I have a walking staff made from Holly.(I didn't cut it down!) It had been cleared and used the branch. I also stop by a Holly tree on my walk and I swear I receive messages from that tree 🌲
Omgoodness! I didn't know all of this. My name is Hollie and I just got a Holly tattoo on my hand/wrist! Wish I could share a photo of it! Thanks for the interesting info!!!🤘🏻
Love it! We just bought two holly trees today, prince and princess. Mostly I had them in mind for feeding the birds. This video has solidified my love for holly!
Greetings from warm and sunny Guyana 🇬🇾, South America.... your video has caused me to appreciate the holly tree even better. Did you mention what group of trees they are categorised under?
Like your videos and your book keep on with spreading knowledge about foraging your delivery style is both informative and entertaining best wishes to you and yours
This is a beautiful story I'm gonna share with my mom she's been wanting me to take out her holly tree and I haven't I was going to use it this year for Christmas decorations It's funny that you said it blooms berries it hasn't bloomed berries in a long time in this year it started I'm hoping it will be red before Christmas. Her holly bush is about 42 years old
Hello hope your all well. I never knew about the berries, also if theres lots of berries at this time of year its supposed to be a hard winter i believe. ✌
Love it, thank you! I've just discovered you through the Foraging Wild UK group and instantly subscribed. I'm a big fan of the oral storytelling tradition and love your enthusiasm. I started out posting 'Green Wizardry' as a way of contributing to my friend's virtual community bonfire sessions during the first lockdown and got quite into it, so now I share my family's journey turning our ordinary garden into a suburban homestead. Pop along if you're interested in that sort of thing.💚
Great video love your energy I have a female the mother in law gave us this 14 years ago when we moved into our house is it easy to grow from the Berry seeds I watched another video that said they may lay dormant for 2 to 3 years before they may germinate??
There's some in NZ,there was one on the old farm I was on.but I just got into home distilling and I was wondering if I could use the berries for making a brandy
We didn't manage to make an oak tree video this year we wanted one with acorns but it wasn't a great year for them here this year. We've got lots of other videos ✌️😁
Great video. I did also hear that one of the reasons for the tradition of hanging a Christmas wreath on the door is that in some quarters it was seen as too pagan and unChristian to bring holly and ivy into the house (so no more decking the halls with boughs of holly), but many people still wanted the protective powers, so put a wreath on the door instead.
Best foraging videos I've watched, started research in 2020 and have learnt more from you than any other source You should write a book to draw together that wealth of knowledge Kindest regards
Ps if you know of any good foraging books I would be appreciative if you could share as I have bought a few however they are mainly aimed at cooking recipes rather than usages and identification
Wow, this was so awesome!! I loved seeing the tree but I absolutely loved all the information you gave about the holly tree!! I loved seeing the sun coming up and seeing your breath as you were speaking! Wonderful video!! 🎄🎄🎄
Hmm? I have come across holly trees on a walk way and in some small woods by where i live and noticed the leaves on the branches has no spikes, i wasn't sure if this was normal as i had never seen spikeless leaves on a branch with leaves that have spikes, and this was at the base of the holly tree?

Holly is still used in Ireland to ward of Ringworm in cattle and it works by hanging leafy branches in cattle sheds, and yes it works.

You forgot to mention that the Holly tree is what magic wands are made of
Holly wood

You are exactly right!
I really should have mentioned that 🤣
We have hundreds of hollys, under live oaks here, on my land, the story seems true, bees love hollys 2, and have clear honey.
