actually, this is an ability the brain naturally has by perceiving the words and remembering the important parts which actually allows it to piece together the full sentence, even the words you “missed” while reading the next line and is one of the most important skills in speedreading

The odd thing about this test is that, yes, I could read nine easily and ten mostly, but usually I don't read one word at a time like that. Most fast readers read phrases, rather than words.
That’s exactly what I do, if it’s a common phrase there’s no need to read every word because you can immediately grasp the meaning

Hell yeah, my brain is already focusing on the next words while I'm processing the one I'm reading, so it makes me read faster.
That was a strange feeling haha, I stopped being able to say the words in my head at level 7, but was able to still read and comprehend up to level 9. I don’t think I’ve ever read like that without actually saying the words in my head. 😂
Around 7 to 10 you start to skip words but you’ll still be able to read enough words to get the full context of each sentence.

I actually got past level 10, though it was around level 8 that I started struggling, basically it said something about if you can read this, you are either lying or are an alien, or superhuman. Your reading speed is about double than the average human’s

Reading fast is fun and im glad i could keep up!
My friends and I did this thing where we had to read it out loud as we read it or it didn't count. At around lever 6, I reached a point where I couldn't say the words fast enough out loud, but since I have a photographic memory, I could repeat the sentence (almost) word for word.

I couldn't believe i could actually read it! The thing is, I read it, but my mind actually processes it a bit slower. But the breaks between levels gave my mind a small chance to rest and process the last few words properly

At level 7 i started struggling keeping up with all the words, but still got the message through. I was able to “read” and understand everything, even past level 10. I had an amazing time reading, but overall, when you know some of the larger words in the english dictionary you can glance at the word and recognise it easily, therefor it was not really a struggle understanding until the end.

I was not expecting to be able to pass level nine with no trouble at all. Although i couldn't read the extremely long word, at the end when you showed it for longer i could easily read it. I even passed level ten, although a word or two slipped passes me.
Again, this is the second reading test. I've looked at and I was able to read everything completely fine

I got to level eight relatively easily, but after level eight it did start to become hard to properly read every word, but the point still got across and I did get most of the words. For some reason this was saved to a playlist for me to watch by my past self (it was literally titled ‘future self look at this’) presumably because my past self couldn’t do it lol (obvs no disrespect to those who can’t read it I appreciate it’s very hard - I can only do it because my school was/is obsessed with teaching speed reading skills)

What i do is i take mental pictures of each word and sort them out after the sentance is done

As the levels progressed, I felt myself being able to keep up for a bit only to start missing words, especially during the second half of a given level.
I think part of might be that my mind would say, "Hey, I'm actually sorta doing this!" only to break my focus by thinking that, lol.
But yeah, I'm neither lying nor (I think) superhuman when I say that I kinda got the gist of level 10. Though I have also realized that the content of level 10 has pretty quickly passed from memory.
I could actually read level 10, I comprehend the words and read them at a delayed speed in my head.

i think the reason it's so easy to pass level 10 is that you can see the most important words so therefore you can understand the overall message rather than reading every individual word. don't take my word for this though.

Key here is to basically look at the words and not read it. As reading it means you have to pronounce it, and if you can't pronounce it, you will try to repronounce and you lose time. Just, rely on your vision, and storage inside your mind to read them.
Level 10 was a little bit of a struggle but I was able to read it and it surprised me a lot I now know that I am very fast at reading which explains how I can finish a 32 chapter book in about 1/2 an hour including water breaks

I never really had to read that fast, but I still understood all of the sentences.
When I do these, as the speed gets faster my brain focuses on the more important words so even if I miss out on small ones I can still comprehend the message. Made it to level 10.

I got the same results as you! I legit showed my parents my results cause they say I don’t read enough but reading fan-fics, mangas and even the subtitles of animes improved my reading speed quite a bit! The fact that I’m a kid who entered 6th grade 3 weeks ago makes me really happy ngl😁

Of course we're talking about reading it word for word, but if we are talking about understanding each level of what is being said and what read then level 7 started getting difficult and 9 was preparation for the impossible. Only amount of words you couldve have gotten from lvl 10 was about 4 words.
what counts as passing, i could understand every level by recognizing most words and getting the notions from keywords, i just wasnt actually reading all the individual words by 7 to 10

Frrrr!!! ESPECIALLY IN COMPREHENSION! I just skim through a comprehension and understand what the story is abt. Then I just take abt 30 seconds on the question to kinda understand it and just look for the part lol. Do the comprehension then the creative writing. Then I just check my paper and do the questions I skipped through for the time being. And when the teacher is asking students for a paper, I write some other thing of the chapter the question came for and quickly write the whole summary of the chapter and hopefully get at least 1 mark out of 3 lol. And if it's a T or F, I choose a random and for circle the correct answer, I just circle a random one😂
But mostly I have a lot of time when a paper ends except math but later on I'm SURE I'll struggle a lot. Thankfully I can read a bit faster and write faster and still look readable and kinda nice lol, even though my handwriting is the worst in my class for girls😂

I passed level 10. I've been a fast reader my entire life, although sometimes its an issue when I'm really enjoying a book, because I don't want it to end!! But I'll just put it down and walk away for a bit. I can read a book in a day, a morning if I'm really loving it. Back in the day I'd devour a paperback in a couple of hours, but I do reread books I really love, so thats part of the reason :D I still read a lot online, but nowadays I absolutely love listening to books, it saves my eyes and I can do other stuff while listening.

As a person who won this challenge easily in 0.25% speed, I see this as an absolute win
If I had to read this as if they were pages on a book, I wouldn’t be able to do it incredibly fast. However, when you put the words one after the other like this, it becomes really easy to read, even around 1500 words per minute.

I was able to read everything except the excessively long word in the earlier level without issue. I dont know if this is because i have adhd and im just used to read too quickly or not
I could still comprehend the meaning of the words past level 7 without fully reading every single word if that makes sense.
For me, when I read I don't actually READ every word, I read every other word or less and my brain automatically fills in the rest of the sentence and 99% of the time it's what the sentence actually says. I pretty sure that's how most quick readers read, or anyone who reads books quickly and can finish them quickly.
me too, you just need a few keywords and your brain will understand the rest for you. I "trained" this by reading books almost every day when I have the time.

Yeah. Sometimes when I’m reading I’ll skip over a few words to even entire sentences and I’ll still be able to mostly understand it. I do have to reread every now and then, and Im starting to try to reading slower so I can get each word.

because when you move your eyes, your vision blacks out for a small interval of time (unless your eyes are not normal), (the reason you don't see your vision blacking out is that your brain is a very good liar) so scrolling through books and capturing all of the words quickly is hard when your vision blacks out half of the time.
to test whether or not what i said is actually true or not: look in a clear mirror closely and move the direction of your eyes around a little. if i was lying, you would be able to see your eyes move around but if i was telling the truth, you would only be able to see the destination of your eyes when they move.

When you're speed reading at this level, usually the reader isn't looking for the words in particular, rather, they're looking for the gist of the phrase or sentence. Going by that, all the levels could be understood at a basic level to some - if not most - experienced readers.

i fell comftably reading 600 words a min and beeing able to exeactly tell what happend thought if you ask me to write it word to word i miss about 10% mainly words that arent important in the sentance

With level 10, I couldn't mentally "say" each of the words, but I subconsciously processed and interpreted everything I missed and got the meaning.
Which is the point of reading. You dno't need to raed every word to umderstand the meening of the sentence. Like this, did you see the typos i made in this comment on first read or are you looking back now to see where they are?
thats normal, when you read you dont actually read each word for word, your brain just looks at it briefly, registers its general meaning, and moves to the next word

Around Level 7 I reached a weird point where I couldn't say the words in my head fast enough, but my brain could still process the thought of every sentence.

I suck at enunciation so I wasn't really understanding but I was kinda catching the gist of it Lol
Fun Fact: I completed this with slowing down the video to the limit, and I'm proud of myself. Now to try levels 11 to 15. If I ever get sent to an island, I will probably call it the isle of Wizzle.
