  • In this part 2 (final) of the series, you will see how the restored SJ200 came together. It is a fine sounding guitar. That's saying something considering the condition it was in when it arrived.

@@ThePreyMantas one of the most rewarding ones I did was for a disabled young friend of mine, on an old Kay classical someone left in the park. It was worth doing just to see the look on her face. (and I did it as a freebie for her, and sorted her out with another friend of mine to teach her to play it). It's what makes the world go round.

Just a couple of things: First I have a SJ200 and that's how I landed on this page, I love the restore videos of this guitar - Thank you!
Second, my dad used to play the Soldiers last letter (I think it's Earnest Tubb) and you play it just like my dad.
He's been gone 33 years now, but I found myself wiping the tears away as you sang it.
    Thank you!

Jerry great job on this J 200 Gibson guitar. One of my favorite guitars. Looks and sounds good. 100% improvement for what the customer wanted. I love this. old guitar with a little age. Shows a lot of caricature. Anyone can go buy a new guitar. Always nice to watch a master Luthier at work. I’ve learned a lot watching your videos. Thanks Jerry. Look forward to the next. Take care Jerry. Until next time. One of my favorite songs you performed on that old Gibson. By Ernest Tubs. You are a true Legend.

Since way back in part 1 of this video, when Jerry said that there was nothing he could do about that messed up area where the other pickguard used to be, I knew he wouldn't leave it alone. I knew he would figure something out, and I was right. Fantastic job, thanks for letting us sit in the shop and watch you werk, God Bless.

Those who sit at home on the couch and criticize without publishing their own video should be Gagged until they learn to offer constructive criticism and valid ideas! The way you went after that huge mess by the sound hole reminded me of how I took some steel wool to a ruined record album that skipped across 3 songs and actually made it somewhat playable again by sanding off the gouged out vinyl surface until the needle could track the groove again without hopping across the LP. I think your unconventional approach at repairing the extensive damage to the guitars finish improved the looks of it 100% over what you started with. And the bridge repair was amazing to watch!! The patch you made was nearly invisible and prevented the top from being pulled apart by the tension of the strings. As usual you did a great repair job that your viewers were lucky to be able to observe and learn from!

Congratulations from Spain, Mr. Rosa...
