Cutlerylover just did a vid about this and ill say the same thing with some more:This happened about 40 mins from me and I have been there many times. Lately the location he was "stabbed," has been a place of drunken fights and melees due to change of ownership and in spite of large security element including LEO. I think he was assaulted. I EDC neck carry covert under shirt past 30 years. Current past 5 years is a BOKER SFB. Over those 30 years my Knife has fallen out x3 from bad sheath or knife handle caught but that was before good kydex and more specific inverted carry sheath. I was scratched but not stabbed or cut in these circumstances. My biggest issue is that most neck knives are at most 4inches..your gonna say that a random incident happened that perfect storm that it detached and stabbed exactly at a fatal spot. My favorite from the news artical is that it states "It is unclear what the purpose of the knife was or why Mr Kenney was wearing it around his neck."----blaringly obvious was that the purpose of the knife was to either cut or stab something as that is what a knife does.....and again ovious that it was the way to easily carry a knife specfic a fixed blade knife---Massachusetts USA---just send us all your dumb people.....btw I dont live in that state. I wonder what they describe as a knife necklace? Maybe Olight Oknife Claw thing? And that it was still attached? It was either attached to lanyard or attached to said victim. News people are dumb too.

Thanks so much for sharing and your thoughts. I don't think he was assaulted... unless he was playing with the knife with someone and fell onto it in a "perfectly" fatal way. But in that case, the fact that it was a neck knife is irrelevant. Thanks again.

I agree with your assessments... a knife necklace could mean something similar to the Spyderco "dog tag" by Serge Panchenko. Something more like a pendant where the blade is not contained in a sheath but is actually a folding blade... i could see those types of knives being more dangerous in a freak accident. Of course im only speculating... very curious incident indeed!

I’ve looked into neck knives for years but never bought one myself. I would carry an SAK on necklace but only if I had to. I have carried fixed blades on my shoulder straps on my pack but that’s it.
It’s too bad that someone had to die regardless of the way he carried his knife. I hope his family can find peace with his passing.
