I feel like I've never heard of people discussing "forever islands" until ACNH, since it seems like long-running (or forever) islands were the default for many players. I was surprised at how often people reset when I finally got the game. However, with the new design possibilities, the game has really attracted people who prioritize making awesome projects over the "classic" animal crossing experience, so it makes sense!
In City Folk, I remember my family and I kept our town for years and years. The only time we "restarted" was when the Wii broke and we had no choice, haha.

I finally found my forever island, Daffolin (my two fav flowers Daffodils and Dandelion)
in September and is still a vibe ❤️ love how we both have oranges

OMGGG I didnt know you were remaking your island?!? i recently reset my island so i can start my forever island, based on my first island ever. I got a blue airport, oranges and tulips, i kept resetting and i got It! I cant wait to redo Sandy bay :D

I deleted my old island not to long ago, because I lost motivation for it…ive been debating on a forever island and I’m now gonna do one, just gotta figure out a name for the island

I stopped playing for about a year and like 3 weeks ago I picked it back up deleted my island and started over to do my forever island. I put way too much pressure on myself on previous islands to have really impressive and trendy decor. I tried to adopt others styles and aesthetics because I felt like my style wasn’t good enough. I’m just having fun with it on my forever island with no pressure and stress - I mean who am I really impressing with all that terraforming anyway? 😅 I’m totally enjoying the game again though which is amazing ❤

Yay! New sub here. I’ve spent weeks so far resetting for my new forever island. I’m super picky about rocks, peninsula, dock etc and also want blue.. it’s a struggle😂
