That man is an utter disgrace! He was already comfortably off as a lawyer, but his greed shone through and he fell into common criminality - nasty piece of work. Let him rot in prison, I hope he gets a custodial sentence.
If he was comfortably off before this, it was likely from the same behavior. But I also find it hard to be sympathetic to someone who signs a power of attorney to handle that much money without restriction. And I never have sympathy for any kind of princess, especially a Saudi princess.
the arrogance of this man who probably thinks he is entitled to whatever he can get his greedy filthy paws on is a fine example of a gluttonous maniac.
Gibbs is lucky to be alive. The last person I would try to rip off is a member of Saudi Royalty. Of course, the Princess' family may have been waiting to get the lady's money back before seeking final justice. Any close acquaintance of Mr. Gibbs, may find it prudent to become a very distant acquaintance. One has to wonder how many others Gibb's has defrauded during his career. I hope this at least leads to his disbarment as any sort of legal representative.
It was fun having MI5 waving their things around trying to look impressive, only to be dismissed when I asked them if they knew the head of the US Secret Service detachment here. My interlocutor, a Gulf Prince with a reputation for such things, was quite amused.
@@LG-ct8tw Do the Saudis bother with suitcases? I guess it would depend on if the pieces had to be moved and the location. Or if they felt the need to hide anything. Foreign diplomats often have blanket immunity from any sort of prosecution. If Gibbs stepped out in front of a car driven by such a diplomat, then no suitcases needed. Especially if the diplomat backed up to see if the man was seriously hurt. They may only need a street sweeper.

How small do the pieces of a crooked lawyer have to be before he can be called straight?
If judges actually cared about perjury pretty much everyone who steps in the courtroom would be locked up. The system would grind to a halt. Most judges are probably too cynical to even care at some point in their careers. If counsel does not make a fuss over it or catch it it is an non issue.
Has he been disbarred (the UK equivalent of), barred from working as a financial manager of any type and ordered to pay her legal fees? Oh, and perjury!? Shame on him. Weak words, yes, but it’s all I have got. That is the epitome of entitled. Thanks for the update! I hope you get better soon.
Interestingly I have been relentlessly sued by the ultimate scoundrel using money which belongs to me. I ran out of money and had to defend myself. It got so bad I had a nervous breakdown. The court appointed a litigation guardian who works pro bono. He is a brilliant lawyer who realises the legal system has failed me and that is why he helps me. So there are some with a conscience.
A lawyer dies and goes up to see St. Peter but there's a 5 mile queue which he joins. Four slaves turn up with a sedan chair and carry him to the front. He says 'This is really nice but why the special treatment for me'. St Peter says 'Well I've checked how many hours you've billed and by my reckoning you must be at least three hundred years old'.
How do you think most convince themselves that they will get away with the stuff you come to see (whether on social media) or in real time. *Something, tells them that they will get away with it. Some are so far gone, they will keep doing the same *exact thing, until they're finally caught or exposed. You can't imagine, much less make up some of the stuff that you see and come to know that others do.
It's disappointing it sounds like theres no criminal extradition to Saudi, I think their criminal system would focus his attention rapidly on repatriating the money, a good flogging will have that effect. I'm surprised her family haven't got involved, if they chop up a journalist for criticising them, what would they do to someone who stole from them?
@user-ed6ff3bb4i That's a stretch on the basis of one comment, do you always look for broader negatives in any opinion, if you have a contrary view fine, just state it. I think perhaps you have an issue with your life outlook? But to answer your question, wrong is wrong but deal with each situation on its merits or lack of.
@user-ed6ff3bb4i Yeah, i got round that by refusing to work for them and explaining in some detail to them why not. But I also recognise that they have a distinct culture and outlook that doesn't sit harmoniously with ours, yet we keep trying to transpose our values onto them. Both Western and Arab cultures developed slavery, The Arabs castrated their slaves preventing an established African population in Arabia, we westerners were far more humane, we industriallised the process, forced their breeding and destroyed their family groups. Your right, we're way more civilised. I try to understand and accept different but I don't have to work with or promote it, or wear my heart on my sleeve for that matter.
I cant emphasize how extremely lucky this lawyer is to be still alive as i am sure with the reach and power of the Saudi royal family he could have been switched off in a heartbeat!
The rule of thumb is…never owe £100k as you could face jail if you don’t repay it. Much better to owe someone £10m as they will work very hard to keep you out of jail for as long as it takes to get the money back.
Feel better! Great story. I can’t believe this guy is only on the hook for $45 mil. Even a modest return, say 5%, over that time and the clown should be on the hook for $52 mil.
LOL - his comment “you can’t get blood out of a stone” reminds me of a humorous cartoon I saw back in the early 80’s: a gentleman is sitting in front of an IRS auditor who had a jar of red liquid on his desk. The auditor responding to the gentleman’s question said, “Oh that? We’re proud of that one - it’s blood out of a turnip!” The look on the guy’s face was priceless! A guy who cheated ma and many others out of money travelled to Cayman three or four times/year. Took a lot of folks down with himself (bankers, investment bankers) and wound up doing time in the big house. He was shamed at nothing but blamed everyone else for his failures.
Imagine that a lawyer that lies and embezzled from his client. It just sounds too unbelievable to be true. Let me guess he's remorseful about his mismanagement and feels just awful.

Hope you get out from under the weather real soon. Thanks for putting out this informative video. What a scoundrel. Perhaps someone will get a deal on the yacht and do something good eith it. I hope the princess sees her wealth returned and this guy punished properly.
Wow Mr Gibb's wasn't at all bashful about his grift . I guess he wasn't happy with the exorbitant fee's he was beating her over the head with . He went for the whole shebang and wasn't at all fearful of her extended family or ending up a hole in the desert .
I worked on one of them. That is the sunseeker 133 isn't it? Triple deck? I did the plumbing on it. Coming to think of it, I think it was the Elysium. How weird is that? I worked there in 2018 😂
If this was tried in a Sharia law court the non-believer (in the Islamic ideology) would automatically lose. I’m not saying he did the right thing, I comment to add perspective.
He probably has a few bucks still stashed and so far other than possibly some embarrassment which I doubt to be true he got to live large for years and faces no punishment? I don't see how he lost in this game of fraud and theft so far.
Surely under British law he is in contempt of court for failing to abide to the order of the court when physically able to do so. Proof of evasion action of the court order must mean something? Jail time should be the least of his worries, as when you steal from the Saudi royals, personal accidents can occur. The Saudis have a great deal of influence and money in the UK.
We are currently in a Mercury retrograde and it's time for another episode of the "world's dumbest criminals". Others may be caught by the end of the month!
Just pick a currency that works best for the story. No need to go through various exchanges giving the amounts in 3 different currencies. The viewers can do that on their own.
The lawyer should be prosecuted for perjury in court if he claimed to be broke but actually had millions. Bravo to the Cayman courts.
Thumbs up to eSysman making this report whilst "under the weather". That's a sailor!
Thumbs up to him for doing all of the currency conversions.
I worked sick many times and rarely did as well as you have done here! Thank you so much for putting in the time and effort - feel better soon!

The thief has had his plan thwarted! Looks like someone ripped off, might actually get their money back for once! Nice reporting!
you think saudi 'royalty' aren't thieves?

I doubt he will see the inside of a prison.
I agree because I do not understand the greed of some folk; they make enough money as professionals.
MESSING WITH THE SAUDIS IS PROBABLY A BAD IDEA.
I don't think the Saudi men would
Worry as the money was a settlement to an ex...
he had permission to scam her
Imagine my surprise that a British lawyer was found to have hidden money in the Caribbean!
🤣
Ya..
... and tax exempt
Royal Bank of Canada will help him hide the cash. Well, they used to!!!
Its a tradition since Drakes times. Do you honestly think they brought all the loot back ?
Who would have thought? A lawyer?? Nooooooo!!!
Lawyers. 90% of them giving the rest a bad name.
Too funny, thanks so much for the best laugh of the day.
I think your accusation of 90% is way too kind.
99%.
99.99% of them. Cannot be trusted on any level. Extremely disgraceful behaviors and iniatives.
Nah. My husband worked with lawyers for decades, and he says that most of them were fine people. You want jerks, look at insurance companies.

Bone saw justice coming? - just ask Khashoggi's wife.
Disbarment or dismemberment? If you want to find Mr Gibbs start looking for a suit case.

the great thing about this channel is we actually learn a lot about....corruption
yeah I always wondered how people can afford a $20 million yacht on a $120K a year government salary lol. I thought I was doing life wrong.

Greed is a terrible master .... Stay Safe & Keep Reporting!! ☘
Is it any wonder that people hate lawyers?
Sadly, they have to hire new lawyers to go after the "bad" lawyers.

Yes I did it again. I hit the like button at the exact time the horn sounded.
Always great content!

The interest stacked up well.
How did he think he was ever going to get away with it

Excellent Get well soon

No punishment for perjury ("I'm broke") in UK courts?
I’m sure there are a couple of suitcases inside Saudi embassies that he’ll be able to squeeze into.
Hahahaaa!
Yes, & I suppose Dubai stopovers are off his itinerary too.
Hope the cold isn’t too bad and you get better soon!
What surprised me is that the Saudi’s did not give him the extra special treatment….as always honesty is the best policy!!
Hope he has some Kevlar garments

I have never in my long life known of an honest lawyer
I knew one, he was born in Iceland, did some brilliant Pro Bono work for
good causes, and died too young in a car crash...[ hot day; beer...]
“Lawyers”, in all honesty, Is Anyone Out There REALLY Surprised? ? ? ALWAYS looking out for #1, no, thats not the client, its the
Lawyer! ! !
I would hope that after the Princess gets her money back, MBS can do an Jamal Khashoggi on him.
This lawyer sounds like a real piece of work.
The Cayman's is a fairly secretive place for hiding money, so how'd they find the account?
obviously not as secretive as he would of liked. the saudi royal family may have had some favors "called in" to solve this one

He'll be just fine business as usual. Many attorneys accrue these types of charges one right after the other and it doesn't affect their bottom line.
Why is this sheister not in prison?
Surely the lawyer should have had insurance in place to cover clients should their assets be misappropriated
He is marked in Saudi...😮
Why is it that thieving lawyers always buy depreciating things like boats and cars ? Do they not teach economics in these colleges ?

Comparing him to 'British men' is unfair. Comparing him to all other Lawyers would be a more suitable comparison.
OK, real gentleman from "fair lawers" corporation.

Wow! The sheer audacity of the man. I hope there will be jail time. This is inexcusable.
PS. Get well soon xox
Trusting a lawyer is extremely difficult as many of them are corrupt and some of them are simply incompetent .
The only reason the money was returned is because she is a saudi princess most poeple would never see that money again crazy story either way
Just tell the man he needs to repay in the UK or he faces deportation to Saudi Arabia.
I find it surprising that a lawyer has the proper licensing to legally captain a yacht that size.
Gibbs testified he was broke and owned nothing but a laptop and a cheap printer. Well gee. It looks like he was telling the truth.
Hope you’re feeling better soon! Missing money found, wow. Pretty cheeky monkey thinking he “couldn’t find it!”.

So, he lied to the court about not having the funds. In the USA, that would be jail time for lying to the court.
