I agree. There should be a better form of compensation. However, I don't think paying them like professionals will help. College sports is not a career, its a four-year plan. Maybe providing them with an allotted amount of funds by graduation. It would be like a savings plan for the future. What I really think needs to be done is helping them in their studies. Helping them actually graduate and have more of a future. Like I stated, coming out of school debt free is pretty good. Having a degree will enable them to get their foot in the door for jobs. The system is broken, and I don't refute that. But how much do you pay, and does everyone get the same amount? I think that is a big issue as well.
