What I love about this is that, with a slight tweak to the paper plants used this is also a super realistic woodland base (which is what I was actually looking for when I found this video!) Liked and subscribed!
Very realistic; I like these paper plants that one can get these days. I use photo etched plants like ferns from some model railroad manufacturers, they need a little bit more work since they are brass and require an etch prime before painting. A bit late for my comment for an old vid.
If I can give anyone a tip. If you are superglueing any flat surface to another relative flat surface. Try to either make a lil hole or even cuts on the even surfaces. It helps the glue settle and adhere more strongly. Also prevents it from breaking off from falling etc.
@@theminiaturemen40k Thank you very much ! I do appreciated . I try to develop locally some interests to the world history which is not taught at all here ...
Very new to the hobby. How would you attach a mini to this base? It seems like the mini would fall off easily when you glue it to the extra stuff on the base.
Great question, for scenic bases you’ll want to drill and pin the model. Essentially you drill a tiny hole in the bottom of the foot and on the base and use a small piece of a paper clip to connect the two. It sounds complex but it’s actually super easy
Used this technique for my new leviathan tyranids and it turned out phenominal right up until i used the scatter. Yours looks so legit and leaf like but the one i got was more like sand. What brand did you use because i cant see the lid.
I used one by greenstuffworld called scatter foliage beige. I’ve also heard people having good results with the contents of teabags or just going down the spice isle if you’re in a bit of a rush
I use Testors dull cote on most things. Ak ultra matte if I want something super dull. For these bases you don’t need a varnish but it would help hold down the scatter foliage some so I would do it after that stage but before doing the paper plants.
www.dioramapresepe.com/en/prodotto/perfect-roots-for-dioramas/ Here’s one site that sells them. Another thing you can do is go to a store that sells plants and ask if they have any they died. They usually just toss them out daily. Search diorama roots and you can probably find other sellers

You can also go to your local hardware store and ask if they have any dead plants in the garden section. They just throw them out otherwise
This is - by far - the most realistic looking and also well done tutorial for Jungle bases that i´ve ever seen!
Thank you!

These are some of the most realistic bases I've seen, incredible work.

Another awesome tutorial. (I’m just watching this to relax after making a base using your urban rubble tutorial... 🙂)
Awesome, thanks for the support!

Great base and video. You can also use tea bags for foliage or leaves that have fallen.

Great video! Say, where can I find the darker tufts? Didn't see them on green stuff world
Thanks, I believe these are the ones I used

Nice tutorial, but you might want to use a sealant to lock the basing in.
Great video
Subbed from Reddit
Great video. I'm just subbed here.

@@theminiaturemen40k ahh awesome thanks for the reply. I have seen people doing that with heavier models
Does it look good if you swap the mud with a sand texture, for coastal jungles?
I haven’t tried it but I bet it would, you’d maybe want to do a little less roots
@@theminiaturemen40k Good thinking! Hoping to make something somewhat resembling coastal florida.
That sounds cool! Hope they turn out great
My Blood Tigers do occupy the Jungle Moon of Tryjon II so my be breaking out the oregano soon.
Excellent tutorial! Would you spray the foliage with a glue/water mix or varnish to hold the scatter in place or is the original coat enough?
The original coat works well but varnish won’t hurt and will make it even more secure
@@theminiaturemen40k thanks for the speedy reply! Just subbed 😁

Idk why, the tufts doenst seem like the light green to me. Thank you for the tutorial
Do you just superglue the minis on the painted base?
If you have a flat enough area you can superglue them but pinning the model works best
One question, which varnish would you use and at which stage ?
I always have the issue of varnish either dulling down my colours or being too shiny :(

Where did you get them tree stumps, been looking for some like that everywhere ?
Greenstuffworld has two varieties of them
@@theminiaturemen40k thanks
this thing is funny
That intro lmao
