I found this video extremely helpful and informative. I just recently got more in depth with the rule of showing and telling. There are many videos that talk about the details but seem to be a little abstruse. There’s a lot of simplicity to this video as well as showing us what you do, with simple steps. I know it will help with my writing, thanks! 🙌
I have had a hard time with telling instead of showing. I need to show don't tell more. But this does help. Thanks. And yes I believe that there should be a in-between with this. You can't show and you can't tell all of the time. There needs to be a in-between like you said. But it's kind of hard for me to find that in-between but I think I can do a better job at it now. And thank you so much!!!!!
@@DrawlingsStoriesAndMore A red brick house. A tall blonde haired girl with green eyes. A short, fat boy with brown hair and blue eyes. A forty storey building. A moon-sized laser cannon. It's not difficult.
It's good advice to show not tell, but it's also important for the writer to understand why. When I beta-read for people, they have a tendency to tell me events that happened, or tell me what their character is like, and I really want to just be shown a scene where that happens.
Cool! Thanks for showing me and telling me ways of telling and showing.
No problem! Love this comment😂

No, you really don't. Write how you want to write, not how she does it, or I do it, or anyone else.
@@MrRosebeing Thank you ❤️
But I would like to get better at descriptions.

It's not difficult.
@@MrRosebeing Yeah I'm getting it. I'v only been writing for a few years so I'm still learning things. But thank you. ❤️

No advice in writing should be taken as gospel. It's all taste and opinion.
