Some Amazon reviewer said they ordered a cool white and a neutral and they recommend buying the cool white because the neutral version heated up to quick in the hands, any ideas to this scenario? I can't see the tint affecting the heat, maybe a faulty flashlight. Great video, most I formative one I've found. I might buy one
As always, a very extensive and very good video. Well done and accurately displayed in the various tables. Finally somebody who really tests the specified values. Nice that practical examples are given. Seems like a very good flashlight to be honest, especially for the price. Had to laugh at your remark "soda can shaped flashlights"
Parts of Chi-town are off the grid today at -66F wind chill. That is where a 30L lite like this working for many days is so helpful. Maybe even life sustaining for both vision and emotionally.
If you could only have one dedicated thrower flashlight about midsize, what would it be? Looking for something with very high candela, long throw, long run time and will stay cool in the hand. Thank you in advance!
Great review! I’ve always felt that those distance ratings were useless. I typically just used 25% of whatever number they gave to give me a more realistic expectation. Never heard of Civil Twilight... makes total sense.
Yeah, they're kind of misleading. All manufactures do it though. Civil twilight illumination gives you a much better representation on how much light is reaching an object at variable distances.

I love flashlights ever since I was a kid. My favorite as a kid was from the circus a yellow pistol shaped dual barrel flashlight. Recently lost my edc flashlight, on the hunt now. This was a great review. Will look for other reviews of flashlights you've done. Thanks!

Awesome detailed review. Can i suggest testing throwers at 10 meters? Compare the lux at 1m vs 10 and youll be surprised, the beam isnt usually focused at 1m with throwers
Have you heard of the FireFlies E07? I would love to see a review from you on this light. It really has no specifications other than the emitter and light power on max without watching or reading a review, and those still aren't detailed enough. Everyone only does time and output for turbo it seems. I may make a video myself if someone else doesn't get to the bottom of it soon.
I've never really had a strong preference either way. I should probably cover that area more in future videos though because I know that others are interested in that.
URB:Over the last 15 years I have bought a lot of high quality torches, but my fav bar none is Thru Nite. Have the tc15 and 20. Those two do it all, except fit easily in my watch pocket. For that each member of my 5 person family carries a small aaa light I think they are Maratac, not sure to lazy to check. Love your stuff...
Great video TUP! How about adding a drop test to your videos. Problem with that is they may not replace it unless you contact them ahead of time. It can get spendy if you add that. Also, for the cons you mentioned heat as a problem (as it is with many high-output lights), is there a good solution for that? Silicon cover or some sort of heat sync add-on?
I'm not sure how to resolve the heat problem, other than not use it for an extended period of time. I used to film a lot more stress tests for Thrunite. I should revist those drop tests. I've dropped this one so many times that I forgot to even talk about it.

This is the most honest review I’ve seen on TH-cam. Most of the reviews on TH-cam or more akin to an infomercial than a real review.

The ANSI FL1 standard is distance at which the brightest part of the beam is .25 lux. Not super practical.

I have one thrunite and love it, the 11,000 lumen model which is just an absolute beast. I like how this one has a rechargable feature.
