I’ve always wondered something......why doesn’t the imperium invade or exterminatus cult homeworlds? Sure it won’t eliminate the cult but they may as well purge the xenos anyway, right?
They only Exterminatus the planet if capturing it or holding it is impossible. And killing entire world when it doesn´t end the threat is waste of resources, which Imperium frowns upon.

Which encounter causes more trouble, a Xenomorph meeting a TRex, or a Genestealer meeting king Leonidas of Sparta?
The first one will probably cause more damage.
