3:16 wasto. Even the happiest people have their limits of what they can smile at. Like godot from ace attorney says "the only time a person can cry is when its all over" joy thinks its all over so she releases all the tears built up
One of my brilliant friends noticed this while we had watched the movie. She is so observant and she understood why it had to happen. So happy you did this video! In retrospect I’m happy that Joy cried to feel sadness and realize that Sadness was necessary for growth, for Riley. Also, Riley was situationally depressed. For her to lack Joy and Sadness to go through this really crippled her. She was left with Anger, Fear and Disgust. Managing well but not the best for endurance. I like when Joy and Sadness returned and worked together, Riley healed.
Question. If the mother main emotion is sadness and the fathers is anger do they deal with depression and anger issues? I ask that because thier emotions are sitting down which makes me think they don't have a rotation where some other emotion is in the middle of the panel and in control. Also, is it possible that her dad was in the military? I assumed that when his emotions acted like soldiers, with even the setup of the head space looking like the area of a boat where they would control the weapons and where the captain would be. What do you think?
actually that would make sense, hell maybe it's because of the dad's life in the military they have those as their main emotions, the dad may have developed anger towards his officers because, you know, stress and the mom may have gotten a minor depression from her loved one being away for so long.
Halo Gold, on the sitting down part, adults are generally more mature and grounded. Riley gets a new “console” that more closely resembles that of adults especially her parents. She wil become more mature and grounded, with the emotions taking turns to process her life and enable her growth.
Well, Sadness in Mom’s mind may represent understanding and empathy once the emotions develop later in life. Anger in Dad’s mind may have developed into dominance and the one who creates rules in the house
What made Joy cry depression. The thought of letting Riley down made Joy feel depressed and as a person who has and still does struggle with it a split second of depression can drag down even the happiest times.
I guess I instinctively understood it while while watching the movie so that I didn't even wonder about it. You did a really good job of explaining it though! The movie really does show how we actually evolve from simple one-at-a-time emotions to more complex ones as we grow from babies to adults.
I think that all of the characters in Riley's head are more like embodiments of each emotions, but they are sentient enough to experience other emotions to some degree. plus, if all of them would've been able to show only one emotion, they would've been very boring as characters.
Bing Bong made one of the most greatest sacrifices in all of Disney history I think and he didn't even let her know what he was going to do he just wanted to do it for the sake of Rilet, and he was cheering for her the fact that she was up there now
I think they went to the same school in the original and it's implied that Cruella became wealthy after school, whereas Anita stayed in the same social class. In the live action movie Anita worked for Cruella.
wait think about it.. riley was mostly a happy kid, rarely cried, but then at that moment when she came out to her parents about missing home, she bursts into tears joy is the same way, but when she falls in the memory dump, she bursts into tears... i felt like they either bottled up their feelings or they were trying not to be sad
In my opinion, the entire movie is about the process of entering depression. It starts with you losing interest in things you loved for your entire life (e.g. the hockey for Riley), then the total lack of emotion. Then, your entire personality is completely gone. It even reaches to a point where you forget happiness (as it was happening to Joy in the movie, she is almost forgotten). For someone who has been deeply depressed (I was really depressed the last two years), it's easy to notice it in the movie. For everyone out there who is battling depression, hang on there. Stay strong. It may seem like it won't go away, but you can really get better with help.
Seeing as the emotions only have their own personality trait and share rileys memories rather than having their own independent ones probably not. If they did have their own emotions then it would likely be they joy had 5 other joys, anger 5 other angers etc not the setup like humans have
I want to know if she would actually be "forgotten" Bing-Bong was created by the mind but Joy was always there and he was already pretty much forgotten anyway
very true, cause notice: bing-bong was fading away almost rapidly while joy stayed held together the entire time, and i'm pretty sure they got knocked down there right around the same time
This dude's DVD section is so organised! You can see all the Toy Story things together and it looks like Disney is at the top area with Disney Pixar near the bottom as the top has Zootopia and Frozen whilst the bottom has Up, Finding Dory and also the whole Toy Story collection.
The answer is simple, children's emotions are basic, what they feel is what the emotion is, but as you get older certain emotions are fused together to make new ones to cope for a change in the world. For example melancholy is sadness and anger mixed together, excitement is fear and joy, etc. Joy cries because she as an emotion is changing along with riley and can feel other things now rather than outright happiness. It's why at the end a memory is created that is the fusion of joy and sadness.
Also before this when bing bong lost his cart Sadness comforts him and Joy sees that being sad helped him in that moment. I think that was one of the first moments that Joy really understood Sadness and that allowed Joy to begin to comprehend that emotion.
Your channel is seriously one of my favorites! Right up there with the Super Carlin Bros! I've never encountered a video of yours I didn't love. Total inspiration for us small content creators! You rock, dude!
I described in my video on Sadness (linked in the description) that I think there is some deeper entity or conciousness or something that creates everything.
In an anatomical sense, it’s different parts of the brain: some parts of the brain are sensory (what we perceive in the world around us and how we process the information) and parts that tell us how to respond to a specific situation with what emotion. It’s very complex to describe without getting too descriptive and using anatomical terms
Every emotion has a job to do. If they can't do their job controlling Riley emotions, Riley is unable to feel these emotions. Without any of these emotional beings, Riley cannot feel and they cannot do their job. When Joy was sucked out of headquarters, she could not do her job. Because you can do her job, Riley was unable to feel happy. After a prolonged period of time not administering joyful feelings to Riley, it eventually got to the point where Joy was not joyful any more. This is one of the reasons why she cried, and why she was able to cry. When Riley lost her happiness, Joy lost hers.
Heres how i view the movie: Riley is going through a big change in her life and she doesnt know how to react, sadness takes over as she hasnt yet gone through something like this before and sadness is missing the old memories, making them sad. But why is sadness gone as well in the movie? Well, she is depressed, it doesnt mean feeling sad all the time sometimes its just...Feeling numb to the world, which is why the other three are still there, as anger is something you feel even when your numb. Fear is there as you are scared youll never get out of it. Disgust is basically judgement as well, like you are disgusted with yourself. This is kind of just a word dump, im sorry if anyone couldnt understand
sadness: skin=blue & hair=blue anger: skin=red & hair=fire/red disgust: skin=green & hair=green fear: skin=purple & hair=purple *joy: skin=yellow, but her hair is blue?* maybe this is because happiness in of itself can be a sad thing sometimes? i’m not sure.
She maybe has Sadness Touches Onto herself, otherwise she wouldn't have cried in the pit. And/Or, because, She isn't perfect, unlike other emotions, she has a little of the others, but more present is sadness within her. But this is my theory and opinion
🤔 So I guess what Isaac was trying to say is that the emotions began to accept each-other’s influence and work together instead of individually as a part of mentally maturing. I kind of like that theory! Cool explanation!
If you haven’t done a Pirates of the Caribbean theory, talk about Davy Jones and Calypso’s past relationship. It’s actually a good and interesting story for you
Loved this video. Actually I enjoy all of your videos. I'm a huge Disney fan and I find your theories to be very interesting. Looking forward to another year of them.
I think is because the emotions are not only well, emotions but the defenders of such emotions, and all the spectrum of them, disgust finds things tasty, and fear protect us from the danger, so Joy crying is a representation of the “joy” of fight for your happiness, is not a pleasure sensation, but is the light in the dark, different for sadness that is more of accepting the pain.
I always wondered if the emotions in the Parents know or there might be emotions in Riley? They talk about 'the husband' and Riley, but they never say recognise behaviour. When Riley acts out, she's sent to her room. What if the emotions in the dad's head was like: DA: Okay, her Anger is in control right now. Joy, what do you suggest? DJ: Give her space. Love the video and your " the original Disneyland" shirt with steamboat Willy on it 😁 and can you make a video of how all the emotions are both female and male while her mums and dad's emotions are match there gender? Because I never got that
@@IsaacCarlson really, because is something I've been thing about my theory is that she still wondering who she is like dating wise she trying to see who she has a interest in like her imaginatery boyfriend is typical twilight like boyfriend (no offence to twilight fans) but and at the end of the move she runs into the boy but doesn't really knows how act so she might be figuring out who she likes dating wise
I think there's a couple theories. One is she is still discovering herself and what gender she wants to be/likes to be with. Another is when you are prepuberty both genders can be present. Another is emotions dont have genders but their appearance changes as their body does. So older people start to fall into a same outfit style syndrome.
As a gifted Empath, I am able to let myself be vulnerable, because I'm able to allow myself to feel sad, and I use it to help heal people, like my friends, for example, and I think my friends know that if they ever need a shoulder to cry on, they can cry on mine, and if I ever need a shoulder to cry on, I've got theirs, and I am very much in touch with my emotions!!!😌😌😌😌😌
I finally saw Inside Out the other day and noticed something: her parents’ emotions matched their genders while Riley’s emotions are both male and female. I wonder if the male emotions eventually become female as kids grow up... hmmmmm
Why do I feel as though Anger is the one head emotion in control in my head-headquarters? I loved this movie, when I saw it. It was a good movie. Am I the only that wants them to make a sequel? It would be interesting. Happy New Year. Have a nice day/night.
The complexity of emotions is not because it is beyond our control but rather it is for the reason that we do not understand it... The movie is very philosophical and meaningful 😊💕
She already expressed some of the other emotions before that point, if I'm not mistaken. Disgust towards Sadness and how polar opposite and negative (or so she believes) Sadness' emotion is. And probably a few instances of anger. (Pardon me if this isn't right, it's been too long since I last watched this movie and I probably forgot/imagined some things.)
Its seems like joy was in charge of a kids mind, while the man(dad) seemed like anger was in charge, while the woman(mom) sadness was in charge. Of course the emotions work together but as they mature maybe it was time for sadness to take charge. It make sense that as adult we try not to be sad and angry, so who better to control that but sadness and anger

Sooo, basically... the emotions started to develop empathy and could relate to the other emotions better. Since sadness seems to also function as empathy, and the whole plot is about accepting sadness, that makes a lot of sense!
I've always thought of it as if Joy had emotions inside her head, that's why she experiences all of those emotions, meaning those emotions have emotions and it would be an endless loop.

Have a nice day/night.
batmanfanforever08 bad news: there will not be a sequel :(
Because Pixar has decided not to make more sequels
anger is definitely the head emotion in mine and i kinda hate that lol
@@hactonlucasberlon2281 screw pixar then lol
I come from the future and you indeed got your wish
The complexity of emotions is not because it is beyond our control but rather it is for the reason that we do not understand it... The movie is very philosophical and meaningful 😊💕
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! LUV UR VIDS!!!!
Happy New Year! So glad you enjoy them!
That was great! I can’t wait for the videos you will come up with next!
This was my biggest Question when I watched this movie. I was like: Joy why are you crying?! ._.
Love your vids
Thank you 😊😊
Yay your welcome
She already expressed some of the other emotions before that point, if I'm not mistaken. Disgust towards Sadness and how polar opposite and negative (or so she believes) Sadness' emotion is. And probably a few instances of anger. (Pardon me if this isn't right, it's been too long since I last watched this movie and I probably forgot/imagined some things.)
no no, it's absolutely right, you are very much pardoned since you are correct
Happy new year. Thanks for doing this video, I've been so curious about this for awhile.
Happy New Year Issac!
Happy New Year Issac! :D
And sorry I'm late :(
Happy New Year Issac! Great video!😊
Happy New Year, Simona. Glad you liked the video 😊
Because it’s impossible to have a single emotion all the time
Earliest I've ever been to a Wotso video
If the feelings were only one this would be the emoji movie
Happy New Year, Isaac!! I hope that your channel continues to successfully thrive in 2019.
Agreed! I have faith in what I'm doing. Hopefully everything keeps going well
Its seems like joy was in charge of a kids mind, while the man(dad) seemed like anger was in charge, while the woman(mom) sadness was in charge. Of course the emotions work together but as they mature maybe it was time for sadness to take charge. It make sense that as adult we try not to be sad and angry, so who better to control that but sadness and anger
I find it cool that joy has blue hair which can symbolise that she has a bit of sadness .
You did an amazing job! I love how you explained this 😀
They guys from Super Carlin Brothers say “It’s hard not to imagine a little blue joy in her mind taking over the controls.” And 288th.
Happy New Year Isaac
Wait…
If the emotions feel emotions…
Does that mean that emotions have emotions,
and the emotions emotions have emotions…
I thought of that too!
Woo!
You just got a new subscriber!!
@ Wotso Videos, GREAT video to start the new year -- 2019!!!
Man! I've been wondering this for a while! Thanks!
Happy new year I also can't wait for the next new videos and for all the new and magical things to come this year like you getting to tell more amazing and magical things ps I love Disney movies thus other things related to Disney wich is way love hering and taking about this things!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Another thing I might have noticed in your review is that, maybe Joy realized that, if she never came back, the lack of joy in Riley's mind might lead to depression, or worse. Though of course, who would say that in a kids movie?
I think that Riley's emotions run around and fight over the panel because she doesn't have full "adult" control of her emotions like her parents
Has it ever occurred to you that emotions have emotions? I know it has for me.
I love your energy!

Yes finally!
Nice to see you in 2019! :D Lots of more videos to see and hang out :D
Tears of joy; literally.
