The original was more of a cry-in-your-beer lament by Jaskier, who in his view was kinda abandoned by Geralt....but yeah- Dan adds all the testosterone and masculinity needed to change this lament to a bad-*ss mad as h*ll battle cry!!!
And when he flips that hair and grabs the microphone.. Omg!!!!
Yes! Especially when that move connects with the "...stupid hair!" comment, and then that triumphant smile. 😀

YOU ARE CORRECT. I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE ORIGINAL, SO I WATCHED THE NETFLIX SCENE ON TH-cam WHERE THIS IS SUNG. I DID NOT LIKE THE ORIGINAL. DAN DID IT MILLIONS OF TIMES BETTER. EVERYTHING HE DOES IS EPIC. I AM 75 AND WASN'T MUCH INTO METAL MUSIC, RAP OR OPERA PER SE BUT A VERY FEW I DO LIKE.

The Witcher (Henry Cavell) had orange eyes in the series. Dans eyes are too dark and the contacts made his eyes red instead! 🤪
It was a cool effect, but I much prefer Dan's beautiful greeny- brown eyes.. 😊

I knew this was going to be a great reaction before I clicked on it! LOL In an interview, Dan talked about wanting to wear the Witcher medallion and have Witcher eyes for this song. He was disappointed that the contacts made him look more like a character from the Twilight movie! He still looks fabulous, weird eyes or not!

I'm so pleased you reacted the same way I did! His characterisation is absolutely sublime. Sandy is right - he was disappointed with the contacts but I really don't see it as a problem, they could be all the colours of the rainbow and I'd be enthralled all the same! I also think I would be disappointed with the original as I've heard this so many times THIS version is it for me!😁

This song is from the show "The Witcher" There are also the games and books. He has the Witcher emblem around his neck. He's a gamer and if memory serves me right that is one of the games.

I have seen reviews from fans of the original who feel the same way you do. This character reminds me of Khan from the Star Trek universe. By the way, I would not advise owing Dan money, or anything else. I think the collection might make for a bad day.

The original song of this is ✨DISAPPOINTING✨. You can look it up with a quick search on YT. What Dan did to it was made it a thousand times better. I thought it was going to be written by a very evil villain, but no, it was just an annoying twit who happens to be a bard. The Witcher rejected him and didn’t want the bard to follow him around any more, so he wrote a nasty song as payback and sang it in a bunch of the villages’ pubs/bars. They make things right between themselves later in the show. I can’t recommend the show at all because of the extremely graphic content, but I was very curious about the context of this song so I did a little research.
