The fact the porsche couldnt catch a damaged ferrari while in draft range is insane. Good work keeping it on the track!
I think its a much needed change. It felt like before the meatball flag was far too common for relatively manageable damage. You would get minor steering dent, and get thrown a meatball, thus ending your race when you could otherwise continue on and manage it.
P1 fastest lap is half a tenth slower than his average lap time. I assume off-track laps are not computed for best lap time. But what incredible consistency, even on 1x'es.
It’s my first paid car in iRacing and I love it! Tbh for me it’s very easy to drive and it gives me so much fun, not like the GT3 cars in ACC or mods for Assetto Corsa. GT3 cars in ACC are like… sliding everywhere? Idk it’s weird for me to drive them. I don’t feel anything like this in iRacing tho
I think the 296 is an absolutely brilliant car to drive Dave.
We raced round Monza last night and I was happy with how it drove.
I can't blame it for me sending it into the back of someone at the second chicane.

The update also made aero damage affect downforce more than straightline speed, which is why you were still able to properly race. Great change IMO.
Hi Dave! Was fun racing against you at the end, I’m the one in the Porsche. I got taken out at T1 lap 7 I think from a guy who just pretended I wasn’t there on his inside, I felt like I could’ve got ya but the Porsche understeered heaps in parabolica

For anyone wondering, the new damage system from S4 2023 means meatballs are less likely and damage affects downforce more than just a pure top speed cut.
Excellent video, as always! Have you had the chance to test the Porsche Cup 992 after the latest build/update? I've noticed it has too much understeer. Is it my impression, or have other people also observed this issue?

There is a rear view camera on the right hand side but you can only see it with higher FOV /triple screens

I think some triple screens are set up in a way that makes the corners look different from what you see when using a single screen.

What does meatball/no meatball mean in this context?
It's the black flag with an orange circle (meatball) meaning you have to pit for repairs.

Do many of the GT3 cars have snap oversteer? Looks like a little in this new Ferrari. I just purchased the Ford GT and trying out the fixed series race at Monza. The snap oversteer in that thing is relentless. This is my first GT3 car.
Considering how old you are I'm surprised at your pace.
