In this episode we are on our very first collaboration with another channel. Martine Brucheau of "Organics Best" Urban Gardener joins us at Green Acres Nursery & Supply, in Sacramento, California (that would be the capital of California) to help us pick out a Blood Orange tree for the Urban Gardens.
Martine gives us his best growing tips for taking care of our Blood Orange tree and we take it home and transplant it.

Very nice, thank you for the tips & the Urban Gardening Vibes! I am growing 5 Orange trees, from out the delicious blood orange that I have eaten & used some seeds from them. They are 8 months old and they are looking good, strong and happy :) A big Blood Orange tree from over Sea, the Netherlands ;)
I am going to add more container citrus this next season. Not sure what varieties yet though. Thanks for checking us out. Appreciate the compliments.

Love this nursery! I go to the Roseville location at least once a month. I just got a Tarocco blood orange tree in the mail from four winds nursery today and this video told me everything I need to know. Thanks!

Martine, do you recommend feeding the citrus year round with the organic fertilizer?
Wow! How did I see this comment. I type in my name to the search engine and came upon Enochs page. Scroll through the comments and folks are looking for me. The tears in my eyes right about now. Thank you and yes, fertilize all container grown trees throughout the year. absolutely. Just cut back half feedings in fall/winter okay. Thanks Rita

Can I plant my blood moro which is in a 3 gallon to a 20 gallon grow bag
I would probably get a 10 gallon first then go up the 20 in a couple seasons.

How many years to get some fruit?
If you keep it alive (I didn’t with this one in my climate) they can bear fruit in just a couple years.

One question... you live in zone 8... why not plant it directly in soil?
I don't own my property, so planting trees here is not doable. It's containers for my urban garden. lol
