How to fix college football. 1. Move the playoffs final rankings until after the bowls 2. Play all the bowls like they were in the BCS era without the championship game though, this would prevent most opt outs 3. Get rid of the conference championship game week and just do 1v2 on down in each conference and use playoff rankings week 12 of the season. 4. Cap freshman NIL at 100k 5. Cap NIL at 1 million 6. Only allow 1 transfer from FBS to FBS unless the coach leaves 7. Limit the transfer portal to spring only, move the 2nd signing day to march and make the transfer portal open the day after the championship game. 8. 8 team playoff using the BCS system have committee do the matchups though to prevent immediate rematches, use the AP, Coaches, Committee, Computers 25 percent each, has to be an open model computer can't be secret like the FPI. 9. 8th team is replaced by the highest ranked mid major if they are in the top 16.

I totally believe that the athletes who make the university tens of millions per year should get paid, but in order to keep it fair/reasonable I believe the payment across all schools per year should be capped at around 150k per year and nothing like houses/cars either. Give them a wage that they could sustain a decent quality of life while they get free college btw, plus set their futures up well. Also the transfer portal should be closed until the end of the playoffs and not open up in the postseason.

I dont think there needs to be a salary cap because you know for a fact some teams will try to find any sort of loophole or just slide money under the table. What I think needs to happen is that there needs to be some sort of market system like international soccer (Premier League and La Liga for example). I'm thinking more for the G5 but I could image the anger it would be to recruit a guy that people overlooked and didn't scout, under your coaching they develop into a solid player, and then just dip off a year later because a team offers him a crazy amount of money (which I can't blame on the player). That would be an infuriating thing to have to repeat over and over again, there should be some sort of compensation to the school and there funds. Each player that enters the transfer portal and gets picked up by another team there should be some sort of tax that goes to that school that's getting poached on. Yes they'd still be losing their players but at least they'll get some money to use to get another guy. Many teams in European soccer leagues like Porto and Benfica in Portugal, are very known for developing players before they go to the higher leagues like Darwin Nunez or Ronaldo, it could be seen as a good recruiting tool for teams and it will at least help with development and player retention.
