me, haven't played Minoria yet but it's on my wishlist!

GDQ show cases games I have never heard of and some them look really fun as well :)
Great run! Love the soundtrack of the level at around 29:00 btw :)
I tried running on insane once but it ended up being a cat-astrophe.
4:05 what the heck is that fairy?
in the room he enters at 29:54, the markings on the wall tell you of the special fairy summon attack. Up, up, down, down, left, right.
omg i love this game
Only played this game on normal but runs like this make me want to play it again on Hard
all of a sudden momodora is super popular
AH I REALLY ENJOY MOMODORA
I just played this game this past summer! Great to see it at gdq
This is my favourite Bubsy game.
The angel mini boss was my favorite fight
34:57 Sneaky says the ladder is a different color, but the ruddy red is just the color of ladders in Karst City and Castle. Or am I missing something?

It should be be a Feline-y to miss this run. :)
