The scaling is wrong.. Ronnie would never look that big next to Ronnie.. he never ever outmassed FLex that way.. and Flex had even smaller structure than Dorian..

I looked back at the 96 grand prix footage(where thet both competed) and think based on that Ronnie is oversized here. Dorian has a bigger head😂 and his calves dwarf Ronnies. Might just be the 93 angle though
I suppose he can only work with what he’s got but the angle difference is absolutely key to this matchup. I know it’s just for fun but you almost can’t even judge it based on this. Not fairly anyway

Ronnie on the other hand, is almost as conditioned as Dorian but overwhelms him with size. By those metric, the only way Dorian beats Ronnie, is that if he's near Ronnie's size with the same condition he has here, which never happened in his career because it's impossible to outsize the king with greater condition.
@housesports000 because Ronnie's arms are so much bigger than dorians especially the biceps they actually cover up some of his lats,we're as Dorian had weak small arms so you can see his full lats.
@TheLusianPopa you make a good point, when it comes down to it though, bodybuilding is still a subjective sport. Muscle conditioning and size aside, the judges and everyone else's eyes would automatically be drawn to the bigger and freakier guy on stage, you can't disagree that Ronnie's biceps, chest, shoulders, quads, hams, and glutes are another lever compared to Dorian's. If these two were to step side by side with each other on a stage, 9 times out of ten judges would pick Ronnie as a winner.
Dorian doesn’t even look like a mass monster side by side with ‘03 Ronnie. The trap development in the 2000 body builders just takes things to another level, but at the sacrifice of lower back muscle separation/definition.
@TheLusianPopa I997/1998 Ronnie was his best-he looked fit and able to run and catch a football at top speed. Once you get into 2000 Ronnie, he just looks unathletic. By traps, Ronnie’s upper traps bulging up to nearly his ears from the front is something Dorian never had. Dorian’s mid traps and rhomboids underneath were massive and thick.
No chance in heck. Ronnie's traps are bigger thicker than Dorian's. His entire back is thicker, you can see it in the back double bi. You can talk about leaning back all you want, but it's obvious it's a lean mass difference. Ronnie looks in contest condition, holding a bit of water under the skin, when he is also holding more water in the muscle and looking bigger and more full balances out. Especially when Coleman is has much more round muscle bellies. It was everything Dorian could do to beat Levrone, Wheeler and Shawn Ray because they all had better shape than him. Ronnie became bigger than any of these guys and has shapely muscle like Flex with a ribcage and chest that can stand next to anyone. It's Dorians worst nightmare. Thank you for the video, however, your sizing of the individuals are way off and this gives Ronnie an unfair advantage. It is abundantly clear that this video shows Ronnie as a closer image to that of Dorian. Very important to note that Dorian and Ronnie are the same height, however, in your video, it seems that Ronnie is viewed to be way taller - This is exemplified due to the mismatched individual characters.
Ronnie’s calf doesn’t look too small compared to Dorian and we all know Dorian has superior calfs. Plus Ronnie’s glute is massive here, so I don’t think the angles between the two really that much different
With this video, side by side comparison the size difference between Ronnie and, not just Dorian but, every other Mr. Olympia competitor in history is much more evident. When people in the comments of vs. videos are always saying about Ronnie's size in 03 giving him the edge in poses where the focus of the pose is close; they really aren't exaggerating. He was the best bodybuilder of all time on that stage in 03. Thanks for the comparison Supersetman. As always, great concept once again - HOWEVER, this could have been sooo much better had the scaling not been so far off. You have Yates looking like Dexter Jackson next to Ronnie. Ronnie was 287 in '03, Yates 257 in '93, yet you have Coleman looking 50-60 lbs bigger here. You always need to compare the size of the heads, and hands, to get in the ballpark. Ronnie is bald, with a smallish head, compared to Yates, who even with hair, his head appears small next to Coleman here. Same with the hands. Yates is slightly taller than Coleman, as can be seen in the couple rare comparisons where they are on stage together in '96 in a grand prix show. Yet in this vid, Yates appears shorter. With your expertise, I'm sure you can get the scaling more accurate. Maybe next time.
I'm a big Dorian Yates guy, but the only shot where I see him beating Coleman is in the front abs/thighs. Coleman was absolutely enormous and ripped that year. I think the great Kevin Levrone said it best: "He came out looking like a Silverback Gorilla."
Bad scaling. Dorian was a strong 5'10 and Ronnie was a weak 5'11, half an inch difference. Yet Dorian is standing straight while Ronnie is crunching is most of the poses and still Ronnie looks a full inch or even 2 inches taller in this video, @thelusianopopa will back me on this one . Bad scaling for comparing, I know how hard it is to scale them properly.Still even if it was scaled properly, Ronnie would have a clear mass advantage. Ronnie wins this clearly, he went full mass mode in 2003' while Dorian was already by far the biggest on the stage in 93' so he cut down for crazy conditioning. Especially the back, while Dorian was arguably getting worse after 93' one bodypart that kept getting better and better was the back. His back was the best in 97' and he can match and even beat 03' Ronnie from the back. I wish DOrian came one year at his full size, then we would have a battle of all ages against the 03' Ronnie. But he didn't, so nobody can challenge the king
I have to hard disagree on what you said for/how you scored almost every pose FDB- easy 3 point win for Ronnie. Perfect X-frame and he flows well despite his midsection because everything is just so damn big. Dorian literally doesn’t even have biceps compared to Ronnie and his flow is bad imho. He’s blocky around the abs and too shallow up top to balance it out. ST- other than the tricep Dorian is literally getting dwarfed. The only other thing Dorian has is execution, but this is a 1 point win at most. 3 points is absolutely ridiculous when you literally look like a classic physique competitor next to your opponent. AT- it’s the same story. Ronnie is just so much bigger and doesn’t flow too awfully. 1 point for Dorian imo. FLS- should be at least 2 points for Ronnie. His lats pop almost as well as Dorians (who has a better camera angle for this pose) and he literally looks like a whole different species size wise. BDB- again at least 2 points for Ronnie. Bigger back, actually has biceps and absolutely dominates in the lower half. The only thing Dorian has is definition. BLS- 3 points for Ronnie. The conditioning edge from the BDB is almost gone in this pose. You are again left with what looks like open vs. classic physique. Hell with that lower body Ronnie makes Dorian look like a mens physique athlete even. Overall should have been a way easier Domination for Ronnie imo. 16-2 minimum for Ronnie.
Ronnie still needs to lose like 35 pounds or so. Sorry Dorian had the best combination of mass and conditioning. Ronnie holds way to much water and looks 6 to 7 weeks out here. Not knocking Ronnie i like Ronnie but Ronnie even at his leanest was not even as dry as Dorian.

Awesome work. I do think scaling is off a bit. I know Ronnie had more mass, but the difference was not this much. I know Ronnie will win most mass comparisons, however this is bodybuilding which takes into account aethetics and conditioning, Dorian wins in my book.
Incredible work..No one can really defeat Ronnie's pure slab of mass..The earlier posing stance also makes it impossible in certain shots.... . My only criticism is I think you scaled Dorian slightly to small in comparison .. Top vid tho.
This was close, your scaling is off tho, you can tell even from DY's head he was too small here for this comparison. But comparisons aside I mostly agree, but I feel the rear double bi and rear latspread is not totally in RC's court, it's a really close call here, I'd prolly call it a draw in many ways (on these two poses).
@TheLusianPopa Most Muscular is a mandatory now. And the 90s are long over. And yes his shoulders looked small in most muscular compared to Ronnie. Biceps were asymmetrical and his thighs had no outer sweep.
@TheLusianPopa Dorian has worse symmetry. Especially with those biceps. And asymmetrical back. Of course you don't like the Most Muscular because it shows the glaring flaws from Dorians physique. If it was in Dorians Favour im 100% sure you would agree to include the pose. Haha
Im new to the channel, but have you done a comparison between 98 or 99 Coleman vs 93 Dorian ? In my opinion it would be great as well, the size difference would be much smaller and more interesting .
Amazing work as always SS Man. Dorian's legs are incredibly undersized vs Phil and Ronnie. Especially from the rear his hamstrings and glutes look so disproportionately small its comical in comparison. Should be a clear 2 point win if the whole lower body is so underwhelming. The problem everyone criticized Brandon for Dorian also has excluding calves. Also had Ronnie winning the FLS.

Of course their legs will look bigger! Dorian used to also spread out his legs to the maximum in the rear relax pose and they were indeed massive.
2017 Phil v 03’ Ronnie I wanna see Phil’s biggest version with most impressive back in this match up. Also since both their mid sections weren’t so good in the respective years it seems fair.
The 1993 OLYMPIA was held in Atlanta Georgia, the 2003 OLYMPIA was held in Las Vegas. / Dorian demolished Ronnie (and everyone else) numerous times, and had Dorian not been injured and had competed in '98, he would've stayed OLYMPIA champion. / The footage you're using is blown up on Ronnie's side to make him appear larger than he'd actually be in real competition.

I know Ronnie is in big 2003 version here, but c'mon, you deliberately put Dorian in distant plane.
I like both, Coleman and Yates. I think you slightly favoured Yates, but the picture quality didn't show Yates conditioning in his full extent. So i think in the end you made a very just decision. 👍
Very impressive editing. Unfortunately the angle of each original video makes this look odd :). Dorian’s head (& upper body) is too small/Ronnies too big because of the lower camera angle (below the stage looking up), whilst Ronnie’s appears more straight on. Still, what stands out is Dorian’s superior detail/separation; in comparison Ronnie looks not quite competition ready; he’s too bloated and full of water. ‘98 (aside from Gyno) & ‘99 Ronnie would be a better comparison
At the challenge rounds that were done before in the Olympia Ronnie Coleman won against Dexter Jackson in the abs and thigh. So yes, thighs matter way more than the form of the abs 😂
This awesome video shows why Ronnie Coleman is the Greatest of All time when it comes to pure physique. Dorian or Phil is the best contender to the 2nd spot when they share the rest of the podium based on what and what criteria will be used to measure them. When it comes to the GOAT distinction, Ronnie and Arnold in my opinion are the two GOATs of Bodybuilding. Supersetman took the comparison game to the Next level with these video conparisons. honestly dorian's back double bicep never really did it for me. For some reason his wide lats don't flare out in the pose, that plus his wide waist and lack of outer quad sweep makes his x-frame really mediocre. Sure he has his strong points like his huge traps and overall back detail and hardness as well as his huge calves, but even taking those into account the balance is off, his muscles don't pop one bit and his asymmetry is very apparent (although admittedly Ronnie's asymmetry is comparable).
Ronnie wins, he is just too big for Dorian to contend with (but Dorian is handily beating him in muscle quality, best all time back and better posing). But I would definitely rather have Dorians physique.

"Granite" conditioning is massively overrated in bodybuilding. It's better to be 95% of the way there conditioning wise and still have all of the round muscle fullness like Ronnie here than to over-diet and look flat in poses like the side chest which Dorian unfortunately did, more often than not.

In Ronnie’s early years he hit the front lat perfect . As he got bigger he turned it into a most muscular ab and thigh combo . He could have looked so much better in it

As always, great concept once again - HOWEVER, this could have been sooo much better had the scaling not been so far off. You have Yates looking like Dexter Jackson next to Ronnie. Ronnie was 287 in '03, Yates 257 in '93, yet you have Coleman looking 50-60 lbs bigger here. You always need to compare the size of the heads, and hands, to get in the ballpark. Ronnie is bald, with a smallish head, compared to Yates, who even with hair, his head appears small next to Coleman here. Same with the hands. Yates is slightly taller than Coleman, as can be seen in the couple rare comparisons where they are on stage together in '96 in a grand prix show. Yet in this vid, Yates appears shorter. With your expertise, I'm sure you can get the scaling more accurate. Maybe next time.
I'm a big Dorian Yates guy, but the only shot where I see him beating Coleman is in the front abs/thighs. Coleman was absolutely enormous and ripped that year. I think the great Kevin Levrone said it best: "He came out looking like a Silverback Gorilla."

He has a film of water on his legs and his back is not conditioned and with little detail.
Bad scaling. Dorian was a strong 5'10 and Ronnie was a weak 5'11, half an inch difference. Yet Dorian is standing straight while Ronnie is crunching is most of the poses and still Ronnie looks a full inch or even 2 inches taller in this video, @thelusianopopa will back me on this one . Bad scaling for comparing, I know how hard it is to scale them properly.Still even if it was scaled properly, Ronnie would have a clear mass advantage. Ronnie wins this clearly, he went full mass mode in 2003' while Dorian was already by far the biggest on the stage in 93' so he cut down for crazy conditioning. Especially the back, while Dorian was arguably getting worse after 93' one bodypart that kept getting better and better was the back. His back was the best in 97' and he can match and even beat 03' Ronnie from the back. I wish DOrian came one year at his full size, then we would have a battle of all ages against the 03' Ronnie. But he didn't, so nobody can challenge the king

I have to hard disagree on what you said for/how you scored almost every pose
FDB- easy 3 point win for Ronnie. Perfect X-frame and he flows well despite his midsection because everything is just so damn big. Dorian literally doesn’t even have biceps compared to Ronnie and his flow is bad imho. He’s blocky around the abs and too shallow up top to balance it out.
ST- other than the tricep Dorian is literally getting dwarfed. The only other thing Dorian has is execution, but this is a 1 point win at most. 3 points is absolutely ridiculous when you literally look like a classic physique competitor next to your opponent.
AT- it’s the same story. Ronnie is just so much bigger and doesn’t flow too awfully. 1 point for Dorian imo.
FLS- should be at least 2 points for Ronnie. His lats pop almost as well as Dorians (who has a better camera angle for this pose) and he literally looks like a whole different species size wise.
BDB- again at least 2 points for Ronnie. Bigger back, actually has biceps and absolutely dominates in the lower half. The only thing Dorian has is definition.
BLS- 3 points for Ronnie. The conditioning edge from the BDB is almost gone in this pose. You are again left with what looks like open vs. classic physique. Hell with that lower body Ronnie makes Dorian look like a mens physique athlete even.
Overall should have been a way easier Domination for Ronnie imo.
16-2 minimum for Ronnie.

Ronnie still needs to lose like 35 pounds or so. Sorry Dorian had the best combination of mass and conditioning. Ronnie holds way to much water and looks 6 to 7 weeks out here. Not knocking Ronnie i like Ronnie but Ronnie even at his leanest was not even as dry as Dorian.
That’s what I’m saying. These guys are like two different animals the conditioning is so much greater for Dorian. He does make Ronnie look 6 to 7 weeks out here. Dorian for the win. No greater combo of mass and conditioning
Awesome work. I do think scaling is off a bit. I know Ronnie had more mass, but the difference was not this much. I know Ronnie will win most mass comparisons, however this is bodybuilding which takes into account aethetics and conditioning, Dorian wins in my book.
Incredible work..No one can really defeat Ronnie's pure slab of mass..The earlier posing stance also makes it impossible in certain shots.... . My only criticism is I think you scaled Dorian slightly to small in comparison .. Top vid tho.

This was close, your scaling is off tho, you can tell even from DY's head he was too small here for this comparison. But comparisons aside I mostly agree, but I feel the rear double bi and rear latspread is not totally in RC's court, it's a really close call here, I'd prolly call it a draw in many ways (on these two poses).
Dirian has the perfect structure for a bodybuilder. I say this because he doesn't have a weak pose

Most Muscular is weak. Because of his undersized arms and small shoulders. Front double also quite bad. Because of his biceps and wide waist.
@TheLusianPopa Most Muscular is a mandatory now. And the 90s are long over. And yes his shoulders looked small in most muscular compared to Ronnie. Biceps were asymmetrical and his thighs had no outer sweep.

Dorian's legs are incredibly undersized vs Phil and Ronnie. Especially from the rear his hamstrings and glutes look so disproportionately small its comical in comparison. Should be a clear 2 point win if the whole lower body is so underwhelming.
The problem everyone criticized Brandon for Dorian also has excluding calves. Also had Ronnie winning the FLS.

The 1993 OLYMPIA was held in Atlanta Georgia, the 2003 OLYMPIA was held in Las Vegas. / Dorian demolished Ronnie (and everyone else) numerous times, and had Dorian not been injured and had competed in '98, he would've stayed OLYMPIA champion. / The footage you're using is blown up on Ronnie's side to make him appear larger than he'd actually be in real competition.

Ronnie is not taller, not with bigger hands (you do not put muscles on hands) and not with bigger head. Dorian is obviously in the distant plane in your video.
Another comparison you can do is via Nasser. Nasser looks as big as Dorian in 1997 but much bigger that Ronnie in 1998. Same weight. I know Ronnie is in big 2003 version here, but c'mon, you deliberately put Dorian in distant plane.
I like both, Coleman and Yates. I think you slightly favoured Yates, but the picture quality didn't show Yates conditioning in his full extent. So i think in the end you made a very just decision. 👍

Very impressive editing. Unfortunately the angle of each original video makes this look odd :). Dorian’s head (& upper body) is too small/Ronnies too big because of the lower camera angle (below the stage looking up), whilst Ronnie’s appears more straight on.
Still, what stands out is Dorian’s superior detail/separation; in comparison Ronnie looks not quite competition ready; he’s too bloated and full of water.
‘98 (aside from Gyno) & ‘99 Ronnie would be a better comparison

This awesome video shows why Ronnie Coleman is the Greatest of All time when it comes to pure physique. Dorian or Phil is the best contender to the 2nd spot when they share the rest of the podium based on what and what criteria will be used to measure them. When it comes to the GOAT distinction, Ronnie and Arnold in my opinion are the two GOATs of Bodybuilding.

honestly dorian's back double bicep never really did it for me. For some reason his wide lats don't flare out in the pose, that plus his wide waist and lack of outer quad sweep makes his x-frame really mediocre. Sure he has his strong points like his huge traps and overall back detail and hardness as well as his huge calves, but even taking those into account the balance is off, his muscles don't pop one bit and his asymmetry is very apparent (although admittedly Ronnie's asymmetry is comparable).
Ronnie wins, he is just too big for Dorian to contend with (but Dorian is handily beating him in muscle quality, best all time back and better posing). But I would definitely rather have Dorians physique.

"Granite" conditioning is massively overrated in bodybuilding. It's better to be 95% of the way there conditioning wise and still have all of the round muscle fullness like Ronnie here than to over-diet and look flat in poses like the side chest which Dorian unfortunately did, more often than not.
