@@paigenorkus7047 honestly not really, it depends on the fish of course but they're actually quite expensive in terms of total cost. fish are very delicate and most people don't want to pay a lot for a fish so they don't get the right tank size for them. plus unless the parents are going to be invested as taking on the fish as theirs than go ahead because a small child will not know about water quality, proper diet, tank size, water changes, ect.. :/

yesssss! I told my fiance that after our last guinea pig passes away we will not be getting more. While I love my guinea pigs and wouldn't change the fact I got them, they're so hard to care for. I feel like no matter how hard I try to give them the best and do the best I can, it's never perfect because things always come up with guinea pigs. They also have a whole world of medical issues that you need to keep a close eye on because they will go south very quickly. They definitely should not be considered a kid pet.

I’ve had rabbits for a long time. A few hacks here
    - 1: Use the pelleted wood bedding (typical made for horses) in their litter pans, it’s cheaper and last way longer
-2: buy the hay in BULK it’s sooooo much easier and cheaper
-3: check to see if your local shelter spays/neuters rabbits, it can be wayyyy cheaper. My rabbits were $50 each vs $350 at the vet.
-4: just let the bunny free roam in a room, you won’t have to buy a cage and they will be cheaper!!
    LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! 💕

I did the 4th one before I moved out of my parents' house! My mom didn't want him inside, so he was living in a hutch for a little while which I hated (I got him before I knew how dangerous this actually is, so learn from my mistake people and do your research before!). But I had my room rabbit-proofed for when he'd play in my room, and one night I was watching a video in bed while he was having playtime in my room and I fell asleep. He was just chilling when morning came and I sort of just moved him into my room. My mom just told me "if he ruins anything, then you're paying for it." There was never an issue haha ! And now he free roams my rabbit-proofed apartment whenever I'm awake and home. I just have him confined to a pretty large hallway when I'm not awake or home to supervise just for safety reasons.

Holy fuck, the amount of misinformation in this video is killing me. Rabbits are hard for YOU to take care of because you've bought into all kinds of recent, crazy bullshit "house rabbit" propaganda that simply isn't true, that was made up by people who are relatively new to the rabbit world. Rabbits are like the easiest pet on the planet. If you're feeding a complete pellet, hay should only be given as treats. Stop buying those stupid little bags of hay from the pet store, and find someone selling hay for livestock. You can get 100-lb bales of timothy or orchard grass for about 20 bucks. Also, every hay is different. If you're allergic to timothy, get something else. I'm super allergic to bermuda grass, but have no reactions to any other types of hay. 100 bucks a month for 1-3 rabbits is INSANE. I currently own over 40 rabbits, and I'm paying less than that to feed them all! They do NOT need a "fresh salad" every day. My rabbits live into their TEENS on quality pellets and occasional hay and treats (a carrot here and there), so to say that they have to have what you are doing for them is simply not correct. That fancy food/treat mix with all the seeds and fruit and crap is one of the fastest ways to cause GI upset. They aren't rodents, they shouldn't be eating all that crap. If you want to do a litter box, get the kind with the grate on top, and just use wood shavings. Then the rabbit can't scatter them so they don't make a huge mess, and you can buy the huge compressed bale of them at the horse or livestock store for cheap (WAY cheaper than the greedy pet store)! Spaying is also super invasive for females, and so many rabbits end up dying on the table during fixing procedures. There is no reason to fix your female, unless you're dealing with a super aggression issue. Don't want babies? Fix your buck. It's less invasive, quicker, and costs less. What you're seeing with them being territorial is them being RABBITS. Most rabbits are NOT social animals, and these house bunny psychos have somehow convinced everyone that it's cruel to keep bunnies by themselves. What's cruel is forcing animals to share space when they don't want to, and it only leads to stress and fighting. Having hormones isn't causing them to be assholes -- they are being rabbits, and telling you that they don't want to share! It's more cruel to fix them, to try to bend them to the human's will, than for the human to simply accept that they are solitary animals. This is why bonding rabbits is so hard, and proves impossible for many. Because you're trying to make the rabbit what it is not. If you hold a rabbit frequently, they are FINE being held. If your rabbit is a psycho when you pick it up, you got it from a shit breeder, or your don't know how to handle them, or simply don't handle them enough. This is another common problem in pet-land. Everyone is into this "adopt, don't shop" mentality, but when you pick up random bunnies from the local rescue, you're essentially only supporting shit people who just let their rabbits breed to line their pockets, and don't take temperament into account. It's essentially the bunny version of a puppy mill. Want good temperaments? Just like with a dog, you find breeders who are specifically breeding for that. Any rabbit you handle frequently should be totally comfortable being picked up, held, turned over for nail clippings, and carried around. The fact that you don't think rabbits should be kept outside -- where it is NATURAL for them to be -- just blows my mind. Unless you keep your house air conditioned at all times, being indoors is simply not comfortable for most rabbits. To me, that's like saying horses should be kept in a stable, and only allowed to run in the field on special occasions. How is that humane?? "Rabbits can get up to 20 lbs." What?? Some breeds are only 2 lbs. Some are well over 20 lbs. How big your rabbit will grow to will depend on the breed of rabbit you have. Got your mutt from a rescue? Good luck telling how big it's going to be. Want a bunny a certain size? Go to a show breeder! Rabbits do not live in "families" in the wild. They live generally antisocial lives, but they go back to the burrow when there is danger, and to have babies. They don't LIVE in the hole together. Anywho. Don't believe everything you read. Or talk to people who have been raising rabbits for show for decades, rather than house bunny people who have only had them for a few years. Although it's not the intro you were given to rabbits, I guarantee you that you'll learn a lot, and be shocked to find that most of what you currently believe to be true is nowhere close to the truth. There are many ways to do things, and some simply make more sense than others, even if they weren't what you were led to believe was the way things should be. Good luck.

i originally thought of ferrets, however now that i own my bunny with how much time and effort and thought goes into her care daily versus them i believe rabbits to be the most high maintenance pet.. i don't watch your channel much though so don't know if you even own bunnies. i remember you had hamsters lol not sure on bunnies though.

I totally agree with you! We have 3 cats, a chameleon (that we found on the street in NJ) and a guinea pig. The guinea pig is the most high maintenance animal we have. Cage cleaning, nail trimming, grooming, food. We spend so much money on the guinea pig. He gets a salad every night and hay all day plus his kibble to eat. We spend about $250 a month on him. Definitely not an easy animal for a child. 💛

    Beautiful video on bunnies!
They are so much work, but so worth it! They really do bond with you and it’s just something to treasure! Out bunnies free roam, bond with the cats and are just amazing! Care recommendations seem to vary youtuber to youTuber...site to site... which can be confusing to anyone who lacks personal experience.
Please don’t get a bunny unless you’re ready to work for and with him or her. They aren’t easy! They aren’t Easter gifts. They aren’t for rough little kids unless you’re able to consistently and constantly watch and educate your child. Thanks for such a great video!!!❤️

Doesn't vaccinate as does not keep outside, disagrees with keeping rabbit outside.....................................
    ...................................
    ...................................
    Shows rabbit literally outside.
Fatal rabbit diseases are spread by some biting insects, any insect could bite an infected wild rabbit and then pop over and bite your rabbit, unvaccinated rabbit will die within days. I think rabbits should have access to outside areas but they definitely should all be vaccinated, house rabbit or otherwise.

For my bunny I line his litter box with a puppy pee pad and then use the carefresh small animal“bedding” . These two together are super absorbent, and all I do is fold up the pee pad and throw it out! So easy!

    • @rachael7441
      @rachael7441 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Just make sure it’s not the bedding made with baking soda! I think carefresh is the one that used it at one point or still does.

I didn’t think I was allergic to anything until I started feeding my rabbit hay, my allergies were super crazy until I changed to oxbow brand hay instead of kaytee and oddly my allergies went away. My rabbit definitely is expensive and unfortunately I can not afford to spay her or get her a friend, but she seems pretty happy and my cats are always around her so I feel she doesn’t seem lonely. sometimes they groom her which she oddly loves. She will always run up to one of my cats and put her head down in front of him to get groomed haha. I’ve had her for 3 years & I love her so much I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I got her impulsively at a pet store with no knowledge but I’m so glad I had the Internet to show me the way Quickly. she definitely is a healthy and happy bunny. And Definitely my favorite animal as well.

I’m guessing your dog because they aren’t as self sufficient as other pets.
EDIT: I used to have guinea pigs and they were so sweet and loving but they were super high maintenance you had to do so much cage cleaning always making sure they had hay 24/7 other foods and veggies and fruits it was crazy they were so worth it. I’m also Allergic to hay so that was rough.
