- Welcome everyone to The Football Boot Hour, thanks to everyone for joining us last week as we went live, this week, we are doing it again, hopefully with more success!
We will of course be starting with the big release this week, Messi's new gold F50s do we rate them!?
However, this week we want your help, Andrew and I have built quite a collection over time, and, some would say our football boot collections have got a little out of hand. So, we are going to show you some of our boots, ask you to help us decided whether we keep, wear, or sell. Of course @lockhartbootblog and I will try and help each other out so that we can slim down our collections and maybe raise some money for some more reviews.
Of course we will finish up with your questions, and, as we are live! You can ask us questions in the chat and interact with us all episode!

Adi have been absolutely killing it this year. I don't even care that these are F50s they're just good boots.
i agree with james about the compression fit tongue in the f50, i have a reasonably wide and high-volume foot and the tongue just bunches up too much. when i get on my toes it folds up and doesnt return back to shape without tugging up the tongue. U-throat all the way for me. the upper also felt really plasticky, i dont rate the boot at all. maybe i got a shit pair. didnt enjoy, didnt keep.
Fair enough, it definitely not a boot for everyone.
It's not quite going to work for everyone, I still really like the boot but that fit isn't really doing it for me.
Honestly I think at this point that barring someone’s personalized preference, the GambaTrax outsole really is subjectively the best outsole produced. At least in a balanced spectrum
It's absolutely up there for me for sure.
It is for me, people will have preferences but it ticks all my boxes.
I found some fg speedflows in the same white/red color way, on Dicks sporting goods for $186 in my size. Never would’ve expected to see speedflows on there in 2024

Seeing the Alphas shown off and wanting to try Mizuno alphas. Do you think it’s worth getting them now or waiting to the next generation? I know there are slight differences in the thickness but are the elite pretty much the same as MIJ version just made in a different location?
i have a pair of mizuno alpha elite AGs and they are fantastic. i have reasonably wide feet and they fit really well. feel much softer than f50s for example and have really solid traction on AG. i havent felt the MIJ ones but i assume the materials are the same
The Alpha is an incredible boot, definitely worth checking out. It does feel like there will be a new model in December but the current one is so good, It is worth trying,
@@flakers1337 The upper is slightly nicer in the Japan model IMO, and the Japan model also has KaRVO, which increases springback.
Worth picking up the current gen while you can likely get them cheaper on sale.
How much of a challenge is it for you guys to pick what boots to buy and collect and spend all that money with what you make off TH-cam and do you guys have to find other ways of making money?
James has a full time gig, I only work part time. My blog is essentially a loss making hobby. It is a massive challenge. There is a constant battle with what to keep and what to sell. For example, I did not want to sell either my Roteiro or my regular Preds, but I got offers that were too good to refuse.
So we actually make very little money off TH-cam, to give you an insight each podcast episode makes about $5 and the Boot Wizard channel makes around $200 a month. Which obviously doesn't even cover the cost of 1 boot. So as Andrew mentioned I work full time outside of Boot Wizard and fit Boot Wizard in where I can, it's why I don't make as many videos as for example SR4U or Noah. In terms of what I buy, I also kind of get dictated to by the market, if it's popular I'll probably make a video on it because obviously that drives views, but then I'll also pick up boots that I really want to try that might be less popular, the Asics DS Light X Fly 5 SE for example, I don't expect huge views but it's a boot I really wanted to try. So essentially the above is why there is so much to be sold.
