Seem to follow the same design
Years ago I read we share 20% of our DNA with oak trees - genetics has moved on, that might have been revised!
However, look up the structural formulas for haemoglobin and chlorophyll - see what you get

Love your passion for nature and how you go into such great description of the plant's life cycle. Truly we have an awesome and mighty creator who brings forth all life and instills it in a tiny seed that can bring forth a great tree. He created it and said, "It was good." He made all things for our use and we can praise Him for that.

Today while exploring our property I found a young 3" high rowan. In my neck of the woods, Amqui Quebec, I identified it as an American Mountain Ash. It has some thorns and the bright orange berries seem to have hairy thorns on them as well at some point in their growing stage as not all the berries had them. I'm going to wait until a couple of hard frosts which are very soon to try them. That's if the moose, gray and blue jays don't get them first :)

Sure enough... Good to know they need some cold weather first, and thanks for the reminder to check the elderberry!

There is a beautiful painting by the Russian artist, E.Burbichev from a Russian folk song, Curly Rowan Tree, A sad song of a young bride compared to a rowan tree with unripened fruit. As the fruit is not ready to be picked, the young bride is not ready for marriage. The colors in the painting are stunning. Look it up if you can. That is how I learned of the Rowan Tree.
