You Brits are a riot....thanks for making my day as an American Photographer. Got to see some amazing photos from places I would love to visit and Scotland is calling me home!
Another wonderful show, informative and entertaining. You must be extremely proud of your daughter Marcus, Xiana did a fantastic job reviewing the Pentax 17. I loved her comments about leaving the lens cap on. Well done Xiana.
Great job Xiana! Your segment was informative and entertaining. You, and that other Mcadam person on the show, my film camera is coming off the shelf. I hope you enjoyed your time in NYC!
Excellent episode as always! I should have waited a bit longer to watch this one, brought back the holiday blues, haha! Just came back from my first trip to the UK and EU and holy heck do I ever miss it. Ya'll hiring? Just kidding... kinda.. haha! Anyway, great stuff as always, really liked the film development segment, seems simple enough, and I've really wanted to get into developing as it clearly reduces the costs of shooting film drastically. Looking forward to the next one! Thanks!
This may be your best show yet! I have loved the Calendar challenge and Xianna was awesome! I hope you are able continue to produce these high quality productions! Thanks for taking me along!
Fantastic job on the challenge. It was a thoroughly enjoyable watch throughout. Incredible amount of time and effort has clearly gone into it, but not just the challenge, the planning and post production as well. How lucky are we to have such a beautiful and diverse landscape in the Britain? Well done Xiana, far too cool for the Photography Online gang!
What an absolutely fabulous segment by Xiana! Love the show always, but this just made my day. She is a natural! Really enjoyed hearing her perspective.
Another great and informative video guys. Many thanks. PS: Mr McAdam: watch out mate, I think that there is a little lady looking to take over your job ! What a great presentation so many thanks Xiana - well done.
Very very cool episode! The boys sure had one fantastic week of their lives, I now do understand, why Marcus always has his proper ability to teach complicated stuff - because of the enormous talented ghostwriter Xiana, and for the (ambivalent... ) remembrance of my black and white Days in the 80s and early 90s. Thanks a lot, this for sure is the most valuable content on the web, rock on!😊
That is the most adorable camera reviewer Ever! She did a wonderful job. Like she said, the Pentax 17 is a great everyday pocket p&s camera if you can deal with the half (35mm) frame.
South Downs wins the best of in my opinion, which is just one opinion. Outside of landscapes, an image of Ruth should be included and can take top honors of best image. Great series, fun times, and now the thinking for the 2026 calendar should begin.
What an amazing young lady Xiana is, clearly following in her father's footsteps, good bit of reportage on an interesting new camera, and some great pictures too.
Best camera review ever. I never wanted to buy the camera but my favourite city, a very charming young journalist and my style of humour made me rethink my decision. How cute can a camera review be? Will save the video for later, my daughter is 2yrs old and I have to show her what we will do once she is bigger :)
A great episode, Xiana is amazing, a natural host. Hope she loved it too. Interesting about developing too, one day, when time allows, I will try. I think it will go full circle, as everything digital soon goes out of date. Something physical stands the test of time much better. Quality of images that my gt grandparents had is superb and I've still got them today, 100+ years on. When you were at broadsands for the calendar shot, its about 5 miles from me 😃
Hello team, I think your best show yet. Great to see the final Parks challenge, young presenters in York and a very informative film processing section ( brings back memories of my youth)….well done 🎉
Really must try C41 processing, got the same kit as you’ve shown there but was worried about how difficult it would be to maintain temperature, must just jump in.
Hey Guys, as always, another fantastic show. It was great to see Xiana doing the review of the Pentax 17 and following it up with a segment on developing film was a brilliant idea. I have just purchased the "Essential Camera Skills 1" in PDF (to save on postage to Australia) and wanted to ask if it's OK to have it printed to take it with me when I go out shooting? Also enjoyed this month's podcast and can't wait for the next live show on Sunday (Monday for me). Keep up the great work. Mick
@@MickDouglas hi Mick. Thanks for your purchases. No problem to print out the PDF if it’s just for yourself. Thanks also for buying the calendar. All the best.
Love the segment on developing film. Thanks for that. If your bracketing with a sensor that has a high dynamic range, do you increase the bracket interval? Like 2 stops for each shot vs 1 stop for each shot?

@@PhotographyOnline just very disappointing to not see a photo where the main subject was Exmoor, shot from Exmoor, challenge not met in my eyes or many from Exmoor
I bought my Pentax 17 from B&H, ordering it the first day or so it was available for sale there--It was already backordered, but I got mine a couple weeks later. I haven't looked since then, but I'm not really surprised if it's hard to find. I'm loving mine. And I'm still kind of surprised at the complaints about its price. Back in the mid-80s through the early 90s, you would typically pay $125-$150 for a nice point and shoot. Converted to today's dollars, that's about the same as the Pentax 17. My coveted Minolta XD-11, back at the end of the 70s, cost double. The fact I get 48-72 photos per roll gives a bit more freedom, plus the vertical aspect ratio, combined with that, encourages shooting diptychs and triptychs--more creative thinking.
I cannot find your podcast. I type photography online in the search both as one word and as two words and neither one of them bring it up. Do you have this problem with other viewers? I search for my podcast in Pandora.

Hi Doug. We'll try to put the names into alphabetical order next time, but that's the order they come to us from TH-cam. Thanks for watching and for your continued support.
wonderful series.. awesome photographs, great content. But, But, But... next time when you think of breaking a camera for fun, think of people like me who are waiting to get one of those things.. Please donate, dont destroy (if it was real). Love your channel love your videos ..
@richardwest217. I'm in total agreement with you mate. Suspect it might be an age thing... It's interesting that Pentax would develop a new film camera (unintentional pun), but why anybody would go out and pay £500 for it when the 2nd hand market is awash with quality SLRs for far less is beyond me. My youngest daughter recently expressed an interest in film photography, so I gave her my old ME Super. She was made up and it still works perfectly...
The Pentax is expensive compared to older (more capable) cameras, but it’s important the new cameras are still made because older ones will eventually break. It’s not cheap to bring a new camera to the market, so the price has to be profitable for Pentax. It seems to be a great success so far, so hopefully this will encourage them to continue their film camera project.
Whilst I applaud Pentax for a new film camera, as I already have 12+ working Pentax film cameras that cost me less than the price of the new 17 in total, I don't think I'll be buying one. Plus, I'm no fan of portrait format except for portraits. I know Gen Z or whatever they call them, don't know how to turn their 'phones around to landscape, but I don't like wasting two thirds of my screen looking at massive black bars around a picture, (or video).
We hear you Richard. It's a great camera though, and hopefully the start of a new line of film cameras. If no one makes new cameras, then they'll slowly dissappear, so it's great news that someone is trying.
Why on earth does anyone want to go backwards. Film costs money to buy and more money to develop and then more money to print. £500 for a camera and then spending on every film you put through it??????? The phone in your pocket and a second hand digital camera will cost less than that to buy and all the photos are cost free unless you chose to print any which you can do at home The phone is the new box brownie. Developing your own film is yet another unecessary cost plus the chemicals smell. They are highly toxic to small children and animals in the home and they stain most things they touch. Come on let's leave that process where it belongs back in the past.
@@edwardwalker3229 There speaks someone who has never put a roll of film through a hundred year old camera and developed the negatives and seen the magic happen. It's not all about money.
It’s because it’s a new camera with a warranty. It’s not really aimed at photographers - more towards instagrammers. This is just the first of hopefully more new film cameras from Pentax.
I love your podcast but these TH-cam videos are not my cup of tea. Too much obviously staged drama (throwing cameras, running over cameras) obviously contrived. I’ll stick with the informative, no nonsense podcasts.
