The start of this episode was actually really sad. The fact people like seeing dogs and other animals fight eachother to the death is very sad and disgusting. People like that are truly heartless and deserve prison

What? No they’re not! Sadly they’re popular. Ever heard of animal products and testing? And how they feed nonhuman animal products in prison? And how most of the big companies still support and pay for it and promote it? And most people mindlessly and heartlessly gobble it up because the animated singing dancing smiling versions of the trillions of victims a year say so...
And most people don’t even know what it means to love let alone be an animal lover. It doesn’t mean arbitrarily finding ones cute while ignoring what is done to them elsewhere nor does it mean to support and ignore causing the most horrific hell and slaughter to others just like them and us which also destroys everyone and the planet at an alarming rate, because it tastes and looks delicious.
Not if you're rich or famous. Especially not if you're an NFL player. Then you won't even get two years in prison and can go on to continue being a wealthy 'role model'.

David Harbour appeared so many times in Law & Order franchise playing many different characters, mostly evil characters. I think because he was a New York actor. It wasn’t until he played a good sheriff in Stranger Things, they stopped pigeonhole him.
Uh, I think it's his face that made him play the evil guy on L/O. I have never watched Stranger Things, but from what I understand it's about a bunch of abnormal kids. If DH plays a good sheriff in a town of weird kids that tracks.
Oh my gosh!!! I didn't even connect him to Stranger Things from here. He has underplaying down to a science!
I think his role on The Newsroom probably contributed a lot to him breaking out, actually, because it was very against type and showed he wasn't necessarily a character actor, but didn't he also do a lot of stage work in NYC? That can have a big impact on a career, too.

Jeremy Sisto breaking at the end of the "I'm learning to count to 10." line makes me wonder how many bloopers there are of him breaking too early. That line caught me so off guard, just about killed me.
The opening scene had me shaken and crying. I couldn't help but think about my own dog and finding him like that. My God; I can't even write it much less think it. People who do this to beautiful loving animals deserve the worst punishment possible.
2 words: Talion Law. Monsters like that deserve the same pain they inflicted on others.

People try to devalue the cost of an animal's life compared to a human's but those same people especially ones that involve themselves in such inhumane activities should showcase a mental problem that we as the masses should be scared of and ostracize because those people aren't just going to stop their cruelty toward animals it's the first sign of psychopath/sociopath Behavior they do it to animals because they know they can get away with it but sooner or later they're going to want to do it to humans and who is mostly targeted: children, women, and the elderly.
Just to clarify I am not for animal abuse whatsoever but the way the detectives handled this is something that is echoed through Society and very rarely do they see the real problem that could actually impact them

Ugh, I hate the thought of these people using bait animals that are just normal pets. I can't stand the thought of finding out my cat was mauled to death by those psychopaths.
Years ago, the news started telling residents in the south east area of the city to keep their cats inside. Some owners were using felines as chew bait to train their drug/fight dogs.
This disgusting practice happens more than people know about...

These humans are not eating the remains, nor are they feeding these remains to their dogs (not that either scenario would make taking someone else's pet to do it acceptable). They just let the dog maul the animal to death to train the prey and kill drive so they'll be more violent animals.

@@prettyevil6662000 Tigers and lions don't "caress" their prey to death. They maul them. The same as the dogs. Unlike humans, carnivores eat only when they're hungry, and that involves killing their prey. It's the way nature works.
A person needs psychological help if he/she thinks the DOGS here are psychopaths. I am sure the original poster has understood the point I was making.
However, given the way you've defended her, I think someone should simply lock YOU up and throw away the key.
@@satyannair4837 it’s not the killing that’s the problem. The problem is taking a pet and baiting an attack that doesn’t end in eating. Really the problem he has is not the dog attacking anyways it’s the human instigating it. Dogs are domesticated. They are not lions. They do have wild tendencies but they are not indeed wild and do not usually attack unprovoked. The psychopaths are the humans laughing at pain. And yes those people numb to or excited by the pain they see or inflict need help not the people with empathy for the pain they see.

Look up what nonhuman animal products and testing cause and involve. For them and you and the planet.
People commenting on Green's flippant attitude toward the dead dogs are forgetting that Green served as partner to NYPD gallows comedian Lennie Briscoe, probably the most callous legend to ever serve on the force, a man who could witness four murders in the course of a day and not stop cracking a joke the entire time. Compared to Briscoe, Green is showing saintly patience and empathy here.
It's sometimes heart wrenching to hear detectives say they don't care about dead pets wrongfully killed. I understand but still hurts

I look at it more like they only have so much emotional bandwidth available for their careers. If they let themselves get upset over dead animals, they may not have enough compassion or whatnot available left for those who need it later. I dunno about you, but just thinking about my recently deceased pet screws me over for a good hour or so. So compartmentalizing might be a necessary evil for them, and it may come off a bit insensitive or crass.
Also take in consideration you can become emotionally dull when you are investigating all kinds of murders for years. When dead people don't bother you anymore, it goes the same for pets, I guess.
@@carmensandiego328 I'm sure he cares deeply. But he investiagtes human homicides and is also probably backed up with work. He probably needed to get back to it and let the people who specialise with animal crimes do their job.
if an officer walks me into a dog fight in which my baby was used as a bait dog, they will only be making one arrest that day. Because the perpetrators will not have survived that.

confused by the beginning. the fact that the dogfight was discovered by two people tracking down a missing pet that was microchipped is odd. the microchipped dog mustve been the smaller dog used as bait, which means the people who arranged the dog fight in the first place mustve stolen it

They start these dog fights by getting them "thirsty for blood" by using bait animals which 99% of the time are stolen pets.

it was actually a GPS tracking collar. Some people use them cause their animal either gets out a lot, they want to know where their wondering animal is, or in other cases hunters using them for their hounds. Which in this case it looks like the little dog got out and ran into the wrong people, or should I say monsters because in my book they're monsters for doing this.
It still sick what happened to the dognapped pet. I would have been crying out and screaming a lot of colorful words at the people if I had found my beloved cat dead and ripped apart because sick in the head monsters thought something like this is fun to watch, they should be in jail for dogfighting and dognapping.

This hits me in a really hard. I work with shelter dogs and I just can’t imagine. Ugh these things happen in real life all the time. Pitbulls are used as fighting dogs all the time. Poor babies are tortured and abused. They get such a bad wrap and they’re the really the sweetest things.

The wine dealer and the reporter (his girlfriend) did it. His wine business was a scam and wife was nosing around her husband's business dealings.

@@gracieamazing2076 the finger found in the dog belongs to the estranged wife of Carlin's friend, Marty Vance. The theory was that Vance killed his wife because he was hiding assets. Vance was initially arrested. But as it turns out, one of those assets was Carlin's wine business, which the DA's office learns is fraudulent (he was bottling new wine in vintage bottles). The reporter, who we later see hooking up with Vance, was actually Carlin's squeeze, and she was two-timing Vance to keep the heat off of Carlin, who killed Vance's wife to cover up his fraudulent wine biz. The curtain falls when Cutter, during trial prep with the reporter, feeds her false information that they found footprints at the kennel where the dogs were being held. She and Carlin then go to the kennel to try to destroy the footprints, only to have Cutter waiting for them, and they are arrested for the murder.

If I was tracking one of my dogs and cops allowed me to enter a dog fighting ring where I saw my dog being attacked, those running the dog fight would be begging for the police to save them cause I'd be ripping hearts out of chests with my bare hands

That dog's got some weird biology going on. The finger was found in the large intestine, which is at the very end of the digestive process after the food has been thoroughly dissolved and broken down and the only thing left is actual sh!t.

After a human finger comes into play, shouldn't they have all been immediately arrested as suspects for aggravated assault or homicide?
Not without the rest of the body, or more evidence, right now they are an easy case for animal cruelty and Illegal gambling since they were caight in the act, the finger was in a dogn that noone claim ownership so you need more evidence for aditional charges

This reminds me of a video I saw on a documentary on dog eating. These people would go to neighborhoods and kidnap pets and take them to the slaughter. Really makes me appreciate I never grew up in such place and instead strays are loved.
in China they purposely torture dogs and other animals to make them “taste better”. Boiling and other disgusting things. I hope the skin on every single human who did these things and enjoyed these things gets their skin flayed as boiling water is poured into their exposed flesh.

@@JasonHook9 Fair enough. I don't know enough about the presence of DNA to be sure if you can get enough DNA off a toothbrush to disagree with you. I'd think that if you haven't used your toothbrush for more than a week then the DNA you'd be able to get off it wouldn't be enough to compare with skin cells off a finger but maybe that's correct.

The finger in dog story did actually happen. It was in a house in Schiedam, Netherlands. The owners came home and found their dog gagging and in distress. They took the dog to the vet who extracted several human fingers from the dog’s throat. The owners rushed back home and found a burglar in one of the closets. He’d passed out from blood loss.

This is absolutely disgusting. This is not to their dog not that it would be OK if it was their dogs but it’s even worse that they are taking someone else’s dog and using it as bait for a dog fight. I had a large dog growing up I had a massive, and whenever somebody was talking about dogs being stolen and dogfights in my hometown everybody in my family was worried about her dog. We wouldn’t leave him in the backyard by himself. We wouldn’t keep them tied up outside of stores if we stopped at the corner store during a walk, I would stay outside with him or I would go in the store, and my dad would stay outside with him. We would never leave him alone because we were terrified that they would steal him and use him for dogfighting. He was the sweetest dog in the world but because of his size we knew he would be a target.
