He is literally able to pass off his services as psychic because he always solves it perfectly, when not psychic issue he is able to solve all muscle problems and all mental problems then mob solves the spirits. And he always wins arguments because he is logic 100 and is able to read a person's personality and thoughts from their behaviour and was able to forcefully bring claw members back into reality. That's literally so good. I never seen anyone convert so many murderers into responsible, dedicated and socially responsible citizens.
Reigen noticing what the possessed girl said such as *Papa* and then *Dad* afterwards is such a good observation. Even thou the anime portray him as someone who would chase profit, but he's still the type of person who would put so much effort in his job. Such as using common sense that other Espers failed to use because of relying too much on spiritual powers to sense a spirit/solve a case
I think that scene is really well made. When Reigen started saying that everyone is wrong I didn't know if he actually thought that its a spirit or if he was just trying to get money from the rich guy by pretending to be on his side.

There's some interesting aspects to Reigen's character. Scenes like this make you wonder why he didn't become a psychiatrist or therapist. But I wonder if he's not helping more people by presenting himself as a psychic, letting people who are victims of their own mental illnesses come to him, then solving their problems without the resistance an actual therapist might deal with. He can help the victims from within their delusions rather than needing to first break them or convince them they need help. Regardless of whether that's intentional or if I'm just looking too far into it, he knows what makes people tick.
Mainly because in Japan, there really are no psychiatrists or therapists due to the fact that people with disabilities are looked down upon severely and have suffered discrimination from society as a result.

Because he is lazy, I had a genius friend and had never surmounted to anything because he just doesn’t want to do it. I think it all came about when we were young and he never has to study once and always got good grades just by listening to the teacher and would sometimes miss a months worth of class just because he already knows the answers.

I'd like to think that (based on Season 2 Episode 2, where Dimple, to avoid talking to Reigan, made himself "more invisible" to avoid Reigan's ability to sense/see him) if a spirit is powerful enough, they can make themselves invisible to espers as well as non-espers. That's some pretty subtly foreshadowing for how Mogami was able to avoid psychic detection...
I caught on to her calling Reigen a psychic despite him not introducing himself as such, but I didn't on her switching between "dad" and "father". So, that caught me off guard

Let’s try and break this down for a second as to what she’s displaying. First and foremost, she’s too calm at the beginning. Not even saying she’s panicked, she’s holding a composed front this entire time and that’s what makes her come across as very sane. She sounds very reasonable, competent and put together. She’s too composed for somebody like this, and it’s too apparent that she’s created this and practiced it to be ready to convince whoever the next person was who stepped inside. The words, the events, everything that was said was well chosen, and Reigan can tell a good actor/con artist when he sees one.
It actually makes complete sense that he guessed I mean. Look at her smile at 2:36 and how quick it changes to her being upset at her dad. If what she said was true about all these guys being sent in and touching her (which the phrasing of that was suspicious too. The filthy filthy hands sounds less like something a victim would say and more like someone talking about something they heard about would) then she would have no reason to look completely calm, then smile, then be distressed.
Nobody is pointing this out but Reigen knew this was possession because if what the girl said was true, then the father wouldn't be doing any of this. He would have just kept her hidden, from people e believes to be psychics. Also she would be freaking out and be too traumatized to say whats happened, but enough to get her the fuck out of there.
This is more of suspense of belief for the audience. Rather than the justification of the scene, it's more about tricking the reader/audience. We all know Reigen is crafty and cunning and we all know Mob Psycho 100 is a manga about espers and whatnot so more or less a "convention of espers" would lead to esper fight. The spirit could've been the father, the old man or the girl. We as the audience are hoping for Reigen and Mob to identify the enemy because we already know there should be one until Reigen did just that and we now want to believe him but it was immediately proven he was right and we were right to put our hopes in him that makes this scene memorable.
Exactly, if her story was true there wouldnt be any reason to tell reigen as he couldve been another stranger to touch her inappropriately. Reigen didnt act friendly or hostile, just asked if she knew why she was locked up, so she shouldve been scared of him.
