Those yachts are just mindblowing. I was in Monaco many years ago and Lionheart v.1 (or maybe later - but definitely not the current Lionheart) was moored. Huge. And to later find out that (sir) Philip Green who destroyed BHS and blighed many pensioners futures now has a newer, bigger, shinier boat to evade tax on is galling.
The lawsuits don't surprise me one bit. I mean think about it. If you have money to afford one of these lots you definitely have money to afford lawyers lol
Great job,as always. Thanks for continuing to bring us great content. You had great weather for filming, hope you were able to enjoy the festivities. Thanks for sharing.
interesting channel but would hate to meet the owners of these 'yots' because their mentality seems obsessed with size matters and trying to show themselves bigger than the next guy...geez...money is wasted on the rich
I saw on Sunday that MV LOON is forsale now too. I follow their YT channel too which is why I mention it. They claim it it has positive cash flow exclusively as a charter yacht
Your ship was displacement. The yacht is volume. They are not the same! You could, perhaps, find out the displacement of the yacht, the builders know it. My "yacht" displaces about 5000 lb and is 24 ft long.
That’s hilarious. That was an accident. How can the yacht company prove interference with their business of yacht sales??? Talk about grasping at straws 😮
Actually, it is done all the time. An accident does not relieve you financially. It only relieves you of criminal charges. This is particularly true if you did not properly maintain the ship or take proper precautions as alleged by the yacht dealer. Note that the city of Baltimore is alleging something similar.
Anybody else surprised that US authorities let the Dali leave US waters. I would've thought it would not have been allowed to leave until everyone got their money. But i do not know maritime law so i guess it doesn't work that way.
Ahh ... the realm of the super rich, interesting and curious that there a so many .... but I'm not envious. They have created this industry of gluttony to appease their egos. Whilst these yachts are spectacular in their design and craftsmanship, is there really any need for such grandiose opulence.
I'm pretty sure that if you check with the brokerage houses, that you would be told that the TOTAL commission is 5%, which is split between the buyers agent and the sellers agent. That of course is 5 million dollars on a 100 million dollar boat. Geoff Rohde
If I remember other episodes correctly he uses marinetraffic (just Google it). Probably one of the paid tiers. The free tier hides certain interesting data and only tracks ships with land based AIS receivers. You have to pay for full registry/GPS/history data and satellite tracking.
....notwithstanding the culpability of the Dali. the economic stakes being that high weren't necessarily the Dalis fault. so the bridge should have been built stronger or cleverer
I know there are plenty of sanctioned Russians that own property in NYC .... and for that jurisdiction to go after far away assets while protecting reale estate prices at home.
All of the hull bow section of the Dalli is unaffected and the collision bulkhead (watertight compartments commence with and then behind that) also not effected. No reason why not to sail in a light ship configuration.
Can you imagine if the Dali owners decided to deliver the cargo with that bow damage and the ship sunk? Wouldn't that just be another negligent act? ... yet more lawsuits.
How deep is the draft on this $1M yacht that couldn't get out of the port of Baltimore? Am I missing something here? Did it require the deep water channel that was blocked by the container vessel, in order to depart? I think not. Or was the yacht transporter vessel stuck in the port of Baltimore?
Thinking the constructor of yacht didn’t want to place it in seawater before delivery or that placing it in water would have trigger tax of some sort once commissioned. Seems they could have placed on a barge and taken it further down the coast to any number of ports for export.
Sol Mercogliano (What's up with Shipping) has been following Dali and she's been playing fast and loose with her AIS. Her sister ship has been arrested in US waters - did she leave without permission?
I feel I must disagree or you must clarify what you said at 4:40 minutes about the gross tons not being the weight of the yacht if placed on a giant scale. The displacement is the weight of the water pushed out of the "hole" the ship makes in the water, but that is the same as the weight of the yacht if on that giant scale. Here's what Google says about it: A ship's displacement is the weight of water it displaces when it's floating, which is the same as the weight of the ship and its contents. Displacement is calculated indirectly by using Archimedes' principle to first calculate the volume of water displaced, then converting that value into weight.
Gross tonnage (GT) is a unitless measurement of the total internal volume of a ship, calculated from the volume of all enclosed spaces within the hull, bulkheads, and decks. It's used to determine a ship's safety, manning, and other statutory requirements, as well as to calculate port dues, canal transit dues, and registration fees.
Gross registered tonnage has no relation to weight or displacement. It is a measure of the useable VOLUME inside the hull ('ton' in this context being derived from 'tun', a measurement of 100 cubic feet). It is used for merchant vessels as an indication of cargo-carrying capability (large yachts are registered as merchant ships and therefore measured similarly, even though they do not carry cargo).
Gross tons and displacement are not related. Gross tons refers to the nominal cargo carrying capacity. The calculation involves ignoring dead space, machinery space, galley, crew quarters, the bridge, etc.
Brilliant. Arguing about technical terms used in the shipping industry with an actual ships Captain. Without even looking up Wikipedia first.🙂 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gross_tonnage
Fun fact : MY Symphony is a Feadship owned by the owner of LVMH. However : LVMH owns Royal van Lent … that is one of the shipyards that is part of Feadship ( like Lurssen Feadship is not one shioyard, it’s several yards - just that they have different owners) So the owner of LvMH got a yacht made by a company he owns. How much you guys wanna bet everything inside is LV, Dior or LoroPiana ?😂
This fast speed boat is never worth 1m$. Most of your stories are alarming mistakes over zillionaires fancy toys, and the other 9billion people on the planet couldn't care a fig. Superyachts add nothing to the planet..😮
Gosh, I missed the sale, I would have bought one if I’d known ! 😂
The extra one meter really counts 🤣
That's what she said!
Oh the problems the idle rich have. Clutch my pearls!
It is interesting following the industry, though. Thanks!
I almost feel sorry for the super rich and the stresses they experience in life 💍💎👑🤣
Hold my Rolex, I going to Swim
Is it also unsinkable?
But of course.
All boats are unsinkable until they sink. 😁

All these rich people problems oh my how will they survive
They need your help ...
That's how certain segments of the worlds population feel about you.
They survive as long as the rest of us do. But they have a better time.
Frugal Warren Buffet once joked about writing a book for his wealthy friends and acquaintances..."How To Live On Just $500,000.00 per year"
the yachts are amazing another informative video thanks

As we have seen in history, extremely wealthy people spending all their time together makes them into absurd people.
Another historic factoid about Marblehead. Marblehead (along with other local towns), claims to be the town that founded the US Navy.
Lawyers running wild here. $1 million ............... give me a break! This is why many/most people despise lawyers.
people despise lawyers on the opposing side, they look favorably at lawyers who represent their side 😂
I'm all for people suing the Dali owners.
Thanks for the updates sysman
Thank you, keep working.
You wonder what yacht has been bought by dirty laundered money
Much quicker to list the ones that weren’t.
Most of them.
I saw on Sunday that MV LOON is forsale now too. I follow their YT channel too which is why I mention it. They claim it it has positive cash flow exclusively as a charter yacht
Every single one of them is for sale. Loon has already been sold a few times since she was built.
Sabre yachts are awesome yachts, among my favorites
Rule 1 Don't buy a super yacht unless you can afford to pay cash and have 10% of the sale price per year on hand to run and maintain it.
This rule remains the same even for my ancient, 29' dumpster
Apho really is a beautiful yacht
For comparison, my Gearing class destroyer was 2600 tons standard displacement. Hard to conceptualize a yacht of 3000 plus tons.
Your ship was displacement. The yacht is volume. They are not the same! You could, perhaps, find out the displacement of the yacht, the builders know it. My "yacht" displaces about 5000 lb and is 24 ft long.
Never leaving San Remo
Except to go skiing?

The vessel could have been arrested for that reason. But if the company shuts down then you have a massive container ship you have to get rid of.

Yes, I need them to make a living along with millions of other folks in the industry that build, supports and repairs them
Thank you eSysman for the update video.....

🙋♂️THANKS ESYSMAN FOR THE UPDATES…🤷♂️ from a long time viewer😁 according to you 💚💚💚

What insurance company? Lloyds?
May I ask which AIS service you do use?
If I remember other episodes correctly he uses marinetraffic (just Google it). Probably one of the paid tiers. The free tier hides certain interesting data and only tracks ships with land based AIS receivers. You have to pay for full registry/GPS/history data and satellite tracking.
hi bots
Footagge? are you sure??.
....notwithstanding the culpability of the Dali. the economic stakes being that high weren't necessarily the Dalis fault. so the bridge should have been built stronger or cleverer
I just can’t believe anyone would pay a million dollars for that boat. More dollars than sense.
Did the divers recover the encrypted discs from the vault? Are they going to raise the boat?
💪😎🎸 KILLA 🎸👻
And I can't afford health insurance...
I thought AHPO was renamed Lady Jorgia?
Question: Does Gross Tonnage alter, depending on the salinity of the water its floating in? Or is it purely volume? Fresh water enthusiast here...
That Kismet is gorgeous 👌🏼
I know there are plenty of sanctioned Russians that own property in NYC .... and for that jurisdiction to go after far away assets while protecting reale estate prices at home.
isn't the weight of a yacht the weight of the amount of water that the yacht displaces?
I seen that yacht in Barcelona 2 weeks ago. I was looking for the name too.
What?! So funny you’ll know yachts.
where is the Yacht shows video ?
All of the hull bow section of the Dalli is unaffected and the collision bulkhead (watertight compartments commence with and then behind that) also not effected. No reason why not to sail in a light ship configuration.
What's the best alternative to vessel finder etc?
yeah, lawsuits are a technicality to start collections on their own insurance......
general average has already been declared.
How petty.
The real world of everyday people is totally dirt to the rich
Or you just move to yacht to another port and send it from there ?
maybe someone will explain how they recycle containers as that has to work for some reason…… #doesitnot
#hdyd
Boy you really got money to burn if you would drop a mil for a sabre 43 sedan 😅
The Egos are getting bigger and bigger.
No, egos do not grow.
Hi Esys, that had some loose wires, and the pump that switched in-between fuel types was kind of rigged. So that's lawsuit worthy. 🧐
Can anyone identify the two masted yacht in front of /to the port side of the motor yacht being discussed at 9:21?
I can't but have you noticed the 2M-SY flies the same flag as the MY?
It's the Dona Francisca.
@@djhurley4543 Much obliged to you!!!

Maybe you have size envy
@YachtReport keep up the good work, love your reports!
Sol Mercogliano (What's up with Shipping) has been following Dali and she's been playing fast and loose with her AIS. Her sister ship has been arrested in US waters - did she leave without permission?
The ship was escorted out by four US vessels so it’s unlikely.
So are there ANY yachts available without attached drama?
Plenty
