I'm so glad I found you. I've been through hell and back. I knew there was something wrong but they told me my "labs were normal". I lost my 9 year job and my world came crashing down. I'm going to watch all your videos and educate myself. Thank you so much for sharing your message and being an advocate for women.

      Yvonne,
I am so glad you're here at "Menopause University."
If you start with video #1 and watch them all in order, you will definitely understand everything. But if you watch them randomly, you will definitely sabotage your entire menopause education.
And if you ever want me to tailor all the information specifically to YOU, just schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all via video conferencing, so it doesn't matter where you live.

Yep, I have the wrong doctor! When I went to see him because all of a sudden my periods were extremely heavy and my chin was covered in pimples, he rolled his eyes and said that at 45 I had at least five more years to worry about menopause. It was the end of the discussion. Thanks to your videos I convinced him I should go back on the pill and could not be happier I did! Thank you!!

      Daria,
You should seriously consider having a consultation with me. The clock is ticking. And before you know it, that doctor is going to stop your birth control pills and then you'll have yet another battle on your hands.
In a consultation, I will teach you precisely how to make absolutely sure you alive yourself with a doctor who will help you manage your menopause your way.
If you want a consultation, just schedule it at MenopauseTaylor.ME.

      Barbara,
Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. And you'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that you now do know.
Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know.
I respond to all comments here on TH-cam daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!)
And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time.

Barbara Visoria I couldn’t agree more about watching every video, IN ORDER. I got a notebook and started taking notes. This has been the best investment in myself! After suffering for 10 years...yes! 10 years, I came away with such an education and was empowered to ask my doctor for exactly what I needed...not what they thought! I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Taylor for confirmation and clarity before my last appointment. Best decision ever! I have been feeling like my “old self”. I’m 55 now but feel like my energetic, happy, positive and motivated 30-something self. I highly recommend investing in yourself by watching these videos followed up by at least one consultation with Dr. Taylor.

My new (and quickly former) HRT doctor immediately prescribed Adderall, which I was ok with at the time because she made some compelling points about why I could benefit from it -- until I found that the generic is called "amphetamine salts" and made me feel like I wanted to harm others ("do you feel like yourself, do you want to harm yourself or others?") and that her former clinic was a weight loss franchise (and yes, I need to lose some weight but that's not why I was there). I needed my beloved Estradiol. Then the next HRT place I went to touted loading you up on lots of hormones, but balanced so it was breast protective, but when I said I felt HORRIBLE, the three little practitioners gathered around the laptop and said those magic words, "well, your numbers are perfect." I've since found a great place, with a fantastic PA who knows her stuff.

Dr. Taylor I hope you are safe and feeling well in this time of world-wide pandemic. This is such a fantastic video as are the rest of the videos but this one had me shaking my head about the terrible information that is being put out by other professionals, especially, in my case, OB/Gyn physicians. I am so glad that I found you last year and our many consults have been so informative and you, and my menopause specialty(famous horome doctor) physician, have gotten me to feeling so much better. It is a work in progress with hormones but I have gotten such good care from you and my doctor I wish any woman could have a one on one consult with you. I will never forget one of the first things you said to me and that was, "DON'T FEAR ESTROGEN!" You have been spot on. THANK YOU!
All my love and appreciation to you,

I cant thank you enough for this education. I am 52 and been dealing with symptoms for at least 4 years that I can recognize and not one of my doctors bother to even talk about menopause management even though I express my suffering. My sister as well dealing with much more since before me (she is younger) her doctors did not recommend anything. Most likely cause they have no idea how to manage it and they are themselves females as well. I will listen to your other videos to educate myself more. I really appreciate your time, research and expertise. Sincerely, Annie

I am 46 years old and have been struggling with peri-menopause since I was 43. I was alerted to the existence of your channel from Dominique Sachse's channel. Finally I will be able to help myself. Gynecologists have all blown me off. There is all kinds of help for young girls getting their first periods, but I haven't been able to find help on the back end - what happens when periods start to end and when they end. Thank you filling this very large need. You make me feel validated and empowered. God bless you.

Hi Dr. Taylor - SO glad you are addressing fitness and nutrition at this stage of our lives. I've suffered (literally) at the hand of a younger trainer who didn't know anything about the fitness goals/abilities of a menopausal woman! I've also tried to follow the intermittent fasting program (16 hours fast/8 hour eating) and I found it made me feel weak and my hair loss increased (I am on BHRT). Who do you recommend we follow in terms of fitness and nutrition? Also, do you believe intermittent fasting is inappropriate for menopausal women? I'd really like idea on what's appropriate for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Thanks for ALL you do.

Oh my gosh, I heard these from my doctor! When I told her that intercourse was painful and asked for Estrace, she recommended anti-depressants, therapy and vaginal lubricants! The first two especially perplexed me since I am not depressed - what that heck will treating me for depression do? And lubricant doesn't stop sex from being painful - it helps the penis slide in (sorry to be graphic) but it still hurts like heck. Luckily I now have a doctor who does not having a problem prescribing Estace and it has made a big difference. I am also saving up for the Mona Lisa touch as I have heard good things about it...

      @suzy1750 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@joannepigliavento7930 It's a laser treatment for your vagina - from my understanding, it's basically the same principle as people who have laser treatment done on the face to improve the facial skin. It's expensive (around $2,000 for three treatments where I live) and you need to have 'top ups' every year or so but, at least from my research, it makes a huge difference for some women.

Lots of issues no answers, help or guidance. Gyn said you look great you're years away from start of menopause. At 45 went from period like clockwork to none. Immediate stop, done. So many symptoms not ones typically discussed. My mom had died when I was 33 so no guidance there. I felt/feel lost isolated and confused. Your videos are so helpful. I feel like there is hope . I have to push back on the exercise advice given here. The latest studies show that menopausal women benefit greatly from gradually lifting heavier weights and doing plyometric exercises. It helps with osteoporosis prevention, prevent insulin resistance, helps body composition. Stacey Sims writes all about this in her current book Next Level. She is a physiology doctor with a special interest in menopausal women. It is all based on current studies.

    My OBGN answered me yesterday
she advice me to use only one patch/ weekly 0.05 mg instead of 2 weekly, and see how i am doing.
To keep the same regimen with progesterone 100mg inserted every night.
If my hotflashes come back or if all my bad side effects persist and make my life miserable she recommend to stop everything anfd to consult her to try other options.
I answered to her few minutes ago that may be the bad side effects come from the progesterone ......?
I remember i have spoken with you about the progesterone before.
My question now , using only 1 estradiol 0.05 patch weekly is it enough to protect my bones, heart, and brain?
And do i still need 100mg progesterone every night even if i lower my estradiol intake ?

Please, please, have a consultation with me. I will arm you with all the information you need, help you weigh your benefits and risks, and school you in how to navigate the medical system in order to get what you want.
This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU.
I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. If you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 72 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).
I hope to meet you soon!

There are three sex hormones: Testosterone, Estrogen, and Progesterone. The three hormones are like The Three Bears. You know how each bear had his or her own bed, chair, & porridge? Well, each hormone belongs to only one member of the family, just like each bed, chair, & bowl of porridge.
Testosterone is the male hormone. It belongs to Papa Bear. Estrogen is the female hormone. It belongs to Mama Bear. Progesterone is the hormone of pregnancy. It belongs to Baby Bear.

This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. There's just no way I can tailor things to you in a comment box.

Hi, Dr. Barbie! Thank you so much for everything that you do for us!
I’m 60 years old and I’m afraid I have already missed my window of opportunity to use estrogen/progesterone! I have already learned to live with my symptoms, like vaginal dryness, insomnia and hot flashes! Do you have other options, for me to treat diseases like heart attack, osteoporosis and Alzheimer?
I still have my uterus and never had a child. Appreciate your help!🙏🏼

Haha! My old doctor, and I mean my doctor from the past since I fired him for being a jerk! Said, "well sometimes this is as good as it gets." Can you believe it! Oh and he rolled his eyes at me! He really did not want to treat me at all! I have never met anyone so insensitive in my life! He had no problems cutting all my female organs out, but didnt want to take care of me after the fact. I mean, I had to call the office and say, " do you all think I need some hormones? Because I'm not feeling right, actually I feel like I'm dying! Every bone in my body ached, I had urinary frequency, vaginal pain, hot flashes, you name it, I had it!
Well I met you Dr. Taylor and you directed me in the right direction after spending years trying to find someone to help. You are such a wonderful person! I wish you live in the US! I would be coming to your office if you were still in practice. Talk to you soon! Be safe!💖💖💖

There are just as many women who have their heads in the sand like ostriches regarding menapause preparation. They insist they don't need menapause or even perimenapause management whike being inundated and being bombarded with all symptoms and go around the Entire circuit of a host of other specialists, under go surgeries and heavy meds but have yet to turn an attention on for a gynae's explanation. Perhaps it's because it too much work to care for themselves which they can't outsource to specialists and pills. It is hard work and persistence to take charge your own body and life. So easy to play victim and blame specialists and bad luck in health.

Constans Do you think your body is suddenly short on St. John’s wort, or possibly estrogen?
I made the mistake of trying everything first.
I wasted five years of my life trying alternatives.
      Good luck.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Nothing is about "what I think." All that matters are facts. I give you facts and let you make your own decisions.
St. John's Wort is one of the many herbal products that people use to alleviate depression. However, if you look at the claims on any St. Johns Wort product, it merely says that it "Helps promote positive mood." That's because there has never been any research on it (or any other herbal remedy) and it is not capable of treating any disease.
Like any herbal product, it is entirely unregulated, and marketed in a way that makes you believe it has medicinal qualities. At the same time, you do not receive literature about it's risks and side-effects which include thinning of your blood.
When it comes to menopause management, you can either treat each symptom individually, in which case you could be taking dozens of medications or herbs, or you can treat the root of the problem which is estrogen deficiency.
If you'd like to assess all your options and have me tailor them all specifically to YOU, schedule a consolation at MenopauseTaylor.ME.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Alison,
I am retired from the clinical practice of medicine, and teach full time now. As such I do not prescribe or accept any kind of insurance. I do accept credit card payments online, but you would have to deal personally with the FSA aspect of that.
I am a licensed, board-certified Gynecologist, with all the privileges. But, you have to have a doctor who is in active clinical practice for getting your prescriptions. That's why I don't prescribe them.
You do not need to get any blood tests before consulting with me, and it is better not to.
I would school you in absolutely everything you need to know about menopause, how to find a doctor, how to get what you want from your doctor, and how the medical system works. After a consultation with me, you will actually know 90% more than most doctors! In essence, I will arm you with the tools you need to manage your menopause your way and make the rest of your life the best of your life.

I believe I left my job because of menopause the craziness that I was feeling and the sicknesses I was going through only to be threaten to be fired so I got put on depressants. Now with covid-19 my doctor doesn't want me to go get my blood work done it's not necessary now it can wait and send me to GYN because of the over bleeding because I stopped the pill. Can't get a GYN not taking patients because of Covid-19. Now I wait again, which by the time I can get to a specialist which is 6-12 months once they begin to take patients again. who know's what else I'll be dealing with. It just crazy.
