Why on Earth Michael Hutchinson isn't mentioned up there with Mick, Bono and Freddie as 'Best Frontmen Ever' is beyond me. He was incredible... and sorely missed...
With the shit that's around 2day, yeh - of course. With a few people saying, that MH added in the lyrics "I'm better than Oasis" and can clearly hear him saying it.. must been on drugs. But Inxs are and were definitely better than Oasis. And so were U2. That could be said of any of U2's major hits back in 1980s, would be hits now too. Even with Simple Minds.

People throw around the term "underrated" a lot, but Michael Hutchence and INXS truly are underrated. Hutchence's voice is right up there with Mich Jagger and Freddie Mercury in terms of "front man" status. This band had one great song after another. What a sound.
I agree that "underrated" is used too much and inappropriately at times in TH-cam comments. I think that goes for your post as well, unfortunately. INXS is one of the top Australian acts in history, selling over 75 million records, with several #1 songs and albums, at least 37 major music awards, and nearly a half-billion views on TH-cam. So, I think they've been rated just right.
This is so true! Just this tune. This is a fucking banger! He gives you everything of himself that's why. He is a free spirit expressing himself and it translates directly to me. Same when any genuinely talented people let everything else go and just do them. You get the most organic beautiful stuff
Hutchence and INXS were never underrated. Their concerts overseas in the Americas continent, England, and even in parts of Europe were highly appreciated and deeply respected in those regions, as well as back home here in Australia. They were known in the first half of the 1990s as one of the few best bands in the world to perform live. Even by some experts in music, INXS were being hailed as the best band to perform live at the time, after the release of both 'Kick' and 'X' albums. No one understands the word 'underrated', even tho it gets thrown around and mentioned alot. The band has sold many albums and soldout shows and achieved accolades in many music awards across the globe.
Les deux avaient du talent, chacun dans leur style respectif. Mais pour une femme hétérosexuelle, Hutchence était un chanteur assez sensuel sur scène et dans ses clips
Just a girly picture of pretty sunset for dude I understand. Yea they had a lot of fans. He's already considered a great for the short time he was here. Have you heard the singer for Vintage Trouble. I think HE"S the best newer singer around.
Michael was the most sensual man I've ever seen on screen. I really don't know any other male singers had this kind of sensuality that's not even effeminate.......
Michael was considered as the person to portray Jim Morrison in The Doors movie. Eventually it went to Val Kilmer who did a fantastic job, but I have no doubt that MH would have been perfect. I swear to God he studied Morrison's moves and techniques because he sure did remind me of Morrison immediately.
@@underscore2824 You're misinterpreting what I'm trying to say. I'm not comparing his singing skills to Morrison because in that regard, they're definitely two different people and MH is the better of the two. But MH moves like Morrison and caresses the mic like JM did in so many ways and that doesn't take anything away from MH. Morrison was the best of his generation in moves and it's a flattering statement that MH moves like him.
When someone asks, "what is the X factor?" Michael Hutchence is my reply he had it in every way. Women wanted him, men wanted him and wanted to be like him. He just had IT xx

He is up there with Jagger and morrison. Just a notch below and only because the music the doors and stones put out is just more and better. Music is subjective. Saying one is better than another is so difficult. INXS is a great band that released some great music. The doors and stones released iconic music in an iconic era. What hurts INXS, and nothing they can do about it, is they defined the 80's. The 80's is a decade not known for great music. Some will rip me for it...and the 80's had some great music, but compared to the late 60's or early 90's not so much.

The song is amazing. INXS has a bunch of really good songs, but this is right up there with the top three or four in my opinion. The chorus is devastating, and the passion in his voice is off the charts. He doesn’t have the greatest range in the world that’s the only thing that probably keeps him from being mentioned with people like Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury, it’s a decent range and the chorus more than compensates for it. Just a great great song and I love how they snuck in that jib at oasis too. Oasis deserves every bit of it after that nasty trick they pulled on him.
I just recently gotten into inxs. I was only 10 years old when this song came out, so probably didn't come across it at the time. Apparently this was supposed to be like their comeback, sadly Michael took his life not long after this I think. Awesome song, great Rock tune and great Rock band, I wish we would have gotten more from them but it's nothing without Michael and that deep baritone voice
Hutchence is a legend and he always will be and he knew it. They made some great music and I reckon the musicianship within the band also was great. God Bless.
Michael moved like a minx constantly on the prowl. The sexuality he exuded on screen was intoxicating to watch and a miracle to behold. Not many entertainers could expose themselves with clothes on like Michael was able to do. I'm certain every women from that time were secretly thinking "just one night with him."
The sadly missed and gorgeous Michael hutchence will live forever through his amazing music! Inhale the future exhale the past! And where words fail music speaks? My tattoos?! Xx
I loved and love INXS. The great thing about them was that Michael Hutchence was the front man and the band was always featured prominently in the videos & on stage. They were a band. A tight af band & it showed in their sound. #INXSForHallOfFame
Stunning song all around.....Michael Hutchence this incredibly gifted artist was one of the very few men that could wear chequerd trousers and STILL be absolutely Gorgeous !! Then again Michael was GORGEOUS !!
In 1991 i was a teenager and i had inxs in my ears, stuck in my room, because my parents were fighting and made a lots of noise.now i'm 47 and i'm still listening to this wonderful band.
I was 13 when this song was released. I remember watching the music video almost every morning before school when it came on MTV. This song should have been huge. I still listen to it and am amazed by how good it is. 😌
Michael Hutchence had great and strong voice- one of the kind…. His interpretations were unbelievable- it’s hard to find today this kind of singer and frontman ….. he was fantastic!
January 22nd. Happy Birthday Michael Hutchence.. ❤️ INXS music lives on as your legacy🌹...Listening to what would have been an elegantly evolved style. RIP The music never dies...
I still miss the original lineup and their presence on the music scene. Michael Kellam Hutchence was and will always be the ultimate hot as fuck Aussie rock God.
Had the Amazing experience of seeing InXS Perform this on the Rosie Show U know Queen of nice … Shannon Dougherty & Howie Mandel where also on the show…💜💜💜💜😘😘🆓🆓🆓🆓🍸💋🍸🍸🍸🦋
I miss Michael Hutchence so badly. INXS wasn't/isn't the same without him. He had a "certain" vocal quality that bore the name INXS. So flamboyant, so self-assured. devil may care, etc. He did what he did because he could. I really HATE being one of those "bubble gum" fans, but in this case, I concede. I got hooked back in the early 80's. Never quite shook it. ♥
Michael Hutchence of a rare breed....immensely talented yet very relatable. Left a humongous imprint on this world and most definitely doing it so in the next one.
Lowkey one of my guilty pleasure songs. Michael looked like my kind of fun. What an incredible loss for the music world. He was so alluring and cool. One of the best voices of his genre, soulful and unique. I love the passion in his vocals on this song. The heavy breathing in between words. He was so eccentric and entertaining that it hurts to think what could have been with INXS.
Hutchence actually snook into the recording studio without the rest of the bands permission and recorded backing vocals over "elegantly wasted" he actually sings this part as "Im better than oasis" because at the time of making the record Hutchence had been ridiculed on stage by Noel at the MTV award show with Noel saying " Don't have a has been giving awards to gonna bees" reffering to Hutchence who had been talking a lot at the time about Liam Gallagher in the press. Give it another listen, you'll hear it.
Why on Earth Michael Hutchinson isn't mentioned up there with Mick, Bono and Freddie as 'Best Frontmen Ever' is beyond me. He was incredible... and sorely missed...

God Bless.
This man is perfection. Every move he makes is full of sexiness... This is incredible
Michael moved like a minx constantly on the prowl. The sexuality he exuded on screen was intoxicating to watch and a miracle to behold. Not many entertainers could expose themselves with clothes on like Michael was able to do. I'm certain every women from that time were secretly thinking "just one night with him."
+Fayde Dnamron (Whitewraithe) We still wish for that!
Or wish for another night with him again ❤️ xxxxxx
+Fayde Dnamron (Whitewraithe) Could NOT have described 'the Michael Effect' better. Spot-on observation.
+Fayde Dnamron (Whitewraithe) No good in a fight. just pretty.
If that means what I think it does - it's not nice to speak ill of the dead. Michael wasn't a fighter he was a lover.
The sadly missed and gorgeous Michael hutchence will live forever through his amazing music! Inhale the future exhale the past! And where words fail music speaks? My tattoos?! Xx
He was a unique combination or Jagger, Boland, Prince and Morrison... A mind blowing talent and sexiness in abundance.. RIP MH
Pas d'accord genre talent different
Oh why can't we have music like this today! DAMN IT! I WANT IT!
That man is beautiful 😍 rest in peace Micheal
The Best front man in my eye ❤
My favorite singer and frontman. Great band, too. This whole album is strong, not just this song.
My fav album from them. Unfortunately was the last with Michael.
Shake the tree my fav off the record.
Underrated song, underrated album... What a pitty!
Best live act period. They brought the tightly polished studio sound directly to the stage.
I loved and love INXS. The great thing about them was that Michael Hutchence was the front man and the band was always featured prominently in the videos & on stage. They were a band. A tight af band & it showed in their sound. #INXSForHallOfFame
I'll watch anything with Michael Hutchence in it.
Underrated song, underrated album... What a pitty!
INXS will live forever..long after we are all dead
Stunning song all around.....Michael Hutchence this incredibly gifted artist was one of the very few men that could wear chequerd trousers and STILL be absolutely Gorgeous !! Then again Michael was GORGEOUS !!
In 1991 i was a teenager and i had inxs in my ears, stuck in my room, because my parents were fighting and made a lots of noise.now i'm 47 and i'm still listening to this wonderful band.
Michael was so unique. Friggin definition of cool. Love INXS.👍
Michael Hutchinson was a beast! and INXS was one hell of a band! Who is jamming like this today?
I was 13 when this song was released. I remember watching the music video almost every morning before school when it came on MTV. This song should have been huge. I still listen to it and am amazed by how good it is. 😌
...The most underated Rock Star ever...Rest i peace Hutch...Since the very begining of the 80's you gave the best songs to me...
22 January - happy Birthday, Michael. I remember forever. Love.
Michael Hutchence had great and strong voice- one of the kind…. His interpretations were unbelievable- it’s hard to find today this kind of singer and frontman ….. he was fantastic!
Have you ever heard Rival Sons ?
January 22nd. Happy Birthday Michael Hutchence.. ❤️ INXS music lives on as your legacy🌹...Listening to what would have been an elegantly evolved style. RIP
The music never dies...
❤️
That bassline fucking purrs. What a phenomenal band. They were at the peak when this was released...miss you hutcho.
El mejor grupo de toda la historia ❤❤❤❤❤
over 20 years old and feels and looks like it could be a new release, and better than all the crap out today
NickyB 75 Wasn’t even a hit either
OMG. I was just thinking the same thing! When music was good. Still listening today.
I agree
I agree music today is crap
True.
One of the best song ever
I still miss the original lineup and their presence on the music scene. Michael Kellam Hutchence was and will always be the ultimate hot as fuck Aussie rock God.
Had the Amazing experience of seeing InXS Perform this on the Rosie Show U know Queen of nice … Shannon Dougherty & Howie Mandel where also on the show…💜💜💜💜😘😘🆓🆓🆓🆓🍸💋🍸🍸🍸🦋
He gots--what it takes!!! Oozing charisma & talent. Sad loss
I totally agree with Fayde. ...what magnetism. ....energy still being felt
Interesting.
Yay "I'm better than Oasis" makes me love this song even more cos damn right Hutch will Always be waaay better than Oasis/Gallaghers.
*snuck
The song has got such a great bass groove to it.
