Love your passion for nature and how you go into such great description of the plant's life cycle. Truly we have an awesome and mighty creator who brings forth all life and instills it in a tiny seed that can bring forth a great tree. He created it and said, "It was good." He made all things for our use and we can praise Him for that.
What a delight this video popped up in my feed. I love the Rowan tree, and you are a joy to watch. You are so happy and have uplifted me. Thank you ! 🌳❤️
I have a real obsession about Rowans and have always wanted one but never had a garden large enough unfortunately.. Thank you so much.. Yes its a Fibonacci thing, if people don't believe in miracles then think again. Blows y mind too!! Take care keep educating us please.
Oh this is perfect timing! We've moved into a house with a huge garden, I'm re-wilding the bottom half and on Tuesday we're going to buy a Rowan tree to give us some lovely shade and a beautiful crop of berries for the wildlife (and us!)
I found this video bc I looked up my name on youtube and I realized there is actually a rowan tree in my parents backyard! this video was so interesting! i love your presence, I can feel your joy and love for nature
I bought your book after viewing one video. I can tell it's a wealth of knowledge and magic! The passion you two have for foraging comes across in your videos and book as well. Really looking forward to diving into the book! Thanks so much!
Wow thanks for the informative video! You hit all of the talking points I read online plus more. The rowan tree seems mystical indeed. Glad that it plays such an important role with wildlife as well. Cheers.
In Sweden we know it as Rönn. Nice to hear the viking story at the end, my last name is actually Thorsson, as in son of Thor haha! Now i have to try some rowan Berry for some jam or something. Cheers!
My wife, husband and myself live in Oregon. So mamy of the plants thatyou teach about thrive in our region. Thank you. Your love of each other's and for nature are inspiring.

Hi Dane, loving your videos and contents, is is possible you might do a video on the Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) tree? or refer me to it if it already exists?
It was my birthday yesterday and guess what!!?? My friends bought me your book! Xx not had a proper look yet but flicking through, I know I'll have hours of fun x
Oh I so love your enthusiasm for nature - I wish more people had it. Again another informative video and loved the re-enactment of Thor's Rowan Tree... Love and peace to you all from Australia x
It's so good seeing a video made with such thorough knowedge of the plants.. and seeing someone clearly so besotted with these plants, just as i am.. I can't grow this one, but I look at your description on all the different levels and transfer that to find an almost equivalent species here, in subtropical australia :) Thank you for all that you share. :)
The rowan tree is the tree that supports the grandmothers of creation, the crones. Just a little more mythology you might like. Thank you for your playful, joyous love of nature.
We call it Mountain Ash here in Canada. I've only seen the bright red fruits. Most people here look at the tree as quite useless. But it is a pretty tree, in my opinion.
I was so surprised that your video was recommended for reference when looking up the Rowan on Google! Thank you for the info, and interesting video - was always watching your stuff on 'Wild food foraging plants and fungi UK'. Yes, it blows my mind too, all these beautiful colours and nature; the whole of creation working in synergy with our incredible creator, and for us - none of this would exist without our God, Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ!
I've just brewed a batch of this & included forest mushrooms in my muck. After watching this I'm more excited than ever. It'll take a number of months before winter sets that I can crack into it. Fantastic video btw🍄
Thank you for this lovely video. The rowan berries on my tree look ready already. I'm sure they're earlier than usual. I'd like to use some should I pick some and freeze them to replicate a frost or should I wait a while? If anyone knows, I'd be very grateful 🙏
Hi guys, I am blessed with 2 Rowan trees in my garden. So happy to have your book. So, I think it’s time to make some jam or something with these berries . Thank you, you beautiful people. God bless. Geoffers.🙂❤️🙏
Very interesting knowledgable vlog . Thankyou ❤️ Just ordered your book as a treat . It will arrive on Monday 5th Sept ,our 35th wedding anniversary .Happy Anniversary to us . 🍾🥂💞 About to make Damson Jam now 🥰 xx
Found you while looking for info on the rowan tree. We have one outside our kitchen at work and I have seen every variety of bird frequent the tree. I'm a birder and I have plenty of land at home to grow these trees. I plan on getting some. I love and share your enthusiasm for nature. Thank you!
I truly love your channel. You should have a million subscribers. Your book will be delivered tomorrow, and I am so excited to dive in and see if any of the plants grow in my area.
Just found your channel, in our standard garden, among other tree's we have a 10 year old rowan and another as a wedding gift last year. Truly stunning trees. Am really enjoying your videos.
Here in Newfoundland we call it the dogberry tree and we use it for wine and jam or we used to in the rural areas it still is but in areas that would be more like towns or cities there's a common myth that it's toxic
This is why it annoys me when Christians assume I left because of somebody else's interpretation of the religion or some leader's behavior. Nope, the text itself tells me that if this god WERE true, he chose to be my enemy. My greatness is non-negotiable. Thanks for the amazing message.
Your videos always seem so timely! My 4yo just asked today if we can "eat those berries" and having seen this video was out (but not watched yet) I realized there was a good chance it was Rowan. Sure enough... Good to know they need some cold weather first, and thanks for the reminder to check the elderberry! Washington state, US

@@homeiswhereourheartis hi thanks for letting me know,,i've just ordered it now....I really look forward to reading it....does it also contain recipies for each wild ingredient...
There is a beautiful painting by the Russian artist, E.Burbichev from a Russian folk song, Curly Rowan Tree, A sad song of a young bride compared to a rowan tree with unripened fruit. As the fruit is not ready to be picked, the young bride is not ready for marriage. The colors in the painting are stunning. Look it up if you can. That is how I learned of the Rowan Tree.
Amazing video, thank you so much for sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge. I am wondering if you were a Steiner/Waldorf student or if you are intuitively like this. Keep up the good work. Just about to order your book. We made lilac cordial so far from your videos and it is simply amazing.
@@homeiswhereourheartis Faboulos, it is even better if you are like this intuitively. What lovely vibes you guys have. 🎉 We also home educate in a similar way. 🤗
Today while exploring our property I found a young 3" high rowan. In my neck of the woods, Amqui Quebec, I identified it as an American Mountain Ash. It has some thorns and the bright orange berries seem to have hairy thorns on them as well at some point in their growing stage as not all the berries had them. I'm going to wait until a couple of hard frosts which are very soon to try them. That's if the moose, gray and blue jays don't get them first :)
What I didn't see is a real definition on how to identify the Rowan from the poisonous Bane berry which is similar or did i miss something. Great presentation.
