Have not been swimming freestyle for long. Did not rotate enough for ages then one session it really came together and felt so natural cannot believe how much quicker I can go now and that feeling of gliding is awesome!
This rotation really did help me to improve my swimming strokes per lap. One catch is that I always remind me to lift up my head, but just looking sideway, and you are good to go. Thanks for the tips :D I have been swimming for 10weeks and I learnt breaststroke and freestyle, but still trying to master freestyle :)
I had difficulty with breathing when I swim until I watched your videos yesterday,tried the.breathing technique, IT WORKED! the other day I cant even finish halfway due to breathing issue however today I was able to swim back and forth!!! thanks very much it helped me a lot ,just learned swimming self taught copying other swimmers hehehe
Thank you very much. I learned a lot from the educational videos that you upload to TH-cam. Especially thank you for the translation into Arabic. I am grateful to you.💐
I would've gladly paid a hundred bucks to listen to those instructions.. I am a swimmer and I am recovering from my shoulder injury lately, in order to achieve a higher reach I always tried my best to extend my shoulders to the best possible extent but I ultimately injured my self.. I got it, the problem with me was that I was not rotating my self and I wasn't giving my shoulders enough time to recover.. kindly, anyone seeing this video should properly focus on the rotation of the body while keeping the drag minimum..
The two things I always focus on is making my arm *almost* be rotating directly downwards, and to have my elbows bend so that my hands end up *almost* touching my hips. That sets up the chicken wings for when your hand is going back to the starting position. I was struggling to get back into swimming as I had to readjust every part of my stroke based on my prior knowledge from years ago, suddenly it all just clicked and I started flying through the water and doing 200m bursts instead of just 50m.
Thank you for your guidance. I can swim more easily and efficially after watching this video. This skill is very useful and very helpful to swimming beginners. Thank^^
Do you think it's normal to rotate more for the dominant side (the breathing side)? I always feel the distinct difference when breathing on the opposite side.
Try and actively push your hips the opposite direction an exagurrated amount, while doing the stroke slowly. I find it helps your mind associate the movement more with how you walk (left arm forward, left leg back) and it will click into place.

Cool. Now, in this video I see that you have you hand/fingers above the wrist and that is putting some brakes I think. i try to have elbow above wrist, which is above fingers. I feel less drag that way. What is your take on this?
thanks for the video guys! do you have any tips for effectively breathing? i find myself resting on my side too much when i rotate to breathe and my arm hangs out in front for way too long, i feel, and i feel like this affects my speed and flow. is this just an endurance thing, or do you think it's technique? thanks for your videos anyway, they're very informative!
As you swim, keep your chin on your chest, and when you come up for a breath, it should be a very smooth transition to above water and back below. I kinda visualise it like a dolphin leaping from the water as it swims, it briefly breaks the surface and then straight back down. Not sure if that will help lol
I also find breathing every 4th stroke is the most efficient for me. Every 3rd is probably better for making sure your neck gets both sides worked evenly, but I personally don't like having to switch head directions lol
I have difficulty breathing from my left side. I have a feeling it has something to do with my rotation. However breathing from the right feels absolute natural
Excellent video, looking forward to the continuation of this topic. Btw, do you have any videos with tips/drills on how to keep a good and straight body position? I noticed that being a bit rotated and stretched out in both front and back really seems to improve my swimming quite a bit.
I am learning to swim. But I am unable to bring my head out for breathing. Hence I have to take short distance practice only for as long as I can hold my breath. What am I doing wrong
ofcourse! There's a lot of science behind it and stuff but personally, i suggest you try swimming a couple kilometres with a little gap between your fingers and see how that affects you.
Thanks for the video! You are entering thumbs down, isn't that something to avoid, as a cause of shoulder injury? At least that's what I've learned elsewhere.
어깨 회전으로 더 쉽게 숨을 들이쉬고 더 부드럽게 헤엄치세요 | Swim smoother and breathe easier in freestyle with shoulder rotation ========== 자유형으로 헤엄칠 때 초보자들의 큰 문제점 중 하나는 몸체 회전을 하지 않는 것입니다.
Marcus Leung I did also doing this rotation helps! It was very helpful to me.
same feeling of rotate a little mire to the breathing side.
Marcus Leung I’m balance in your stroke. I’m correcting this myself. Fingertip drag drill is good to fix it
Try and actively push your hips the opposite direction an exagurrated amount, while doing the stroke slowly. I find it helps your mind associate the movement more with how you walk (left arm forward, left leg back) and it will click into place.
👌👍 thanks a lot

Heyy buddy what you have there that wrapped around your waist could give me a name of it I like to put weight on my waist and swimm
Wow. Long video about shoulder rotation. Without a word about, well, what exactly ‘shoulder rotation’ is!
Thanks..very clear explain
Can you provide the link to the tutorial for practicing rotation ?
Thanks for these great videos, can you make videos on the hand accelleration in freestyle? Few videos show this aspect in the swimming.

elbows up! you do that wrong, bob bowman explain it better
Thank for your video.
Thank you so much for this video. I knew the issue was me not rotating. I was told to keep my body straight, but I couldn't breath that way
Hi , can you make a video about front quadrant , technique , advantages ,,,,,
nice instructions . Good channel .
Awais Ali 6
Stream line n less drag when u rotate n glide more.
Good camera work !! :)
Thank You for your videos. I'd like to ask you, why don't You put your fingers together? Your hands are open! Is it corret?
So you rotate on purpose instead of just rotating off your breaths?
This is really helpful
very helpful!
Nice🌷
Cool. Now, in this video I see that you have you hand/fingers above the wrist and that is putting some brakes I think. i try to have elbow above wrist, which is above fingers. I feel less drag that way. What is your take on this?
philippeback your way is better . Less drag and faster catch
thanks for the video guys! do you have any tips for effectively breathing? i find myself resting on my side too much when i rotate to breathe and my arm hangs out in front for way too long, i feel, and i feel like this affects my speed and flow. is this just an endurance thing, or do you think it's technique? thanks for your videos anyway, they're very informative!
Thank you! We do have a breathing in freestyle video, I hope this helps th-cam.com/video/-k7n60ZelRo/w-d-xo.html

Thx 🏊🏻♀️😎
🩱
Why the guy in the video has his fingers apart when pulling water? What is the proper way?
who ist the faster you or your friend?
thank you
Hi what kind of glasses you use for swimming? Can you provide a link or a name in order to purchase,
We use Swedish goggles but not everyone likes them. These are our favorite products bit.ly/SkillsNAmazon
sir can you please suggest me how to pull with high elbow
I have difficulty breathing from my left side. I have a feeling it has something to do with my rotation. However breathing from the right feels absolute natural
Excellent video, looking forward to the continuation of this topic.
Btw, do you have any videos with tips/drills on how to keep a good and straight body position? I noticed that being a bit rotated and stretched out in both front and back really seems to improve my swimming quite a bit.
🏊♂️
Thanks for teaching me i didnt know u had to breath when rotating
Why are the legs in the video sinking?
I am learning to swim. But I am unable to bring my head out for breathing. Hence I have to take short distance practice only for as long as I can hold my breath. What am I doing wrong
Opened hands?
ofcourse!
There's a lot of science behind it and stuff but personally, i suggest you try swimming a couple kilometres with a little gap between your fingers and see how that affects you.
Li/ fe sure? this is beginner's another common mistake
Francisco Jairo watch lucy charles’ video on globaltriathlonnetwork channel. she tells us to close your hands..
Li/ fe really?
rotation is my problem
I'll get on tht swim team this year just u watch...
I’ll be watching

Swim smoother and breathe easier in freestyle with shoulder rotation
==========

00:00:02,251 --> 00:00:08,842
Rotation
2
00:00:09,238 --> 00:00:16,405
When swimming freestyle one of the main problems beginners have is the lack of rotation in the stroke.
3
00:00:16,525 --> 00:00:20,854
In this video, we will analyze why it is important to rotate.
4
00:00:20,905 --> 00:00:26,355
And we will post a video of drills to help you rotate correctly later on.
5
00:00:26,435 --> 00:00:30,909
The main benefit of rotating is to prevent shoulder injury.
6
00:00:30,957 --> 00:00:35,866
When you rotate, your shoulder is in a better position to recover.
7
00:00:35,985 --> 00:00:43,973
If you don’t rotate then you will be overextending this part of your shoulder.
8
00:00:44,422 --> 00:00:54,308
If you do rotate, the whole arm will be more relaxed and you will have more power to use where it matters most, the pull.
9
00:00:54,443 --> 00:01:01,181
While your head is steady, your whole body is rotating. Except when you are breathing.
10
00:01:01,326 --> 00:01:09,351
When you breathe your head rotates with your body, allowing your mouth to stick out of the surface to take a breath.
11
00:01:09,439 --> 00:01:13,261
It is a lot easier to breathe when your body rotates.
12
00:01:13,348 --> 00:01:20,209
So if you are having trouble breathing in freestyle, the lack of rotation might be one reason why.
13
00:01:20,276 --> 00:01:27,894
Another benefit is that when you rotate, you are in a better position to pull water using bigger muscles.
14
00:01:28,017 --> 00:01:37,597
When you position your body like this your back and chest muscles will be ready to pull, as opposed to just using your shoulder muscles.
15
00:01:37,638 --> 00:01:44,175
The bigger the muscles the more powerful your pull will be and the faster you will swim.
16
00:01:44,287 --> 00:01:48,474
The last benefit is that you’ll be able to swim smoother.
17
00:01:48,554 --> 00:01:52,151
By rotating you will be able to glide more.
18
00:01:52,206 --> 00:01:58,643
The more you glide effectively the less strokes you will need to do per lap.
19
00:01:58,842 --> 00:02:04,507
With your core muscles you will be applying a torque force to move forward.
20
00:02:04,626 --> 00:02:07,571
Your rotation might feel exaggerated.
21
00:02:07,603 --> 00:02:11,485
But notice that I almost touch my cheeks with my shoulders.
22
00:02:11,541 --> 00:02:14,893
That’s still a normal amount of rotation.
23
00:02:15,032 --> 00:02:19,727
Just make sure your arms are not crossing the middle line of your body.
24
00:02:19,839 --> 00:02:24,384
All of this to say, I strongly suggest that you rotate when you swim freestyle.
25
00:02:24,447 --> 00:02:30,133
And I will show you how to practice your rotation in a future video, so make sure to subscribe.

Poderiam retirar a legenda.
Please increase voice of your videos little louder
I don’t really understand why open fingers can swim that fast

Tooop👍
how to make S during pull on freestyle
You’re not supposed to do an S during freestyle pull, only during a butterfly pull.
